The Survivor's Crusade

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Echoes of war

The year 2030 marked the beginning of a catastrophic era, one that would forever alter the course of human history.

It started with an otherworldly spectacle - the sky lit up in a brilliant blue hue, leaving the world in a state of collective awe.

The clouds transformed into a deep blue, and even the sun's rays took on an ethereal blue tone, bathing the earth in an unearthly glow.

People from all walks of life gathered outside, their faces upturned towards the sky, cameras and phones at the ready to capture the phenomenon.

Some were ecstatic, while others cowered in fear, hiding in the safety of their homes.

The air was thick with speculation and superstition, as whispers of the end of the world began to spread like wildfire.

Scientists, meanwhile, were left scrambling for answers, their usual composure ruffled by the unprecedented event.

They were baffled by the sudden transformation of the sky, and their usual arsenal of explanations and theories proved woefully inadequate.

As the world struggled to make sense of the bizarre occurrence, animals began to behave erratically.

Pets turned on their owners, zoo animals broke free from their enclosures, and wildlife became increasingly aggressive.

The streets ran red with the blood of the innocent, as rats swarmed out of the sewers, attacking everything in their path.

Birds, once a symbol of peace and tranquility, became instruments of terror, swooping down in flocks to attack the defenseless.

Children, once safe in their homes, were now vulnerable to the aerial assaults, their screams echoing through the shattered windows.

As chaos reigned supreme, gun sales skyrocketed, with people desperate to protect themselves from the marauding animals.

But the respite was short-lived, as the world was about to face an even greater calamity.

On the fourth day, the sky tore open, and a barrage of meteorites descended upon the earth, their sheer quantity and size defying comprehension.

The meteors burned with an intense blue flame, casting an eerie glow over the devastated landscape.

The impact was catastrophic, with cities reduced to rubble, and entire nations left reeling.

The world leaders, once thought to be invincible, were not spared, as the meteors rained down on them with impunity.

The aftermath was apocalyptic, with five billion people dead, and half a billion more succumbing to their injuries in the following weeks.

The government, already on shaky ground, collapsed, leaving a power vacuum that would soon be filled by a new entity - the Council.

The meteors, however, brought with them a strange, blue crystal-like mineral called Etherium.

This enigmatic substance would become the focal point of a global struggle for resources, as its value was deemed too great to be left in the hands of a single entity.

The fumes from the meteors also had a profound effect on the planet's inhabitants, causing mutations in both animals and humans.

While some humans experienced a slight increase in physical abilities, others underwent a more radical transformation, manifesting phenomena that defied explanation.

The world would never be the same again, as the day the sky fell marked the beginning of a new era - one of chaos, transformation, and struggle for survival.

And so humanity evolved through the use of their super powers, as well as the Etherium.

And like that the Terran federation ruled by the council was formed.

They lived like that for about two hundred years before another history making event occurred again.

This time, a voice resounded around the planet announcing the merge of earth and another similar planet. Fantasia.

The people of Fantasia unlike Earth, or rather the Terran federation, could use magic.

At first when the merge occurred, both sides kept to themselves until something happened.

The meteors that came with the blue mineral, Etherium that wasn't harvested began corrupting the air and land.

Now the main issue behind why a war started was that the area which was majorly corrupted by Etherium was directly connected with Fantasia.

The corruption then began eating into their land. The fantasians decided to move their civilization into the Terrans world.

But the council that governed the Terran population, stood firm in their resolve to protect their territory.

To them, the Fantasians were nothing more than extraterrestrial beings - aliens who were as mysterious as they were menacing.

The council's stance was clear: the Fantasians were unwelcome strangers, and their attempts to set foot on Terran soil would be met with fierce resistance.

But the Fantasians weren't going to just heed and let their citizens die and so they had no choice but to go to war.

And war began. And so for the next eight hundred years or so, the war has continued down to this day.

The novel, Echoes of War follows the journey of the protagonist, Lucas Draken as he becomes the most powerful being on both planets ending the war.

Of course with Terrans losing but still he won the war.

Now as for me, I was born or rather reborn as Nathan Hunt. If memory serves me right, he belonged to one of the ruling families, the Hunts.

He was the illegitimate son of Marshal Joseph Hunt. Head of the Hunt family and the Terran military.

In the novel, Nathan was strong. Abnormally so. Infact by the end of the novel, Nathan was the only person capable of still going toe to toe with the protagonist.

Or rather was it the protagonist was the only person capable of fighting Nathan toe to toe.

Anyway, I've been reborn in this world and I'll do whatever it takes to survive. Fortunately I possessed the body of the main villain so I should be relatively safe for now.

With that thought, I headed into the bathroom to have my bath.

Today was still the entrance exam for the academy after all.
