Chapter 338: The Big Brother Driving the Spaceship Has Arrived
After glancing at Saitama for a few moments, Eriri quickly lost interest. He wasn't a beautiful girl, so he held no appeal for her.
For the rest of the meeting, Eriri paid no attention to the other S-Class heroes and instead focused on teasing the two girls, Ophis and Scarlet, sitting on her lap.
Although no one spoke up, their gazes would occasionally drift towards Eriri, curiosity flickering in their eyes.
Before long, the doors to the meeting room slid open again. A middle-aged man with a prominent nose, accompanied by two subordinates, strode inside.
Upon spotting Eriri and her companions, the three newly arrived Hero Association staff members visibly hesitated for a moment. However, they refrained from questioning their presence and proceeded with their duties.
As in the original storyline, the big-nosed man, named Sekingar, announced the death of the great seer Shibabawa and presented her final prophecy: "The Earth is doomed."
Just as in the original events, the gathered heroes dismissed the message with indifference—except for King, whose "King Engine" had already started rumbling unconsciously.
Although the sound wasn't particularly loud yet, Eriri, Ophis, Scarlet, and Fubuki heard it crystal clear.
Since Fubuki hadn't shared any details about the memory projections with Tatsumaki, the latter remained unaware of the impending crisis. However, she showed no fear whatsoever. In her mind, besides Eriri and Fubuki, she was confident she was stronger than anyone present.
Moments after Sekingar's grim announcement, the entire Hero Association building suddenly trembled violently.
Seeing this, Fubuki immediately realized that the Dark Matter Thieves' invasion of City A was imminent.
Recalling the devastating destruction depicted in the memory projection, Fubuki made up her mind—she couldn't just sit back and watch City A be obliterated.
Without hesitation, she approached Eriri and, right in front of Tatsumaki, said, "Eriri, I'm heading outside. I can't just watch City A get destroyed. Are you coming with me?"
"Don't worry, with me here, City A will be fine," Eriri replied with a reassuring smile, instantly easing Fubuki's concerns.
Meanwhile, a colossal spaceship had already broken through Earth's atmosphere and, within seconds, loomed over City A.
High above the Hero Association headquarters, a group of humanoid bird-like creatures with wings flew menacingly toward the skyscraper.
The leader, a red-skinned birdman, conjured a ball of fire in his hand and hurled it toward the dark building.
With a loud boom, the building merely trembled slightly. The impact left behind a plume of thick black smoke, but no severe damage was apparent.
Several other spots on the skyscraper also emitted black smoke, making it clear that the earlier tremors were caused by these birdmen's attacks.
"Hahaha! Quite a sturdy building, huh?" The red-skinned birdman grinned viciously at the towering structure.
Behind him, four birdmen of various colors hovered, their wings flapping ominously.
"Let's head straight inside, Hawke, Eagle, Falcon, Kite!" the leader barked.
Upon hearing their names, the four birdmen responded with sharp bird cries, signaling their readiness for battle.
"Eliminate the heroes, and the ground will be ours! Take this chance to seize the land in one go! Follow me, Sky King, charge!"
After shouting, the self-proclaimed Sky King flapped his wings and swiftly lunged towards the Hero Association building.
The subsequent events unfolded exactly as they did in the original story. A grotesque alien with five heads and fleshy wings sprouting from its back suddenly appeared behind the five birdmen. With an arm transformed into a fleshy axe, the alien effortlessly cleaved them all in half.
Above the alien, a massive black spaceship gradually descended toward City A, finally coming to a halt a few meters above the ground.
As soon as the spaceship stopped, thousands of cannonballs, each several meters in diameter, rained down from the vessel, bombarding the city below.
The deafening explosions merged into a thunderous roar, and thick smoke engulfed the area.
Under normal circumstances, this barrage would have completely obliterated City A.
However, when the smoke cleared, City A remained entirely unscathed, as if an invisible barrier had shielded it from the destructive force of the bombardment.
The citizens, who had braced themselves for certain death, found themselves unharmed, standing right where they were. Overwhelmed with joy, they assumed that some powerful hero had saved them.
Despite surviving the bombardment, the residents were too terrified to stay in City A any longer. Who knew how many more attacks the mysterious savior could repel?
Thus, in a panic, families grabbed their loved ones and began fleeing the city en masse.
Meanwhile, Eriri, who had saved City A, remained lounging in her seat as if nothing had happened. She lazily embraced Ophis and Scarlet against her chest, seemingly unfazed by the chaos erupting in the meeting room.
"Alright, the spaceship's attack has been completely neutralized. No casualties in City A," Eriri said casually, turning her head to address Fubuki, who was still standing beside her.
"Mm, thanks," Fubuki smiled and nodded. Then, her expression shifted as she suggested, "Eriri, why don't we head out now? I want to test my strength against this Boros guy."
At this moment, no one in the meeting room had made a move, including Saitama.
"Sure, no problem," Eriri replied with a grin.
Although Eriri had originally come to witness the battle between Saitama and Boros at Fubuki's invitation, it didn't really matter to her who fought in the end.
Whether it was Saitama or Fubuki battling Boros, it was all the same to her.
Currently, Fubuki was at Level 6, Stage 2—a solid planetary-level fighter. While there might be some gaps in combat experience, her raw strength far surpassed Boros.
After all, even at full power, Boros was only around Level 5, Stage 9.
Hearing their conversation, Tatsumaki immediately turned her attention toward them, her gaze sharp.
"Fubuki, do you know something? Who's Boros? Why are you keeping this from me?" Tatsumaki asked, her tone filled with displeasure.
"Sister, this isn't the time for explanations. Just come with us and you'll see for yourself," Fubuki replied nonchalantly, unfazed by Tatsumaki's questioning.
Even in the past, she wouldn't have let Tatsumaki dictate her actions, let alone now.
"Hmph, what are we waiting for? Let's head out!" Tatsumaki snorted, a green glow radiating from around her body as she floated up from her seat.
Before she could fly towards the conference room door, Eriri immediately used teleportation, taking Tatsumaki and Fubuki with her, vanishing from the room.
The sudden disappearance of Eriri and the others left the observing S-Class heroes momentarily stunned. However, they quickly brushed it off, knowing that this world was filled with strange and mysterious abilities.
One person, however, was an exception—Saitama, who was sitting next to Genos.
He hadn't even noticed how Eriri and the others had left, which piqued his curiosity. It made him think that there was definitely someone among them who was incredibly strong.
After all, with his vision, no matter how fast someone moved, he should have been able to track their movement trajectory with ease.
If he could fight that person...
The thought sent a rare thrill through Saitama's heart, a feeling he hadn't experienced in a long time, reinforcing his suspicion.
Without hesitation, he smashed through the conference room ceiling and leaped onto the rooftop of the Hero Association building through the hole he created.
"Sensei..." Seeing Saitama leave, Genos immediately followed suit, jumping through the hole after him.
The remaining S-Class heroes and the three Hero Association staff members exchanged confused glances.
"It seems something unusual is happening outside. I should go take a look," Bang (Silver Fang) stroked his beard thoughtfully, then stood up, walking toward the hole before leaping onto the rooftop.
"Since Silver Fang has gone, I can't fall behind. I'll go ahead," said Atomic Samurai, chewing on a toothpick as he grabbed his long katana and followed Bang through the hole.
Like a chain reaction, the rest of the S-Class heroes, except for Watchdog Man, Zombieman, Pig God, and Flashy Flash, all climbed through the hole toward the rooftop.
The four who stayed behind soon disappeared from the conference room as well, leaving Sekingar and the other two Hero Association staff members bewildered and staring at each other in silence.
…
When Eriri and her group arrived on the rooftop, they were immediately confronted with a grotesque alien figure hovering in the air—Melzargard, his five grotesque heads clustered together.
"What is this? A monster?" Tatsumaki looked at the alien with disgust and said disdainfully, "If that's the case, then there's no need for you to keep living. Die!"
Without hesitation, Tatsumaki unleashed her immense psychokinetic power, gripping Melzargard and compressing his massive, several-meter-tall body into a tightly packed ball of flesh no more than a dozen centimeters in diameter.
"Hmph, too weak."
Thinking that Melzargard was already dead, Tatsumaki released her psychic grip, letting the ball of flesh fall freely.
However, before it could drop a few meters, the mass of flesh began writhing and expanding. In the blink of an eye, the alien regained its original form, standing completely unharmed before Eriri and the others once again.
"Hmm? It's still not dead?" Tatsumaki looked at Melzargard with a puzzled expression.
Meanwhile, the fully regenerated Melzargard flapped his fleshy wings and flew rapidly towards the rooftop where Eriri and the others stood. His five heads continued muttering to themselves:
"What is that?"
"A powerful creature of this planet."
"A similar ability to Geryuganshoop."
"Threat detected, must be eliminated."
"Agreed."
As Melzargard rapidly approached, Tatsumaki's brows furrowed slightly.
"What a hassle."
At that moment, Fubuki suddenly spoke up, "Sister, this alien has five marble-sized cores inside its body. Unless the cores are destroyed, he can regenerate indefinitely."
Eriri simply watched the scene unfold quietly, as she had come here purely to observe. Meanwhile, Ophis and Scarlet stood obediently on either side of her, each holding one of her hands.
"I see, so all I need to do is erase him completely, right?" Tatsumaki, still floating in the air, nodded in understanding, her face breaking into a sinister smile.
She once again unleashed her psychokinetic power on Melzargard. The alien, confident that Tatsumaki had already shown her full strength earlier, didn't take her attack seriously. As long as his cores remained intact, he believed himself invincible.
However, Tatsumaki's previous attack had been merely a casual effort, far from her full capabilities. This time, she was serious. The immense force of her psychic power surged dozens of times stronger than before, compressing Melzargard into a tiny ball of flesh, no larger than ten centimeters in diameter.
The compression did not stop there. As the seconds ticked by, the ball shrank smaller and smaller until it finally vanished completely from existence.
And just like that, Melzargard, one of the top three warriors of the Dark Matter Thieves, was effortlessly eliminated by Tatsumaki.
Before Tatsumaki could turn to question Fubuki about the massive spaceship hovering above them, a calm voice tinged with a hint of surprise echoed from behind.
"Wow... you're actually pretty strong."
Saitama had emerged from the hole he had made in the headquarters, his white cape billowing in the wind, and his shiny bald head gleaming under the sunlight.
Tatsumaki glanced at Saitama and immediately scowled, snapping at him impatiently, "Huh? It's you again, that little B-class nobody! What are you doing up here? Are you looking to die? Get lost already!"
Saitama, seeing Tatsumaki's usual arrogant attitude, felt a sense of deja vu from their first meeting inside the Hero Association. He sighed internally but chose not to waste time arguing with her.
His instincts told him that Tatsumaki wasn't the powerful opponent he was looking for, even after watching her take down Melzargard.
Instead, his gaze shifted to Eriri and Fubuki, ignoring Ophis and Scarlet, assuming they were just children.
"Hey, which one of you is the strongest? Come fight me!" Saitama asked expectantly, his eyes lighting up with anticipation as he looked at Eriri and Fubuki.
