Chapter 303: Eriri's Energy
It had been three days since Eriri and her companions returned to the Saekano world, and during this time, Antilene and Ibiruai (Evileye) had fully integrated into the household.
Eriri had even taken the time to use the Lord God's fragment she had preserved to transform Antilene into a reincarnator no longer bound by the control of the Lord God Space.
However, for now, she had no intention of immediately entering the Lord God Space to accept its arrangements or travel to other worlds. She was waiting for Zixin and her team to complete their mission in the Attack on Titan world before joining them in the Lord God Space.
To ensure Antilene's safety in the reincarnation worlds, Eriri had set up a defensive mechanism on her, capable of withstanding all attacks below the eighth level. This defense would only activate in situations that posed a direct threat to Antilene's life.
Over these three days, Ibiruai had also completely embraced her role as a maid. She now wore the same black-and-white maid uniform as Aoi Kujo and Athena, looking undeniably adorable.
This afternoon, when Eriri and her companions returned home from school, they discovered that the house had four additional visitors they hadn't seen for a while.
These were Yukino Yukinoshita, Haruno Yukinoshita, Akino Yukinoshita, and their mother, Mrs. Yukinoshita, who had come from the OreGairu world.
"Eriri, long time no see! I missed you so much!" The moment Akino saw Eriri walk through the door, she excitedly rushed forward and embraced her.
Eriri opened her arms and hugged Akino back, her voice full of joy. "Long time no see, Akino! I missed you too!"
Watching this display of closeness, Yukino pouted slightly in discontent, while Haruno observed the two thoughtfully, her eyes darting back and forth as though plotting something.
As for Mrs. Yukinoshita, she simply smiled warmly as she watched the interaction.
The three of them soon joined Eriri, and Mrs. Yukinoshita, dressed in a kimono, chuckled lightly as she said to Eriri, "I hope we're not intruding. I wonder if we're welcome here, Eriri?"
"Of course, you're welcome, Auntie, Haruno-nee, and little Yukino! Welcome to our home!" Eriri said cheerfully, releasing Akino and greeting the other three with a smile.
Although they each had their own thoughts, Haruno and Yukino politely exchanged greetings with Eriri and her companions.
Standing next to Eriri, Aletheia and the others were all staring curiously at Yukino. While they had heard of Akino having a twin sister who looked exactly like her, seeing her in person still came as a surprise.
Identical twins weren't unheard of, but to look so utterly indistinguishable was something they were witnessing for the first time.
A few minutes later, Eriri and Mrs. Yukinoshita sat opposite each other on the sofas in the living room. Meanwhile, Yukino and Haruno had been taken on a tour of the villa by Akino.
"By the way, Eriri, is your mother at home? I've been particularly looking forward to meeting her this time," Mrs. Yukinoshita said after taking a sip of tea.
Ever since Eriri had mentioned Miss Sayuri in passing during their previous meeting, Mrs. Yukinoshita had eagerly anticipated meeting her.
So, when she learned that Akino was planning to bring Yukino to the Saekano world, Mrs. Yukinoshita immediately decided to tag along as a guest. Haruno's inclusion in the visit was incidental.
"She's not here at the moment, but she should be arriving soon."
Over the past few days, Miss Sayuri had made it a habit to visit Eriri's house every afternoon, partly to see her beloved daughter and partly to enjoy Aoi Kujo's delicious dinners.
Speak of the devil, and she shall appear. In just a few minutes, Miss Sayuri, dressed in a purple kimono, cheerfully walked into the living room.
As soon as she saw Eriri, Miss Sayuri's face lit up with a radiant smile, and she dashed over.
"Eriri-chan, Mommy's here again!"
Miss Sayuri didn't seem to notice or care about the other people in the room. Without hesitation, she wrapped Eriri in a tight hug, rubbing her cheek affectionately against her daughter's face.
Eriri didn't resist and allowed her mother to nuzzle her for a moment before patting her on the back and softly saying, "Okay, okay, Mom, that's enough for now. We have guests."
It was only after hearing Eriri's words that Miss Sayuri noticed Mrs. Yukinoshita sitting on the sofa opposite Eriri.
"Eriri, who is this?" Miss Sayuri asked curiously, though she made no move to let go of her daughter.
According to her logic, hugging Eriri was a necessary daily ritual to replenish her "Eriri energy."
Having been apart from Eriri for several days when her daughter left the Saekano world, Miss Sayuri was determined to make up for the lost energy over the past few days.
Before Eriri could respond, Mrs. Yukinoshita spoke first. "Good day, Mrs. Sawamura. I'm Akino's mother."
Seeing how close and affectionate Miss Sayuri and Eriri were, a trace of envy flashed in Mrs. Yukinoshita's eyes.
As a strict mother, she had never shared such intimate interactions with Akino or her other daughters. Their usual interactions were formal and serious.
Although her relationship with her daughters had softened somewhat after Yukino's disappearance, the change was minimal at best.
At the same time, Mrs. Yukinoshita was stunned by Miss Sayuri's youthful appearance. Despite her own careful self-care, which allowed her to look like a woman in her thirties despite being in her forties, she still couldn't compare to Miss Sayuri's youthful, almost girl-like demeanor.
"So, you're Mrs. Yukinoshita! No wonder I thought you looked familiar— Akino resembles you quite a bit," Miss Sayuri said with a look of realization.
"Thank you for taking care of Akino the other day," Mrs. Yukinoshita replied with a polite smile.
At this moment, Eriri suddenly said to Miss Sayuri, "Mom, why don't you and Aunt Yukinoshita have a chat? I'll go find Akino and the others to play."
Eriri patted Miss Sayuri's arm, signaling her to release her, but of course, Miss Sayuri wasn't going to agree so easily.
"Wait, my darling! Mommy hasn't finished replenishing today's dose of Eriri energy!" Miss Sayuri protested stubbornly.
She tightened her arms even further, pulling Eriri even closer to her.
"Alright, alright, Mom. I promise to let you hug me as much as you want later. For now, why don't you focus on entertaining Aunt Yukinoshita?" Eriri said, her tone filled with helplessness.
Miss Sayuri's eyes lit up at Eriri's promise. "You said it! Don't you dare go back on your word later."
"Yes, yes, I promise," Eriri replied with a resigned sigh.
After receiving Eriri's promise, Miss Sayuri reluctantly let go of her embrace. However, the thought of being able to hug her beloved daughter as much as she wanted later made her instantly cheerful.
After Eriri left, the living room was left with just Miss Sayuri and Mrs. Yukinoshita.
Miss Sayuri wasn't entirely unfamiliar with Mrs. Yukinoshita, as Eriri had previously told her about the events in the OreGairu world and mentioned introducing her to Akino's mother.
Miss Sayuri had been looking forward to this day for quite some time.
"Mrs. Sawamura, your relationship with your daughter is truly admirable," Mrs. Yukinoshita said with a look of envy.
"Of course! My little darling is just too adorable!" Miss Sayuri responded unabashedly, showering Eriri with praise.
Mrs. Yukinoshita didn't show any surprise at her words because she understood that Miss Sayuri was simply speaking the truth.
Even she had to admit that every time she saw Eriri, she was struck by her beauty and charm.
"By the way, Mrs. Yukinoshita, I heard from my little darling that you also love wearing kimonos?"
"That's correct…"
"…"
As the conversation deepened, the relationship between Miss Sayuri and Mrs. Yukinoshita gradually became more comfortable. It seemed it wouldn't take long for them to become good friends, perhaps even close confidantes.
After leaving the living room, Eriri quickly found Akino, Yukino, and Haruno strolling through the villa's garden.
At that moment, they were admiring the eternally blooming cherry blossoms in the front courtyard.
The evenly spaced rows of cherry blossom trees, petals fluttering in the wind, a ground carpeted with a sea of cherry blossoms, and a canopy of pink blossoms overhead created a scene that seemed straight out of a painting.
Seeing this picturesque view for the first time, Yukino and Haruno couldn't help but be captivated by it.
"Haruno-nee, Yukino, are you enjoying yourselves?"
Eriri's voice suddenly rang out, snapping Yukino and Haruno out of their reverie.
Upon seeing Eriri, Akino immediately rushed to her side and grabbed her arm. "Eriri, you're here! Didn't you stay back to talk with my mom?"
"Mm, my mom is chatting with your mother now."
"Huh? Miss Sayuri is here? I haven't greeted her yet."
Akino seemed a little nervous. Although it wasn't her first time meeting Miss Sayuri, her relationship with Eriri had now been solidified, making this meeting with Miss Sayuri feel completely different from before.
"Yes, she just arrived. Didn't you notice her?"
Eriri sounded puzzled. The cherry blossom-lined road was the only path for cars to take, and Miss Sayuri had driven here in her car, so it didn't make sense for Akino and the others not to notice.
"Uh… we just came from that side," Akino explained, pointing to the courtyard behind her.
"I see, that makes sense." Eriri nodded, then stopped Akino, who seemed eager to go greet Miss Sayuri immediately.
"No need to be so anxious. Just act as you normally would. You can greet her later; it's not urgent."
"Mm, alright!" Akino agreed, her tone much more relaxed.
Seeing the conversation between Eriri and Akino come to a pause, Haruno immediately approached Eriri with a curious look on her face.
"Eriri, how is this even possible? It's already June, yet the cherry blossoms are still blooming so beautifully. It's unbelievable," Haruno asked with wide-eyed curiosity.
Yukino, standing nearby, also looked at Eriri with equal interest.
While they had been exploring other parts of the villa, they had learned that it was currently June in the Saekano world, which made the sight of cherry blossoms this season all the more shocking.
Furthermore, the ground was thickly carpeted with cherry blossom petals. Normally, by this time of year, cherry trees would either be bare or nearly so, yet these trees were brimming with blossoms in full bloom.
"Isn't it simple? Just keep the time around these cherry trees permanently frozen at their peak bloom," Eriri replied casually, as though discussing the simplest of matters.
"…" Haruno was so stunned by the revelation that she was momentarily rendered speechless.
Although she already knew Eriri's powers were extraordinary, experiencing such a display firsthand left her feeling utterly amazed.
"Alright, don't overthink it. Let's keep exploring. There are plenty of other beautiful sights here, and lots of fun places to check out," Eriri said, taking the lead alongside Akino, as they guided Yukino and Haruno to the next destination.
Time quickly passed, and soon it was evening, a little past 6 PM, which meant it was time for dinner.
Miss Sayuri and Mrs. Yukinoshita had finished their conversation over an hour ago, but Eriri and the three Yukinoshita sisters had spent a longer time exploring the villa. However, even that had come to an end about half an hour ago.
Mrs. Yukinoshita hadn't been in a hurry to return to the OreGairu world. While she usually had her hands full managing the family business, clearing half a day from her schedule was something she could easily manage.
During this half hour, Eriri had essentially been held in Miss Sayuri's arms as her mother continued "replenishing Eriri energy." It was only when it was finally time for dinner that Miss Sayuri reluctantly released her daughter.
Given that Miss Sayuri and Eriri were similar in size, it wasn't possible for her to hold Eriri on her lap like a child during dinner; otherwise, she certainly wouldn't have let go.
Tonight's dinner was as lavish as usual, though the portions had been increased slightly to accommodate four additional guests.
The beautifully presented and fragrant dishes on the table made Yukino, Haruno, and Mrs. Yukinoshita, who had never tasted Aoi Kujo's cooking, unconsciously swallow their saliva.
As members of a prominent family, they were no strangers to the finest cuisine in their own world. Yet none of the food they had previously eaten emitted such an enticing aroma.
If not for their strong sense of propriety, they might have already started eating without hesitation.
Fortunately, they didn't have to wait long. Soon, they finally tasted the meal—an experience so sublime that it was sure to remain unforgettable for a lifetime.
"Wow, wow, this is way too good!" Haruno exclaimed between bites of her food, marveling aloud as she ate, her refined demeanor completely replaced by that of someone thoroughly enjoying herself.
As for Yukino and Mrs. Yukinoshita, they ate in silence, their expressions calm and composed. Their table manners and posture remained elegant, but their eating speed was no less than Haruno's.
