The Strongest Curse Master

Chapter 386: Reality Isolation Domain Disc

"Sonia, what were you thinking, fusing with your curseling in front of Ace's family like that? If my mother learns about this, you will wish you could die," Ava thundered, having dragged Sonia out of the Lander house and into her grandpa's old cherry red truck, a restomod 1959 Ford F-350. Her cousin Cam gifted it to her, of course, with her parents' permission.

"He threatened my father. What else was I supposed to do? He is lucky that Janice's potions keep my sanity stable. Otherwise, we would be walking out of a crime scene right now," Sonia answered, explaining her actions. Still, she knew she was in the wrong for falling for Ace's obvious provocation.

Seeing Ava fall silent with a grim expression, Sonia change the topic while rubbing her wrist, "Girl, you're too strong for noob. Your grip literally crushed my wrist bone into multiple tiny pieces. It hasn't fully healed yet."

"Sorry, in my panic, I forgot to regulate my cursed strength properly. At that time, apart from dragging you out of Ace's home before the situation escalated, nothing came to my mind." Ava sincerely apologized to Sonia. She was born with inhuman strength, which only increased as she awakened as a curse master. She was still not fully in control of it, so she needed to be conscious of it all the time. Otherwise, she would end up breaking things or beings. Fortunately for her, Sonia had incredible healing abilities that could cheat death. Otherwise, she would be in big trouble right now.

"Don't mention it, this is nothing. I have survived worse," Sonia assured her friend and instructed, "Drive outside the estate, we can stake out by the entrance."

"Why? We have already confirmed Ace's sister has successfully awakened as a curse master. Let's head back and report before my mother sends that goody-two-shoes," Ava asked, not understanding why Sonia wanted to stake out Ace's estate.

"I wanted to jump Lyra as little payback for what Ace did to me and my family guild," Sonia answered honestly. She was very forthcoming about her grudges with Ace to Ava or whoever would listen. Since she couldn't beat him, she could only badmouth him.

"Half an hour, if she doesn't come out, we are heading back," Ava agreed, as a career bully, she wasn't new to this. Yes, Lyra was Ace's sister, but Sonia was her sister.

"But if Ace is along with her. You hold him off until I deal with her. Don't worry, I will be quick," Sonia proposed, knowing one of the main reasons Ava was here was to test her new strength out against Ace.

"Fine. But if their family is with them, we can only head back," Ava said, making sure Sonia was aware they were only acting within playground rules because, unlike her, the latter was a true thug with a triple-digit body count. She should be locked up in some dark dungeon, instead was recruited by the government with incentives.

"Got it, boss," Sonia agreed as Ava started the truck and parked it underneath a huge shade a few yards from the Lander Estate's gate.

Sonia knew the chances of them catching Lyra leaving the estate in the next half hour were lower than her favorite team winning the championship cup this year. Still, a girl can only hope. However, to her surprise, the Lander siblings walked out of the estate entrance and headed their way leisurely.

"We are in luck," Ava said as she got out of the truck. Ever since she lost to Ace on multiple occasions, she dreamed of a rematch each night, and now she couldn't wait any longer to step on Ace and make him beg for mercy.

Sonia followed Ava out of the car, a little surprised that the latter appeared more impatient than her. Though Ava appeared like a typical white girl, daddy's little princess, Sonia knew that was just a persona that took form due to her upbringing. Sonia had seen the true Ava hidden underneath it, who was a warring maniac craving violence and conquest. She couldn't help but scoff, thinking, 'Like mother, like daughter.'

"Sonia, use the Reality Isolation Domain Disc. Quick!" Ava ordered, surging toward the Lander siblings. As she moved, her innate curse tool materialized in her hand—a pitch-black, metallic ice-cream scoop. Embedded in the scoop bowl was a fiery yellow glass eye with a sharp, slit-like dark pupil. It twitched slightly, as if alive.

Sonia took out a small disc from her pocket and threw it into the air. It flew a few yards up in the sky before vanishing out of their sight. However, Ace knew better, it was they who had been moved to an artificial domain resembling the reality they were in.

This Curse Gadget was designed for low-level C.I.B. agents to help them move Curselings from a populated area into an artificial domain and exterminate them. But it gained popularity for being incredibly handy when dealing with the curse criminals because it allowed the agents to fight the criminals without having to worry about civilian casualities and property damage. However, it's not cheap, so only the best of the best were equipped with these.

Seeing that EAD Matthews had given Sonia one of these even before she got to the training camp, Ace realized there were more perks to joining C.I.B. under her banner.

"Ace, do I have to fight her?" Lyra asked a little hesitantly. Her brother pulled her outside, saying they were going to invite Dee3 for breakfast. Instead, he brought her out of the estate, saying they were going to fight the teenage girl duo for showing up at their home unannounced. She knew they were curse users, but she felt a brawl was unnecessary, and a stern warning would be enough.

Ace ignored his sister, who was still struggling to let go of her old civilian mindset, and glanced at the curse tool in Ava's hand, guessing it was her innate curse tool. He was intrigued by its transformation. He believed Ava had awakened pretty decent curse abilities for her to come find him the very next morning. Otherwise, Matthews would ensure her daughter would not provoke him.
