95 Divine Cat Mii-chan Encounters a Goblin Group
The departure begins, and the innkeeper and others came out to see us off.
The innkeeper and Mii-chan embraced tightly, rubbing their cheeks together, reluctant to say goodbye. Dogga-san handed me a large bag filled with sandwiches for lunch.

After leaving the gate, I had Perro transform into a cat so I could ride Sumire.
“Hey, Nero-kun. This is a battle horse, right? What’s the story?”

Pamil-san seemed a bit distant and lost in thought. Everyone was now on board, so I told Sumire to start moving.

Around lunchtime, we stopped to eat. Pamil-san dismounted from Sumire and collapsed in a nearby field.
After preparing water and feed for Sumire, I laid out a sheet and we ate the sandwiches that Dogga-san made. There were some red bean sandwiches, but Mii-chan managed to eat the red bean part. It seems Perro enjoyed the bread part.
“Nero-kun… where are we?”
Pamil-san managed to sit up and looked around while eating a sandwich.
“We should be approaching the White Rock Labyrinth soon.”
“Really? We’ll get there in just a day and a half?”
“Yes, that’s right. We could push on to Quinto, but it’s better to stay at a village nearby and rest.”
“I’ll leave it to you, Nero-kun…”
After finishing lunch and relaxing a bit, we set off again.
“I hope this is alright…” Pamil-san said, but since it’s the usual, it’s hard to say.
Just past the fork in the road that splits between the path to the White Rock Labyrinth and Quinto…
“Goblins!”
It seems a caravan is being attacked by a group of goblins. Hunters are fighting back, but the number of goblins is overwhelming.
“Sumire, stop! Perro! Sera!”
“Leave it to me!”
“Meow!”
Perro and Sera transformed back from their cat forms, equipped themselves, and charged towards the goblins. I dismounted Sumire and handed Mii-chan’s carrier bag and Lu-kun to Pamil-san.
“Meow…”

“Pamil-san, please stay here with these guys. Sumire, I’m counting on you.”
Sumire gave a determined nod. Pamil-san seemed a bit dazed, still catching up with what was happening.
I pulled the rifle from the holster attached to Sumire’s saddle and aimed at the goblins, firing shots one after another. I hit my targets, and when the ammunition ran out, I quickly switched to a spare cylinder and continued shooting. I managed to land fatal shots on half of the goblins, with Perro and Sera finishing off the rest.
After returning the rifle to the holster, I drew my revolver from my waist and switched on the laser pointer. I approached the goblins as they were closing in between Perro and Sera. I targeted one goblin by shining the laser on its face. The goblin, disliking the laser, covered its face with its hands. I swiftly changed my aim to the adjacent goblin and took it down instantly.
I targeted the next goblin and fired. The laser pointer, while useful, had its drawbacks. I saw a goblin trying to sneak around to Sumire’s side. As I aimed, the goblin suddenly dropped its weapon and stood dazed. After checking, it turned out to be affected by Lu-kun’s charm ability. Charm eyes are terrifying. The goblin was soon kicked away by Sumire.
“Sorry. Thanks for the help.”
“It’s not over yet. Those who can still move, provide support from the rear.”
Despite the hunters calling for help, the battle wasn’t finished. We had cleared most of the goblins in our area, so it was time for us to assist with the rear defense.
With Perro and Sera, I moved to eliminate the remaining goblins in the back. After using up all my ammunition, I needed to reload.
“Perro! I need you to cover me for a bit!”
“Leave it to me! Today’s Kotetsu is sharp!”
I loaded hollow-point bullets into the revolver’s cylinder and two spare cylinders. Now, I was ready to fight again.
“Perro! I’m all set here. Let’s go!”
“Got it, nya!”
Perro and Sera swiftly dealt with the remaining goblins. As I switched to the second spare cylinder, I noticed that the standing goblins had disappeared from view.
“Easy victory, nya!”
“Nya!”
Sera came over to my feet, and I petted her. Both Perro and Sera are strong.
“Is that black leopard yours?”
“Yes, she’s one of my companions, so you can rest easy.”
“Thanks for your help. I’m Elmar, the leader of the guard for this caravan.”
There were seven wagons in total, and fourteen hunters in their group. We managed to arrive in time, so there were no fatalities, but there were some injuries. Since this was unavoidable, we decided to accompany them to the White Abyss Labyrinth. When I returned to Sumire, Mii-chan and Lu-kun leaped onto me and began licking my face.

I informed Pamir-san that we would be staying the night at the White Abyss Labyrinth.

As we followed the last wagon, I noticed a white building in the distance that resembled a Middle Eastern mosque. That must be the White Abyss Labyrinth. It’s beautiful.
