The story of the struggle in another world of the divine cat Mii-chan and the cat supplies summoner

chapter 89 - Divine Cat The next day, I headed to Zelgad’s workshop.

89 Divine Cat The next day, I headed to Zelgad’s workshop.

“Hey there. I’ve been waiting for you.”

“Sorry to keep you waiting.”

Zelgad brought out a cloth-wrapped bundle from the back and placed it on the table in front of me.

“What’s this?”

“It’s my weapon.”

“Your weapon? Can Perro use it too?”

“It requires an Air Skill, so probably not.”

“I see… But Perro has the Kotetsu!”

“May I speak freely?”

“Of course.”

“I’m confident it’s perfect. I’m grateful for the chance to do such enjoyable work after a long time. Whether it will be truly useful depends on you. If you handle it well, maybe people will stop saying that Air Skills are useless.”

As Zelgad unfolded the cloth, it revealed what looked like a revolver and a rifle. Next to them were a leather holster, a leather ammunition pouch, and two wooden boxes.

“This is everything you requested. The boxes contain ammunition, molds, and instructions for making more. Also, there are cleaning tools included.”

The revolver had a cat toy’s laser pointer attached to it, which I had disassembled and installed. This should help with aiming. I bet even the gods wouldn’t have imagined using a toy like this.

I loaded both the revolver and rifle with ammunition.

I attached the holster to my sword belt, moving the dagger to my waist, and added a small pouch for ammunition to the front left. The rifle’s holster is the type that straps over the shoulder and across the back.

It’s an impressive set of equipment. It’s heavy, but it doesn’t restrict movement too much. I think I’ll get used to it.

“It looks good, doesn’t it?”

“Yeah. It looks pretty cool.”

“Now it’s all about how well it performs in practice.”

“I’m confident it will be effective.”

“The real issue will be the reloading time after all the shots are fired.”

“That’s right. I made two spare cylinders for that. If you preload these, you can easily reload each once.”

“So, practice is key.”

“That’s part of it. But remember, guns should be used as support, not as the main weapon. Use them from the back, and you’ll have more flexibility.”

“Understood. I appreciate the advice.”

The district chief asked for regular updates, so I thought this might be a good opportunity. I consulted with him about finding a cat that’s friendly, enjoys being handled, and gets along well with people—the kind of cat that could be adopted by the guild. This could be a two-in-one solution.

The district chief understood and said he would start looking right away. He promised to come back in the evening.

So, we set out.

We bought lunch from a street vendor, went outside the gates, and let Sumire roam freely. Sera transformed back to her original form, and we all started running together. I reminded everyone to be careful.

We spread out a blanket in an open field and let Mii-chan and Lu-kun rest, curling up and falling asleep. Peo was lounging around as well.

I placed a ten-centimeter-wide board on a rock about ten meters away. I drew my gun from its holster, turned on the laser pointer, and aimed at the board with both hands. There was a slight discrepancy between the laser’s point and the gun’s aim, but I decided to shoot anyway.

Whoosh, crack!

The board shattered into pieces—more than I expected. Mii-chan and Lu-kun woke up in surprise. Sorry about that!

I tried shooting from ten meters further away, and it worked fine. The small discrepancy between the laser and the gun’s aim is acceptable. For precision shooting, a slight difference is not a big deal.

My impressions are that with my current skill, the limit seems to be around twenty-five meters. Shooting one-handed produced poor results. Clearly, I need more practice.

Next, I tried the rifle. I started by shooting from fifty meters away. Whether prone, kneeling, or standing, I was able to penetrate the board easily. So, I moved to a hundred meters. I fired three shots from each position and managed to hit the board twice from the prone position, with one shot grazing the very edge.

Peo, holding Mii-chan and Lu-kun, said that the missed shots flew within ten centimeters of the board. Peo can see that clearly—impressive! Given the size of the target, I’d say it’s definitely satisfactory.

For long-range precision shooting, a scope would be necessary. I have glasses and possibly even a telescope, so I’ll look into finding a scope.

After that, I petted Mii-chan until Sumire and Sera returned. Lu-kun seemed to be having fun playing with Peo.

The weather is nice and pleasant.

“Mii-chan!”
