The story of a hero in my hero academia

Chapter 9: 9) The First Underling

6 months later

"Huff" I sighed. It has been a year and a half since I started kindergarten, and it's very boring—I'm stuck spending time with snotty brats and learning things I already knew when I was one year old.

Yes, it was a little useful since I learned Japanese culture from zero, but the rest is useless.

Many kids in my class have already awakened their quirks, and some of them are very weird.

Like one kid whose quirk is called Paper Flesh—his body sometimes turns into living paper and can do anything a piece of paper can do.

Strange, right?

Wait until you hear about this girl: she has a clock in her stomach and can temporarily rewind or fast-forward her body's state by up to five minutes.

Man, that quirk can be useful, but it's too damn weird. Still, I respect her potential.

"Riiing! Riiing!"

"Finally, freedom," I muttered, and some kids started to snicker until they got a cold glare from the teacher.

Damn, I'm too funny—no kid can resist my humor.

10 Minutes Later

"Wanna go to the park, Hiro?" asked my mum, rescuing me from kindergarten.

"Yeah, sure," I answered.

It's not that I suddenly started enjoying playing in the park with other kids, but I've been grinding hard lately—training intensely since I found a special spot where I can do whatever I want.

30 Minutes Later

Damn, this thing is impossible.

You're wondering what's got me so mad? Well, do you remember when I said, "How hard could it be to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique?"

Yeah—very hard. No, actually, impossible.

I thought I could reverse-engineer the sealing symbols I remembered from the world of Naruto, but man—this is a hundred times harder than math.

"Ahhhh," I sighed.

Wait—who's watching me?

I released a bit of chakra to try and sense who was hiding in the bushes behind me. Yeah, that's a perk of mine—very useful.

"Come out—I know you're behind those bushes," I said in a serious tone.

From the bushes came out a little boy, no older than 4, with big eyes and purple hair.

Hmm… his figure reminds me of someone, but who?

Well, it doesn't matter. If I don't remember him, he probably isn't important.

With an apologetic look, the kid started mumbling something.

"Well, boy, why are you spying on me?" I asked with a curious look—but to him, it probably felt like a predator's stare.

"You—you never stay with the other kids, and I was curious. So I started following you… and I saw you playing with your quirk. I was amazed, so I stayed hidden," the purple-haired kid muttered, finally blurting it all out in one breath.

Ohh, a brave kid we've got here.

"You know spying on someone isn't good, right?" I said.

Damn—this kid saw me using my quirk. That's a problem, since the law forbids quirk use unless you're on your own property. I could get in trouble, especially since I was training.

"Bu-but it was so cool—I just had to keep watching," the kid muttered again.

Interesting…

Okay, I've decided: I'll make him my underling.

"Alright. If you want to keep seeing my quirk, then you have to keep everything you saw a secret. Got it?" I said, looking him straight in the eyes.

"Okay, I promise," said the kid.

"And by the way, I wasn't playing—I was training," I added. That made him look even more excited.

Bah, strange kids. In my time, we were more normal.

"So, what's your name, brat?" I asked.

"Hitoshi. Hitoshi Shinsō," the purple-haired and now "known" kid said.
