Chapter 3: 3)Discovery
One Month Later
One month isn't a short time, but would you believe me if I said it passed so quickly? Honestly, I spent most of it asleep—newborns need about 14 hours of sleep every day. That's a lot of sleeping! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to do anything else.
During this first month, the only real thing I've learned is my new name: Hiroki. It's not too bad, actually—I kind of like it. It's even better than my old name, Lucas. It feels special, like it belongs to me now.
My relationship with my new parents is going really well. They're very caring and gentle, especially my mother. She's incredibly kind and patient with me, and I feel safe when she's around. It's amazing how much love and attention they give me every day.
Oh, and by the way, on TV they seem to really like showing superhero movies all the time. I don't really understand it yet, but I guess everyone has their own tastes, right?
Anyway, I should probably get back to what I do best—peeing and pooping myself—since I still can't hold my pee or poop. Learning that will have to wait a bit longer!
5 Months Later
I'm screwed. I'm so screwed.
You know why they air so many superhero shows on TV? Because heroes with actual superpowers exist in this world—and they're even paid by the government to do their job.
And yes, you've probably guessed it already: I'm in the world of My Hero Academia. A world where people with powers (called quirks) go around doing whatever they want—and those are usually the villains. Luckily, these villains are at least kept in check by the heroes. But that doesn't mean there's no destruction or danger. Sometimes buildings get destroyed, and innocent people are hurt before the heroes can even react.
When I realized I was in My Hero Academia, I started watching my parents closely, trying to figure out what quirk they had.And guess what? They don't have one. Yup, they're part of that unlucky 20% born quirkless.
Pheeeew… truly lucky, huh?
Since they're quirkless, chances are I will be too. And let's be honest: without a quirk, I can't do much. With a quirk, I could become a hero, earn good money, rise in social status, and reap all kinds of benefits. But without one? I'm just a regular baby in a dangerous world.
Still, I have to admit—I have a loving family, and we're not poor.Scratch that: we're actually doing pretty well. We've got a big house, a spacious garden, and my dad runs a solid business. That's a major plus.
But do you want to know why I'm screwed?
Because I read the My Hero Academia manga. I know what's coming. I know exactly how much destruction the villains will bring. Entire cities will be wiped off the map thanks to that psycho Shigaraki and his crew.
And what can I do about it?Nothing. Without a quirk or strength, I'm powerless.
So yeah… better not think too hard about it.
Big news though: in these last five months, I started crawling! And wow—my parents looked like they were having the time of their lives. Seriously, it was like the best day ever for them.In their defense… I am kind of a crawling master.
I've even started to understand some of the words they say, and I've repeated a few too. So now my parents think I'm a genius.I mean, do you know any baby who could speak a little by six months? The answer is no.
Still… I'm kind of embarrassed. In six whole months, I've only picked up a few Japanese words. That's it.
Okay—it's time to work harder and stop embarrassing myself.
