The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

Chapter 92: Made us weaker

Vacuse held his breath as he watched the man, power coiled around him and he was immediately in front of Serenthar. He ignored the strings and they crumbled before him, burning away into blackened ashes.

The man didn't speak but he raised his right hand, palm stretched.

All the lightning in the sky disappeared as if it was never there and the dark clouds cleared.

All this happened in half a breath.

The next instant, all the lightning appeared in his right hand and his hand glowed with a brightness that almost blinded all those that saw it.

Serenthar flinched and turned to run but it was simply too late and the hand of lightning clamped tight on his head.

As Vacuse watched, he saw as his head melted, his whole body following until what remained of the Black Accord member was a puddle of black liquid.

Vacuse stared and stared.

Just like that?

The man turned towards the carriage and walked towards it with a calm face. He crouched and his hand reached forward to tear the window away, creating a gap.

Vacuse was too stunned to move, he simply stood there and watched as metal was torn away as if it was paper.

Red eyes locked down on his own. "Me and that Black Accord member are in the same ranks and advancement stage but guess what, I have the better pathway. I have the pathway of the Dragons. It's superior.

"We Vorrakyn are superior, so why are you hiding there so pathetically?"

Vacuse tensed and his eyes narrowed. He knew who the man was. "Rhydian Vorrakyn, High Commander."

The man, Rhydian, snorted. "High Commander? That's a title with little weight these days."

Vacuse took a deep breath and crawled out of the ruined carriage, his brain already resetting him to the current situation. First, he looked around to get himself under control and then he turned to the man and said in a casual voice, "You got here in time, uncle. The heir of the family might have died if not."

The look that crossed Rhydian's face showed that it wouldn't have been such a bad thing if Vacuse died. Instead, he grunted. "I can't remember how many red eyes have called me uncle."

Vacuse didn't understand the hatred that Rhydian was showing him but then again, it was likely because Drenvar is his father and was the Dragon Lord instead of him.

In a way, Vacuse found the open hatred refreshing. It's been long since people who hated him let him know it without hiding it beneath smiles.

He chuckled. "Then you can rest your mind at ease, Uncle. I am now more qualified to be the only one to call you that."

Before Rhydian could say anything to that, they heard the sound of hooves striking the ground and soon a cavalry arrived. They were clad in gleaming armor of silver and red. Imprinted on their chest and their flag was a Dragon holding a thunderbolt.

The Standpoint warriors.

Within seconds they encircled the whole area in their hundreds.

Vacuse felt a twitch because he really didn't feel secure in their presence but still, he trusted that Rhydian wouldn't be too reckless.

"My Lord, I apologize for all of this." Captain Mera, looking as if she'd been dragged through a battlefield, bowed to Vacuse.

"No need, Captain. Thank you for doing your job. You can relax for now, we are in the care of my uncle." Vacuse added the last bit only because the man didn't like it.

Captain Mera turned to Rhydian and bowed. "Thank you, Lord Rhydian."

Rhydian only stared at Vacuse. "It's nothing. The Dragon Lord has mandated every force to lend their service to the Dragon heir on his important mission.

"To the Orcs."

Vacuse blinked because the last word was filled with so much venom and hate that he nearly took a step backwards in surprise. "You don't approve?"

Rhydian's eyes flickered to the carriage where Ragna and his captain were emerging. "Approve? Dragon heir, it seems you don't know how much blood was shed by the Orcs.

"A city once stood where the Standpoint fortress was and it was destroyed by the Orcs. Children and everyone butchered. It seems Kragthar had made Drenvar soft."

Surprisingly, it was Ragna that spoke. His voice frigid. "And? You humans are worse! You killed and eat our children because the adults were too tough! You don't have the moral ground to say anything about butchering!"

Rhydian stiffened and his face rippled with light, the air gained weight as he narrowed his eyes. "We humans eat monsters and animals."

"Are you calling us animals? Unexpected. Animals that somehow forced your great empire to stop its expansion ambition to the west and forced them to a great stop.

"Animals that have won you in war again and again?"

Rhydian's eyes shifted. "When the Dragon was still the Dragon. The Orcs paid tributes to us! They used their child, their soft flesh to pay to us!"

Ragna laughed. "Lost glory. That is the only thing that's coming out of your mouth, High Commander. Even now, you need our help to fight other humans!"

Vacuse watched it all with an amused expression on his face. He realized just how tough his mission was.

The High Commander turned his angry expression to Vacuse. "Your father. He had grown weak! I stayed here in this place, I keep the monsters away from our territory, I keep the Orcs away and all he does is play politics in his castle!

"Once, we would have mustered our men and planted heads on spears! We would have used blood to draw the Dragon on every house while the blood fog filled the sky!

"But your father made us weaker! He chose defense instead of offense and even now, he's trying to lick the Orcs' asses!

"And how do I meet the Dragon heir? Cowering in the carriage just like his father! This is not the Vorrakyn that was known!"

Everyone there stiffened. Even Ragna was surprised and he could only turn to Vacuse, just like everyone.

Waiting for his reaction.
