THE SPIRITUAL SOVEREIGN : RISE OF THE DIVINE

Chapter 34: SOURCE OF CHAOS

The Summit of Odiles Mountain

The sun and the moon alternated in the sky, their transitions fluid and hypnotic. Below, the oscillations of the Source Sea grew increasingly intense, a harbinger of the momentous events unfolding. As time passed, more and more gods gathered around the sacred mountain, their presence amplifying the already electrified atmosphere.

The positions of the gods around the mountain were clearly delineated, reflecting their alliances and rivalries. To the east stood the gods of the Ocean pantheon; to the west, the Ancient Sea pantheon; to the north, the Mountain pantheon; and to the south, the Star pantheon. The gods of smaller domains scattered between them, their presence easing the tension slightly.

Among the four major pantheons, the Star pantheon was the least involved in earthly conflicts. Residing in the heavens, they worshipped the Sun God as their chief deity and maintained neutrality. The only celestial god they occasionally clashed with was Coos, a solitary figure with just two children. Yet even he treated the Star pantheon with respect.

The remaining three pantheons were embroiled in conflict. The Mountain gods and Ancient Sea gods had formed an uneasy alliance against the Ocean gods. Their animosity stemmed from the rise of river gods, lake gods, and spring gods, which led to territorial disputes. Oceanus, the leader of the Ocean gods, had refrained from outright war against his uncles, Uriah and Pontos, partly out of respect for the Earth Mother and partly due to Uriah's formidable strength.

Overlooking it all was Cronus, the King of the Gods. Though forced to tolerate the independence of the pantheons, everyone knew he harbored ambitions to restore order. A war among the gods would provide him with the perfect opportunity to act, a fact not lost on the main deities of each pantheon.

For over three months, the gods maintained a delicate balance, watching as Themis, the Goddess of Justice, approached the culmination of her millennia-long work. Surrounding her were chains of law, intertwining visibly with the massive brass tome, the Creation Code. Using her fingertips as brushes and source power as ink, she inscribed the final words of the code.

At a certain moment, as she wrote the last character, the fabric of time and space seemed to freeze. A profound silence fell over the sacred mountain, broken only by the soft, rhythmic sound of the law chains pulling taut.

Unperturbed by the stillness, Themis pressed her hand to the towering artifact. The Creation Code, now larger than life, shimmered as if it were alive. She could feel her connection to the Source deepen, her presence resonating across the heavens and earth.

In a voice calm yet powerful, she declared,

"By the supreme law of order, and under the witness of Chaos, I decree a treaty with this world. For every hundred days of mortal life, a law shall be established. Effective immediately, for all generations."

Her words rippled through the cosmos, shaking the world of Chaos itself. Around her, the chains of law vibrated, and faint tendrils of gray mist began to gather. These mists—the lingering remnants of Chaos from the dawn of creation—gradually formed into serpentine shapes, hissing and circling the Creation Code.

These "fog snakes" were the vestiges of Tartarus' birth, a cancerous byproduct of primordial chaos. Though diminished in power, their presence was enough to make even the gods uneasy. They lingered, wary of the artifact's immense strength, which rivaled that of the greatest divine powers.

When the last tendrils of chaos coalesced, the law chains stilled, and the mists ceased their movement. There was no dramatic surge of energy, yet every god present felt the shift—the legislation was complete.

---

Themis, though weary, smiled in triumph. Around the sacred mountain, voices of congratulations began to rise.

"Congratulations, my sister. Your feat will be remembered," Oceanus boomed, his voice carrying despite the distance.

"Congratulations, Lady Themis."

"It is an honor to witness such an achievement."

"May your deeds echo through eternity."

Even gods whose domains clashed with Themis' priesthood, such as those of deception and lust, offered begrudging congratulations. Despite their mutual disdain, Themis acknowledged them with grace.

However, a practical problem soon arose. The lingering remnants of chaos made it impossible for the other gods to approach the mountain. Even Cronus, the King of the Gods, was forced to stand at a distance. Realizing this, Themis subtly signaled to Cronus, suggesting they move the celebration to the palace behind Odiles Mountain, where a grand banquet awaited.

Before she could act, a familiar voice cut through the air.

"Congratulations, Lady Themis."

Themis turned, her surprise quickly fading into relief. She had expected him to arrive after the gods dispersed. Instead, Soulis appeared before her, seemingly unaffected by the chaos fog that deterred the other gods.

Dressed in black, his arrival was marked by ripples in space-time that only a few gods, including Cronus, could sense. Whispers spread among the gathered deities as they wondered who this mysterious figure was. Those who recognized Soulis were equally puzzled.

"Thank you, Soulis," Themis said with a faint smile, gesturing to the Creation Code beside her. "It's two centuries overdue, but I am ready to return this to its rightful owner. As for the chaos remnants, I trust you'll handle them as well."

Soulis nodded. Without a word, he extended his hand, and the Creation Code shrank to the size of a regular book, flying effortlessly into his palm. With a tap of his finger on the spine, a golden page fell from the tome. Instantly, the chaos fog around them was drawn into the page, vanishing completely.

The gods watched in awe. In the hands of its true owner, the artifact displayed a power over Order far beyond anything Themis had wielded.

"Will you stay for the celebration?" Themis asked.

Soulis shook his head. "I've already lingered too long. I came only to retrieve these things."

As he prepared to leave, a sudden oppressive force descended upon the mountain, solidifying the surrounding space. While Soulis could have broken free with ease, he chose not to. Instead, he turned his gaze toward the source of the disturbance.

Standing at the edge of the mountain, illuminated by the shifting light of the sun and moon, was Hyperion, Lord of the Sun, flanked by his family. His presence alone was enough to command attention, but his expression made it clear—he was here with purpose.
