The Sinister Screen Queen

Chapter 31: Felicity

Tanya spotted the girl sitting cross-legged on a rehearsal table, reading aloud from a weathered script.

Tanya approached her quietly, a grin already forming. "Hello there, Rogue One."

The girl blinked and glanced up, visibly confused.

Her face was younger than Tanya remembered, less Hollywood, more high school drama club… but she was still the best female Star Wars lead ever, or… at least, it would be.

"That's… not my name." She said cautiously.

Tanya grinned, unbothered. "No. Not yet." She tilted her head, sizing the girl up.

"But you're gonna tear the galaxy apart in a few years."

"What are you talking about?" The girl narrowed her eyes, clutching her script closer.

Tanya's grin widened. "You didn't even introduce yourself. Bit rude, no?"

Tanya dropped casually onto the bench beside her. "Isn't it rude not to introduce yourself to your biggest fan?"

"You shouldn't be back here." The girl said sharply. "I'll call security if you don't leave."

"What are you reading?" Tanya ignored the warning and tries to peek at the script.

The girl snapped the script shut. "You're trespassing. And I'd like to be left alone."

"Are you shy?" Tanya teased. "Don't worry. I don't bite."

"Much."

The girl gave a frustrated sigh, clearly unnerved by how unfazed Tanya was.

"I'm leaving." She stood up abruptly, clearly preparing to escape.

Tanya's hand caught her wrist. "Did I say you could?"

Wait… are you planning to kick her? Because I swear this has happened before.

'Do you seriously think I go around kicking people?' Tanya was totally scandalized.

The trapped girl's eyes darted aimlessly. "I'll scream…"

Tanya's mismatched eyes gleamed as she leaned closer, a manic grin spreading across her face. "I dare you. I'll mess up anyone who tries to take you away from me."

The girl froze… part fight, part flight, staring at this wild-eyed girl who looked half-possessed and too confident.

"What… do you want?"

Tanya chuckled and released her grip, the danger melting away. "Relax. I'm messing with you."

"I only want your name."

The girl rubbed her wrist and eyed Tanya, not sure she should believe anything she said.

"…Felicity." The girl said cautiously. "Felicity Jones."

Tanya's eyes lit up. "Felicity Jones. Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?" She tilted her head playfully. "What's your number?"

"You're serious?" Felicity blinked, still unsure what to make of her

"Deadly."

"Okay… wait a moment."

Felicity slowly opened her bag, hand rummaging and suddenly swung it—fast, aiming for Tanya's head.

Tanya ducked effortlessly. "Cute. I could dodge that in my sleep."

This one has some fight in her…

Before Felicity could react, Tanya lunged forward, pressing her down onto the table, pinning her in place. Her face hovered inches above Felicity's.

Tanya's gaze dropped to her lips. Those lips. How do they taste?

Casey groaned in Tanya's head. Stop. Disgraceful. Stop letting your impulses rule you

But Tanya couldn't move.

She leaned closer.

Reaching ever closer to her goal.

Millimeters apart.

Then—tweak.

"Miss Pendragon!"

"OW—hey!"

A gloved hand twisted Tanya's ear and yanked her back like a misbehaving child. Tanya turned and came face-to-face with none other than Mary Poppins.

"My deepest apologies." She said crisply to Felicity, twisting Tanya's ear even harder.

"My mistress has… dreadful impulses."

Felicity blinked rapidly, breath caught, but then composed herself. "It's okay. Just… maybe don't let her around me again."

Tanya tried to protest. "I was only—owowOW!"

"Enough." Mary twisted harder.

Felicity gave her a smug little wave as she left. "Enjoy your ear pinches."

Once she disappeared around the hallway, Mary gave Tanya a dry look.

"Everyone's waiting for you, young lady. You've caused enough backstage mayhem for one night."

Tanya grumbled as they walked. "Didn't get my kissing reward."

Frankly, you're lucky you still have your head, Mary is terrifying Casey shivers.

Tanya left the event with mixed emotions. She was disappointed that she hadn't gotten the chance to meet Emily Blunt.

But the night wasn't a total loss. She was thrilled to have met Felicity Jones, whose charm caught her by surprise.

Still, as the excitement faded, a new frustration crept in: she'd forgotten to ask for Felicity's number. Now, all she could do was replay the encounter in her mind.

"Meeting Felicity… that's still a win."
