The Silent Deity: Saiki Kusuo in Tensura

Chapter 67: The Eye Beyond the Veil

Far, far away—so far that time itself falls silent and space forgets to move—there exists a realm untouched by mortals. Not even the greatest magicians, gods, or dragons could step foot into this place. Not even in their dreams.

This was a realm without stars. A realm beyond light. A throne resting on nothing, and yet everything—where the sky shimmered in impossible colors and rivers of law flowed beneath crystal bridges made of truth itself.

And at the center of it all, upon a throne so vast it could cradle a thousand galaxies, sat the Supreme One.

He was not just a god.

He was Veldanava.

He sat motionless, robed in eternal white woven from the fabric of creation. His eyes were closed—not from sleep, but from peace. A peace earned over countless ages, from shaping worlds to placing stars in perfect lines.

But now, those eyes opened.

Slowly.

They were galaxies themselves, spiraling with wisdom, with power… and with interest.

"He has moved again," Veldanava whispered to the silence.

"The invisible one… the quiet kingmaker."

Before him, not a mirror—but a living window formed. A sphere of translucent crystal bloomed like a lotus in the air. Inside it?

A vision. A scene. A moment.

There stood Veldora, once reckless and wild—a dragon with more pride than purpose.

But now? He stood tall in royal garments.

He spoke with poise.

He led armies.

He counseled generals.

And behind him—unseen by all save one—stood Saiki Kusuo, the true architect.

Veldanava's smile grew.

"Even the dragons... even the Primordial Demons... have changed because of him."

He waved a single finger, and the crystal vision rippled again. Another scene played.

The black one—Diablo—was kneeling in the shadow of an unseen force.

"I see now... this world is not about dominance," Diablo whispered. "It is about... clarity. About purpose."

A flash. His form trembled. His aura twisted from shadow into something more… divine.

He became a Transcendent Demon—not just a being of power, but of will, of intention.

And he was not the only one.

Testarossa, Ultima and Carrera—each found their own moment of realization. A touch of invisible guidance.

And each, in their own time, rose higher than any had before.

Another ripple. This vision was darker.

A vast battlefield cracked the world in half. The sky had turned black as oil. Stars blinked out like candles.

And there… there came Apollyon.

A being so powerful, Veldanava had sealed him in reserve, a wildcard of destruction. Veldanava had released him—not out of malice, but to test this invisible puppetmaster and teach Apollyon a lesson.

Apollyon roared.

He struck with imaginary blades forged in hatred.

He conjured void, swallowed armies, unmade mountains—

And yet…

"...Where is he?! Who are you fighting?" shouted Apollyon, eyes wide.

Saiki never answered.

He never had to.

He merely stood there. Silent. Hands in his pockets.

Unseen.

And Apollyon began to fall apart—not from wounds, but from confusion.

From doubt.

"This isn't... possible..."

The moment his mind broke, Saiki turned and walked away. Apollyon's mighty form faded into mist.

Veldanava leaned forward slightly on his throne. His golden eyes danced.

"A mortal… not born of this world. Yet he carries the silence of the void. The wisdom of lifetimes."

He chuckled lightly. The sound echoed across all realities. Stars trembled at the sound.

"How delightful."

A being of pure light—a Chronos-Seraph, one of Veldanava's personal scribes—drifted beside him and bowed.

"Shall we intervene, my lord? Shall we acknowledge the hidden one?"

Veldanava's eyes remained locked on the scenes before him. He raised a hand.

"No. That would ruin the story."

"Let the Cardinal World feel his presence without knowing his name. Let them wonder. Let them evolve."

"He is not a god… but something far more dangerous. He is change itself."

The crystal orb pulsed, now showing Veldora giving a speech to his people, their cheers echoing across his growing kingdom.

"In time, the world will remember Veldora as the king who brought peace, as the one who tamed the dragons, and as the ruler of wisdom."

He paused.

"But I… I will remember the one who stood behind him. The one no one saw."

"Saiki Kusuo."

And with that, Veldanava leaned back. His eyes closed again.

The crystal dimmed.

But his smile remained.

Back in the Cardinal world....

The heavy wooden doors creaked open slowly, bathing the marbled living hall in a soft golden glow. The air stirred faintly as Veldora, now robed in flowing violet and black garments of regality, stepped out with a calm, composed posture that radiated authority. Beside him, the newly evolved Guy Crimson walked in silence — but everything about him screamed change.

His crimson coat fluttered lightly behind him, as though the very air bent to his presence. His steps echoed with an eerie weight, each one causing the other Transcendent demons in the room to pause their conversations. It wasn't just power they felt… it was something deeper — like reality itself had shifted to make room for this new Guy Crimson.

Velzard, leaning gracefully against the stone pillar beside the fireplace, tilted her head slightly as her icy gaze locked with Guy's. Then, in a rare gesture, she gave a small, approving smile.

That was all it took.

Ultima nudged Testarossa with her elbow and whispered, "She smiled. That's gotta be a record."

Testarossa didn't even look back. Her eyes were fixed on Guy as she sipped a glass of wine, her voice calm but edged with playful sarcasm.

"Welcome to the world beyond, Crimson. Try not to get cocky just because our lord Veldora decided to grace you with a miracle."

Carrera, sprawled on a velvet couch with one leg over the other, waved lazily.

"He probably begged for it. You know how prideful he is. Probably dropped to one knee like a lovestruck noble."

Diablo, standing at the far end of the room near a large stained-glass window, didn't say much. He simply turned his head, lips curled into a knowing smirk, crimson eyes gleaming.

"So… this is the new you. Took you long enough."

Guy didn't respond immediately. His eyes were half-lidded, his expression unreadable as if he was still adjusting to the immense shift inside him. But deep within, he was brimming with emotion — not embarrassment, nor pride, but clarity. A kind of clarity he had never known before.

He turned to the group, his voice steady, deep, and richer than ever before.

"So this is what it feels like… to stand above the concept of limitation."

The room went quiet.

He slowly raised his right hand, and in that moment, space warped faintly around his fingers. The wine in Testarossa's glass rippled unnaturally. The shadow behind Carrera deepened for a moment before stabilizing. Even Velzard's smile faded into a cautious expression, sensing the raw chaos tied into his aura.

"Before this," Guy continued, "I thought I was strong. I believed I had reached the pinnacle. But now... it's laughable. That version of me was no different than a child playing king."

Ultima, suddenly a little more serious, asked,

"So, what are you gonna do with that power now?"

Guy looked around the room, then glanced over to Veldora, who merely folded his arms and nodded silently, a silent approval passing between them.

"I'm not here to boast," Guy said. "But I finally understand… why you all follow him."

"It's not just about power. It's about vision."

He looked at Diablo directly.

"You felt it all along, didn't you?"

Diablo chuckled.

"Of course. I didn't follow him because I feared him… I followed him because I believed him."

Guy nodded, finally letting his usual pride melt into something else: respect.

The room was calm again. The Transcendent demons, powerful enough to destroy kingdoms with a flick of a wrist, were now quiet, processing what they were witnessing. Another member had joined their rank — and not just anyone. The Crimson King himself.

Velzard, arms crossed, spoke at last.

"Good. You've grown. But this evolution isn't a badge. It's a burden."

Guy raised an eyebrow.

"A burden?"

She stepped closer, her aura a cold contrast to Guy's blazing presence.

"The world looks smaller now, doesn't it? Simpler. But it also becomes easier to forget what truly matters. Don't lose yourself in this power."

Guy smirked.

"I have no intention of being anything but myself."

Veldora stepped forward, placing a hand on Guy's shoulder.

"And that's what makes you worthy of it, Guy Crimson."

Just then, from deep within the palace, a small ripple in space whispered through the walls — a signal only Veldora could sense. His gaze turned subtly toward a far corner where no one else was looking.

There, unseen to all except him, Saiki stood — silent, relaxed, his hands in his pockets.

Veldora gave the faintest smile.

"He's watching too… as always."

Guy looked over, confused.

"What was that?"

Veldora waved a hand.

"Nothing. Just the wind."

The others didn't notice. But Saiki did. His smile widened ever so slightly.

As the room returned to its quiet chatter, a new feeling lingered in the air — balance. The hierarchy of power had shifted. Not from competition… but from unity.

The Transcendent demons had grown once more.
