Chapter 46: The Invisible Knight
The Throne Room of the Storm Kingdom was a place where silence meant power.
It wasn't quiet because it was empty — no, far from it.
It was quiet because no one dared speak unless spoken to.
And sitting high above, draped in black robes that shimmered like stormclouds, was the King himself.
Veldora.
He didn't slouch like he once did.
He didn't laugh uncontrollably or randomly yell "I'm the Storm Dragon!" like the old days.
No.
Now, he ruled with grace, cold calculation, and something new:
Intention.
He sat like a strategist.
A leader.
A game master.
Before him stood the Transcendent Demons, four beings so powerful that the air seemed to crackle just from them standing still.
Diablo, dressed in obsidian black, bowed with one hand over his chest, eyes calm but curious.
Testarossa, in her flowing white gown, looked ahead with grace and elegance, her crimson eyes watching for the slightest reaction.
Ultima, arms behind her back, swaying on her heels, wearing that mischievous smirk of hers.
Carrera, fidgeting with her gloves, itching for action, her energy barely contained.
None of them dared speak.
They were here because the King had summoned them.
But then — something odd happened.
Veldora's golden eyes flickered once.
Not with confusion.
Not with fear.
But with recognition.
No one else saw it.
Not even Diablo, the most perceptive of them all, noticed what entered.
Because what entered… could not be seen.
A boy — plain in appearance, pink-haired, emotionless — stood at the edge of the throne platform.
Saiki Kusuo.
No magicules.
No aura.
No sound.
Nothing.
Only Veldora noticed him.
Because he was the only one allowed to.
Telepathy: Saiki → Veldora
"Prepare yourself. The world is about to shake."
Veldora's expression didn't change. He didn't even blink.
But inside, he focused instantly.
"who is it?" he replied back.
Saiki said "Apollyon, another being with God complex", hands in his pockets.
" He's begun whispering. Rudra's pride is slipping, and Granbell Rosso plans to push him into war — against you."
Veldora raised an eyebrow, outwardly calm.
"The Eastern Empire… and the Rosso family? A troublesome combination."
Saiki blinked lazily.
"They think they're moving the pieces. But they don't know someone else is holding the board. I figured you should know before things spiral."
The conversation lasted less than five seconds.
None of the demons noticed a thing.
And then, Saiki vanished again, silent as he arrived.
Veldora stood.
Everyone immediately knelt.
His voice echoed through the throne room —
deep, powerful, controlled.
Veldora:
"The world is stirring. Old enemies awaken. Prideful fools move in the dark. It's time we act."
He raised his hand slightly.
"Souei."
A shadow peeled off the far wall and kneeled in perfect silence.
The leader of the Shadow Army had arrived.
Veldora:
"Deploy your elite units. I want eyes in the Eastern Empire… and in the West. Keep hidden. Keep watching. I want to know every whisper that leaves Rudra's mouth. And I want every secret the Rosso family buries under their estate brought to light."
Souei nodded. "As you command."
And he was gone — a ripple in the air and nothing more.
Veldora (turning):
"Diablo."
The black demon stepped forward and bowed again, lips curled in interest.
"Infiltrate the Rosso Family. I want someone on the inside — a shadow among shadows. Learn what they know. Learn what they plan. Should they act, I want to know before they do."
Diablo smiled thinly. "A game of deception? Lovely. Consider it done."
With a flash of black mist, he disappeared.
Veldora:
"Testarossa."
She stepped forward gracefully. "Yes, Your Majesty?"
"I want you inside the Eastern Empire. Find one of Rudra's generals. Remove them quietly. Replace them. Embed yourself in his court. I want his council compromised."
Testarossa smiled — elegant, icy, precise. "I've always enjoyed theatre. Time to play a new role."
Gone in a flutter of white.
Veldora:
"Ultima."
She twirled forward, already excited.
"Every connection the Rosso family has. Nobles. Black markets. Border agents. Bribes. Threats. I want the whole web. If they blink, I want to know why."
Ultima beamed. "So basically… total surveillance?"
"Exactly."
She winked and vanished in a violet flare.
Veldora:
"Carrera."
The war-hungry demon stepped up, eyes already gleaming.
"Sarion, Dwargon, Blumund, Raja, Coleus. I want you to monitor all the kingdoms allied with us. Look for corruption. Betrayal. Anything… off. If you find anything strange — you report. We move swiftly. Understood?"
Carrera cracked her knuckles. "Finally. Some action. I'm on it."
And like a bolt of lightning, she was gone.
The throne room returned to silence once more.
Only Veldora remained.
He turned toward the massive stained-glass windows, hands behind his back.
His gaze was distant — thoughtful — ready.
And then…
The doors slowly creaked open.
Velzard walked in — tall, elegant, dangerous. Her snowy hair trailed like starlight. Her eyes scanned the now-empty room, only her brother in sight.
Velzard:
"…Veldora. What was all that?"
Veldora (without turning):
"A new storm approaches."
Velzard:
"And what will you do?"
Veldora (smirking):
"Maintain peace. Rule wisely. And remove… the pests."
Velzard rolled her eyes.
Velzard:
"can i help?"
Veldora (grinning):
"Perhaps."
Outside, on the roof of the tower…
Saiki sat cross-legged, sipping from another cup of coffee jelly, eyes closed.
Saiki (thinking):
"So far… everything is moving as planned."
He pulled out a list from his pocket.
**- Rosso family: Watched.
Rudra's court: Compromised.
Storm Kingdom: Alert.
Apollyon: Still unaware.**
He sighed.
Saiki:
"Yare yare… another day, another secret villain trying to play God."
He spooned another bite.
Saiki:
"…This is why I stopped watching anime. Too predictable."
