The Seventh Base

Chapter 33: Making Trouble

Inside Lucas University, a video along with some news was rapidly spreading.

The video showed Prince Charles visiting the Lucas University Library yesterday, where he had a friction with the librarian Xu Mo. Douglas, a third-year student from the Lucas University Extraordinary Department, was extremely rude and displayed a discriminatory attitude towards the librarian.

If it were just this, it could be passed off as an individual issue with Douglas. Furthermore, it's well known that the nobility look down upon commoners; many people are aware of it, yet they usually conceal their feelings.

What really sparked the students' dissatisfaction was that the day after the conflict, today, Xu Mo faced an investigation by the school, accused of misconduct without any basis, and several female students were interrogated.

Combined, these two pieces of news instantly caused quite a stir.

As the top educational institution in the Star System Alliance, Lucas University, if seen publicly pandering to the Royal Family, would disappoint its students.

After all, Lucas University has always promoted freedom and equality; there are no identity classes before knowledge—this is a temple of learning.

In such an environment,

a group of students suddenly started protesting with banners around the campus, and the numbers grew. They claimed that as the top institution of Lucas Star, Lucas University was still influenced by vested interests without principles.

The trigger was a student startup that was expelled, allegedly for lacking qualifications. However, they discovered some companies with inferior qualifications, besides, they questioned why the Royal Knights would blatantly recruit people throughout the entire Extraordinary Department of Lucas University. Is it a university of the Royal Family or of the students?

Several related events quickly caused significant unrest, and as it was confirmed that none of these events were individual problems, more and more students joined the protest, including many who had been helped by Xu Mo in the Library.

Over the past half year, Xu Mo had been a good staff member in the Library, introducing books to many students. Now that he was being oppressed, these students naturally felt sympathy. Xu Mo, with his role as a librarian, had diligently studied in the library and also possessed talent, was a classic example, but now, because he offended the powerful, he was being oppressed and might even be expelled, which immediately ignited many people's sympathy.

This issue quickly caught the attention of Lucas University, which sent people to try to disperse the protesting crowd. However, the students, fueled by indignation, weren't going to disband easily; they demanded a clear explanation from the school.

Soon the matter escalated to the higher-ups at Lucas University, who began to intervene to figure out what exactly was going on since these incidents hadn't reached them, having been handled by lower-level staff.

Prince Charles and Douglas had wanted to deal with a librarian and expel a company—'such trivial matters' wouldn't bother the top figures of Lucas University, considering it is the most prestigious institution and its high-level staff are not simple personalities.

Even princes and princesses wouldn't care too much about it.

Soon enough, news reached the Library, and many visitors told Xu Mo about the happenings outside, prompting him to display a peculiar expression.

Sorey really was a genius. The situation had escalated beyond what he had imagined, and he had even gotten the video from yesterday to spread it, knowing too of his own investigation.

Sorey was not that smart; it seemed someone was advising him from behind, probably Yekaterina plotting and stirring troubles.

"Xu Mo," Mr. Lu came to Xu Mo once again.

"Mr. Lu," Xu Mo called out.

"There are people outside asking about the incidents from yesterday and inquiring about you today. Are they your friends?" Mr. Lu asked.

"I'm not really sure what's going on; I just heard about it from some people," Xu Mo said innocently, truly unaware.

What did Sorey's actions have to do with him?

He was just a librarian, while Sorey was from the Royal Family of Odin Mountain Star.

He couldn't bear this burden.

Since you, Sorey Brothers, have caused this stir, bear this burden yourselves. After all, no one would dare touch you.

"The school leaders have inquired about this. I will explain for you. If this situation is instigated, after making a big fuss, they probably won't look good," Mr. Lu said, "but Xu Mo, you better not confront them directly."

"Thank you, Mr. Lu, how could I, a mere librarian, dare to confront anyone?" Xu Mo feigned ignorance.

Mr. Lu didn't say much more and left.

Xu Mo didn't want to, but since the other party had provoked him first, he had to stir up some trouble, or they would only be more aggressive.

Only through struggle can we seek peace and win peace; otherwise, we are letting ourselves be slaughtered.

The Extraordinary Department.

The selection for the Royal Knights was still underway, with members of the Royal Knights personally testing and colliding with elite graduate students from Lucas University. The battles were extremely violent and fierce; the atmosphere was exceptionally lively, oblivious to the events outside.

At that moment, suddenly a cacophony arose from the perimeter. Many people looked outside, then saw a group of people making their way toward them, burst into the crowd, and even broke into the Battlefield.

"What are you doing?" several teachers in the Extraordinary Department stood up and shouted at the group of students who had stormed into the Battlefield, causing a disturbance.
