The Seventh Base

Chapter 118: Strong Refusal

Lucas University, where a flying device directly entered the school grounds.

Many students looked up in surprise. It was an official flying device. What could this mean?

A group of figures walked out, and leading them was Prince Charlie himself, handling the matter in person.

Prince Charlie had been biding his time. After Elizabeth took Xu Mo to attend the banquet, he began to investigate the relationship between the two and quickly discovered the ruse; they were not actually a couple.

However, he hadn't immediately exposed them but chose to bide his time instead.

This time, with Mandala Star poised to strike again, potentially leading to war, the Federation Government needed all the power it could muster. Blue Star Energy Technology Group was, of course, part of that.

Field had already mentioned conscripting mechanical companies, and with his father, King Richard, it was natural to think of Blue Star Energy Technology Group. Adding fuel to the fire at this juncture, he knew his father would not let Xu Mo off the hook.

So Prince Charlie personally came to Lucas University, finally seizing the opportunity. Before this, their attempts to lay hands on him had been fruitless, and it had cost them dearly.

This time, he was eager to see how Xu Mo would die.

The group headed straight for Lucas University's Library. Behind Prince Charlie was a figure clad in golden armor, his handsome face visible without a helmet — Royal Knight Sterling, whose Source Power Level had reached the peak of A+, just a step away from S.

At last year's Lune Festival, he participated in the Mechanical God Arena competition and was defeated by Hunter from Blue Star Energy Technology Group in the final showdown.

Now he knew that the competitor representing Blue Star Energy Technology Group, Hunter, was Xu Mo, the librarian at Lucas University.

He had never gotten over that defeat.

Today, he came along to see Xu Mo's true face for himself.

"It's Prince Charlie."

"The one behind him is Sterling, a member of the Royal Knights, a top genius among the Transcendents."

Many people showed shocked expressions. What was this about?

Moreover, Prince Charlie and his entourage's aggressive approach suggested they were here to arrest someone. Who at Lucas University had offended Prince Charlie?

"Hmm?"

At that moment, they looked puzzled as they saw the group heading straight for the Library.

The Library?

Their first thought was of Xu Mo—could they be here for him?

But Xu Mo should not have had any interactions with Prince Charlie—after all, they had only met once last year.

Soon, Prince Charlie and his group entered Lucas University's Library, where no one stopped him because of his special status.

Inside the Library, many students were also curious when they saw Prince Charlie's forceful arrival.

What had happened?

At that moment, Xu Mo was working in the Library, putting books back on shelves. Hearing the commotion, he used his sensory abilities and saw Prince Charlie's arrival, immediately understanding they were here for him.

It seemed the truth had been exposed after all. Although Elizabeth had pretended to be his lover, it had only been a temporary fix, merely delaying the inevitable. As expected, it hadn't taken long to be discovered.

This task didn't require Prince Charlie's personal attention, but his presence showed he held Xu Mo in some regard. Did Prince Charlie yearn to deal with him that much?

Prince Charlie and his party quickly found Xu Mo, who was still bowing his head and arranging books as if unaware of their arrival.

"Xu Mo," Prince Charlie called out.

Upon hearing Prince Charlie's voice, everyone in the Library realized—they were indeed here for Xu Mo. But had Xu Mo offended Prince Charlie?

Xu Mo glanced at Prince Charlie, then looked away, stood on tiptoes, and placed a book back in its spot before speaking, "Prince Charlie, what brings you here?"

Prince Charlie frowned at Xu Mo's nonchalant demeanor. Was he ignoring him?

"Come with me," Prince Charlie said, his tone authoritative.

"As Prince Charlie can see, I'm working and don't have time," Xu Mo responded.

As he finished speaking, the Royal Knights circled around from both sides of the bookshelf, encircling Xu Mo. Prince Charlie's eyes were cold. Was Xu Mo daring to refuse him?

"What's happening now?" Library students felt their hearts pounding. Prince Charlie wanted to take Xu Mo away, and Xu Mo had outright refused, clearly knowing why Prince Charlie had come, yet unwilling to cooperate.

A librarian defies Prince Charlie—this seemed somewhat comical due to the vast gap between their statuses.

"May I ask, Prince Charlie, have I committed a crime?" Xu Mo remained calm, put the book down, turned to look at Prince Charlie, and asked. As he spoke, he also stepped towards Prince Charlie.

Prince Charlie's expression was cold. Beside him, a member of the Royal Knights reached out to grab Xu Mo' shoulder. As his hand touched Xu Mo's shoulder, Xu Mo suddenly turned his gaze on him, revealing a terrifying glint in his eyes.

"Step aside." A loud shout caused everyone's eardrums to tremble, and the knight involuntarily withdrew his arm from Xu Mo's shoulder. Xu Mo continued to advance, forcing Prince Charlie to step aside involuntarily, and Xu Mo walked past him.
