Chapter 105 Douglas's Girlfriend_2

Carter was slightly moved by Xu Mo's words and asked, "What about you?"

"Me?" Xu Mo was somewhat surprised, as he hadn't expected Carter to ask that.

"Students at Lucas University describe me as a despicable and shameless man who leeches off women," Xu Mo said with a laugh. Of course, he also had a dark side, he had blood on his hands, and he used the people around him, such as Princess Elizabeth Izekat Solesal, for the development of Blue Star Energy Technology Group.

Of course, although he had used them, he had also brought benefits to everyone, which could be considered a win-win situation.

He even incited Princess Elizabeth to compete for the inheritance, which was an extremely dangerous move and could have led to utter ruin.

So, Xu Mo himself certainly was not a good person, and these were aspects of his dark side.

Carter saw Xu Mo digress and returned to the original topic.

"The person who knows Douglas best in school should be Avril, Douglas's girlfriend," Carter said.

"Avril." Xu Mo did not recognize her, as he had never paid attention to Douglas's personal life; naturally, he wouldn't know Douglas's girlfriend.

"Do you have her photo?" Xu Mo asked.

"Yes," Carter replied, it was easy to find using the school's resources.

"Send me her photo and information," Xu Mo said.

"Okay." Carter did not ask further and soon after hanging up, he quickly sent the photos and basic information of Avril to Xu Mo.

Avril had long golden hair, a melon-seed face, well-defined features, fair skin, and very pretty eyes; she was considered a top beauty at Lucas University.

She was born into a noble family in the Lucas Federation, though not as powerful as Douglas's family, her family was still quite affluent, and she was now a junior at Lucas University.

Xu Mo noted this face, but Lucas University was very large, making random encounters unlikely, and not every student frequented the library.

Xu Mo immediately thought of Soray, as it was time for Soray's Money Ability to come into play.

After sending Avril's information to Soray, Xu Mo sent a message: "Soray Brothers, try to get her to come to the library."

A moment later, Xu Mo received a call from Soray.

"Brother Xu Mo, no way, aren't there enough beauties for you?" Soray asked.

"???" Xu Mo said, "Brother Soray, are you misunderstanding something?"

"Avril is pretty, but Zero, Princess Elizabeth, Nan Xiangyi... Oh, Brother Xu Mo, you are quite greedy," Soray said.

"....." Upon hearing Soray gossip, Xu Mo said, "Douglas's girlfriend."

"Uh!" Soray said, "Brother Xu Mo, respect."

Was this about undermining Douglas's position by infiltrating the enemy's camp?

"Get lost!" Xu Mo cursed, "Can you do it or not?"

"That's easy, I'll just ask her friends for help," Soray responded, "Leave it to me."

"As soon as possible," Xu Mo said.

"Brother Xu Mo, you're not serious," Soray hung up as he was managing the communicator. Was he really in such a rush?

Xu Mo cursed inwardly, wondering what was going on in that guy's head.

Since Avril was Douglas's girlfriend, she naturally knew Douglas best in the school; Xu Mo hoped to find Douglas's weakness through her.

Soray was still very efficient in his work.

The next day, Avril and one of her friends appeared at the Lucas University Library.

She was dressed in simple casual attire, her tall figure highlighted, attracting quite a few glances with her slender, beautiful legs.

She had just arrived at Xu Mo's location and noticed him, but she did not approach him immediately; instead, she continued to read her book.

Avril and her friend walked towards the shelves to find books.

A moment later, Xu Mo reached the row of shelves where they were, put a book back in its place, and, without meaning to, looked towards Avril and her companion and asked, "Classmate, do you need help?"

Avril looked at Xu Mo; she recognized him.

At Lucas University, Xu Mo was quite a celebrity and besides, there had been some friction between Xu Mo and Douglas when Prince Charles visited the library, and she had followed the incident, so she remembered Xu Mo as a diligent and studious librarian.

"No need," Avril gently shook her head, "Thank you."

Xu Mo noticed Avril's eyes, which were not as attractive as in the photos, not because she looked worse in person, but because her gaze seemed dull, languid and decadent, unlike the photo Xu Mo had seen, which was brimming with youthful vigor and bright eyes.

"There are many books here, perhaps you can save some time," Xu Mo said, looking into Avril's eyes and smiling, "It's also part of my job."

Avril hesitated for a moment. Although there had been some issues between Xu Mo and Douglas, she didn't have a bad impression of Xu Mo; he seemed to be a very studious person.

"Alright," Avril nodded, "I'm looking for some literature books that can help soothe the mind."

Xu Mo looked at Avril intently, and as Avril saw his gaze, she averted her eyes slightly; she felt his eyes were profound and bright as if they could see through her thoughts, and she avoided his gaze.

"Okay, just a moment." Xu Mo spoke.

Was she searching for something that could calm her heart, seeking solace for her soul?

A short while later, Xu Mo returned with two books and handed them to Avril saying, "One is an autobiography of a well-known artist who experienced emotional setbacks in her youth, resulting in losing herself. She thought she was worthless and even considered suicide. After various experiences, she began to reflect and found herself again in music, becoming a well-known musician. Years later, she reflected on that period and felt she had been trapped."

"The other book is philosophical, containing many stories and reflections, seeking the meaning of life."

Avril's heart stirred slightly, and she looked at Xu Mo with surprise as he said with a smile, "Miss Avril, you must be facing some difficulties, but this is only temporary; I believe it can help you."

"How did you know?" Avril asked in a low voice, looking at Xu Mo.

"Miss Avril, if you know me, you should understand that I am quite adept at psychology," Xu Mo said, "If there's anything you need help with, I'm at your service."

Avril looked into Xu Mo's eyes, feeling an unease inside. Although she had some memories of the librarian, she hadn't expected him to be this remarkable from up close.

Furthermore, his eyes and voice seemed to possess a certain magic, making people willing to trust him.

Accepting the books, Avril said, "Thank you."

"No problem, next time Miss Avril visits, you can directly approach me; I am quite familiar with the books in the library," Xu Mo said with a smile, "I need to get busy now."

"Okay." Avril nodded. Xu Mo turned and left, staying longer would seem too deliberate.

Since Avril had borrowed the books, she would need to return them, implying she would come here again.

"Avril, did you notice that the librarian is quite handsome?" the girl beside her spoke up.

Avril paused, she hadn't really thought about it in that way, but indeed, Xu Mo was quite handsome, the kind that made one feel at ease.

"He's also very impressive. Last time when Prince Nilo caused trouble at the library, he threw him out," the girl beside her continued, causing Avril to remember Xu Mo more vividly.

After staying a while in the library, Avril left the area.

Xu Mo, however, continued to sit quietly and read. He had just peered into Avril's thoughts, though it was somewhat impolite.

He saw that Avril was having relationship issues, and they were quite severe, already starting to cause her to become decadent and showing signs of depression. Xu Mo guessed that it was highly likely Douglas was suppressing her.

As for what exactly happened, Xu Mo hadn't seen as they hadn't discussed that topic yet.

"Douglas," Xu Mo murmured, then continued to read his book as if nothing had happened.
