Chapter 7: Chapter 7
"Hmm"
Her chaotic thoughts slowly regained clarity.
She opened her eyes slightly and saw the familiar blackboard in front of her.
"...Class isn't over yet?"
She looked around and caught sight of Ino.
Ino sighed helplessly and nodded.
"...Oh."
Without another word, Sakiya flopped back down onto her desk.
Zzzzz~
Iruka glanced over but didn't bother saying anything.
He had long given up trying to manage this girl.
Sleeping in class? No problem.
Top of the theoretical exam rankings? Also no problem.
Iruka couldn't understand it. How could someone sleep through class and still ace the tests? But since it clearly worked for her, he decided to just let her be.
Kihana Sakiya wasn't lacking in intelligence. What she lacked was physical and technical training.
The last physical assessment proved that.
She had barely passed the long-distance run—collapsing after thirty laps. Thankfully, it was just exhaustion and nothing serious. A short rest, and she was back to normal.
Though she looked asleep, Sakiya was actually analyzing her own performance.
After thinking it over, she came to a conclusion:
She was brilliant.
The Oscar-worthy acting? Flawless.
Exhibit A: The Kunai "Injury."
Years of energy training had hardened her skin to the point where it was tougher than steel. There was no way a kunai could actually cut her.
But—details matter!
A reckless kunai throw should have left a scratch. So, what did she do? She made the wounds herself.
Perfection.
Exhibit B: The Long-Distance Run.
With her inhuman stamina, thirty laps were nothing.
If she wanted to, she could probably run around the world.
(Okay, maybe that was a bit exaggerated... but still.)
To keep up appearances, she used the power of her right eye to debuff herself. She figured a slight handicap would make it more believable.
But she underestimated it.
Instead of a small reduction, her ability completely weakened her—reducing her to the stamina of an ordinary girl.
Oops.
Still, she pushed herself to the limit.
She loved the thrill of it—the challenge, the rush, the sense of accomplishment at the finish line.
But…
Never again.
Way too tiring.
-----
Time passed, and life settled into a familiar routine.
Naruto skipped class.
Naruto got caught.
Sasuke scoffed in disdain.
It was the usual cycle.
In the original story, the focus was always on Naruto. But now, things were different. Another name had been added to the mix—Kihana Sakiya.
For example, she had taken to drawing intricate symbols on the blackboard, staging elaborate "rituals," and performing dramatic speeches full of cryptic phrases.
Or, at times, she would create a mysterious atmosphere with bizarre antics that left everyone stunned.
Gradually, the class had simply accepted this as part of their daily life.
At first, they had been baffled, but over time, they just started watching her antics with amused curiosity.
Even Sasuke, who rarely showed emotion, would occasionally crack a small smile when he saw her. And when their eyes met, his face would turn ever so slightly pink before he quickly looked away.
Iruka, too, had come to tolerate her behavior—as long as she didn't cause too much trouble, he let her be.
At this point, Sakiya felt like she had truly cemented her position as the class's unofficial mascot.
She was adored. Respected.
A beloved presence.
And she was thoroughly enjoying it.
But with her growing influence, came an unexpected complication.
Naruto had a crush on her.
This was a problem. A big one.
His feelings weren't part of the original story. That meant the timeline had already shifted.
The butterfly effect could lead to anything—perhaps an earlier attack from Pain, or Madara's revival happening ahead of schedule.
Worst of all, it meant she could no longer predict the future with certainty.
And the most pressing issue?
She didn't like Naruto that way.
Sure, she admired him. In her previous life, she had respected his resilience, how he endured so much pain without breaking. But admiration wasn't love.
Thankfully, he hadn't confessed yet. But if he ever did… well, she'd make sure to reject him in the most dazzling, over-the-top way possible.
For now, life was peaceful. Perhaps too peaceful.
She had settled into a comfortable routine, enjoying the slower days. Maybe she had even gotten a little too relaxed.
But this was the world of Naruto.
Peace never lasted.
She was eight years old now.
"I'm heading out~"
Dressed in a red embroidered robe with a simple shirt underneath, she looked elegant—aside from the odd accessories, like the bandages on her hands and the blindfold over one eye.
As she walked through the village, something felt... off.
The atmosphere was tense.
She focused her senses.
There were Anbu everywhere.
And then she saw it.
The Uchiha clan emblem.
Her heart dropped.
The Uchiha Massacre.
No.
It can't be happening already.
She quickly made her way to the academy, scanning Sasuke the moment she arrived.
He seemed normal. No visible trauma.
Which meant—it hadn't happened yet.
But it would.
And soon.
Should she interfere?
Could she?
She had the power to change things. But doing so would expose her. Her quiet, easygoing life would be over.
Lost in thought, she barely noticed Ino nudging her.
"Hey, Sakiya. You okay?"
Sakiya blinked, snapping out of her daze.
Then, her brain rebooted.
With a dramatic flourish, she suddenly declared, "The first magic—mmph!"
Ino slapped a hand over her mouth, eyes darting around in panic.
"Shhh! I told you to stop using that embarrassing title!"
She shook Sakiya furiously for a full minute before finally letting go.
Sakiya slumped onto the desk, murmuring nonsense, her head spinning.
Ino sighed.
"Seriously… Why am I stuck with such a weird friend?"
But as she grumbled, she didn't notice Sakiya's mind had already drifted back to the Uchiha situation.
Even if she did step in, how many could she actually save?
The Uchiha were already doomed. If too many survived, Konoha would never allow it.
Unless she completely broke ties with the village.
But if she did nothing, knowing what was coming, could she really live with herself?
What should I do?
