The Second Chance of Reincarnator

Chapter 6: Blessed Ones

"…"

Thomas looked at him, shook his head, and took out his wallet—there were four coins inside, and two of them had the Emperor of Whitesky on them.

However, the third and fourth coins had a square hole in the center, and he took one out.

"Whitesky Coin—has your brother talked to you about it?"

Thomas asked.

"Yes… It is the way to enter Whitesky."

Kael said, and his hand itched—he wanted to rip it from his hands and just swallow it—yes, swallow it.

"By swallowing this coin, you'll be sent to the world of Whitesky. I only have two coins left, so I'll have a way to send two people over there."

Thomas said.

"Hahaha—you expected me to request to go to Whitesky, and you came prepared. You never wanted to stop me.

"You want me to go to Whitesky, don't you?"

Kael said.

"I've lost my heart after a decade of doing recruiting jobs. All of my recruits are dead now. Soul was the last one to be recruited by me that was alive.

"I am now called Curse Recruiter back in the agency. I might start calling myself that as well. It's a fitting name now.

"I need a new recruit soon, or I will lose my job."

Thomas said, placed the Whitesky Coin on the counter, and leaned against it with a serious look on his face.

"However, what I said before is also true. Your parents will get crushed once they find out about where you are. I suppose you could consider that fact before making your decision."

Thomas said.

"I'll be back before they even know that I've left. Fifty clicks, you say? I should be able to make that trip in enough time."

Kael said, took the Whitesky Coin from the counter and looked through its square hole.

"I'll see you on the other side."

Thomas tossed the Whitesky Coin inside his mouth, swallowed it with an uncomfortable look, and then he got sucked inside a purple mist.

The purple mist descended into the ground of the shop—got stuck in the floor—and turned into a purple paint.

"Why did you have to do that inside my shop?"

Old Bob came with a brush, bucket of water, and a mop—after dipping the brush into the water, he began to clean up the mess.

"…"

Kael walked out of the shop, absentmindedly walked down the dark alleyway, and then popped the coin inside his mouth.

He closed his eyes and swallowed the coin—it went down his throat—and then the purple mist surrounded him, enveloping his entire body.

Pop!

Whitesky, Capital City Rask.

"Watch out!"

A voice came from behind Kael, and he felt a hand push him aside, but since he wasn't ready for it, he fell down on his back.

"What are you daydreaming for?"

Those who knocked into him just looked at him in annoyance—and then they all moved on—it was like Kael was a ghost of no importance to them.

"Argh…"

Kael rubbed his back, and then a hand appeared in front of him—he thought someone was finally kind enough to at least show notice of him—but when he looked at whose hand it was, it belonged to Thomas.

"Are you alright?"

Thomas asked.

"…Yeah, people of this world aren't too kind, huh?"

Kael asked, grabbed the hand, and pulled himself up.

When he was back standing, he looked right and saw marble stairs descending down to the streets below—the streets of Rask that were flooded with people in the thousands.

"Stairs… Where are we…"

Kael turned around, and his eyes bulged—a high-pillared altar stood in front of him, its towering structure reaching up to the heavens. Visit My Virtual Library Empire (M_VLEMPYR) for more.

It was the altar of Ten Gods, and it had people coming in and out—most entered with hopeful gazes and left with dismayed expressions.

"Whoever knocked you down must've been in a bad mood after he was rejected for his promotion. You need to get used to that. People of this world can be bitter."

Thomas said.

"What's this altar for, and why have we appeared here?"

Kael asked.

"Follow me. I'll show you."

Thomas said, and following the flow of the crowd, he entered the altar's vast halls with Kael—they soon arrived at a large chamber.

It had ten statues of Gods and Goddess—large like life-size giants—and in front of each statue, hundreds were praying and bowing.

"Blessed Ones—we call those that have received a part of the divinity from one of the Ten Gods—and you can get that divinity in this chamber.

"If one of the Ten Gods or Goddesses takes a liking to you, they can request you to become one of their vassals.

"With those blessings, you can gain power to combat the ever-growing danger of the Rav'akari, and your brother was one."

Thomas said.

"Which God gave him his blessing?"

"Leader God, Suzuki.

"Thus, your brother, Soul, was under Leader Pathway—there are ten pathways of godhood, and each one gives different kinds of powers.

"Leaders aren't fighters—however, with the power of their voices, they can inspire allies, and they also have special eyes to see past deceit and see the truth in words."

Thomas said.

"…Is that so."

Kael said with a frown and rubbed his chin.

It made him think about stuff.

'If Soul could see past the deceit and see the truth, maybe Kang Huang isn't what I thought he was, but I still must talk with him.'

"Those powers do not carry back to Earth.

"After growing strong enough, Blessed Ones can request from their Gods to increase their level to gain even more power.

"However, your vassal must be strong enough to have that increase in power."

Thomas said.

"And that's what they all are doing right now?"

Kael asked.

Thomas looked at the sea of people and shrugged his shoulders.

"Some, yes. However, you can also come here just to pray to the Gods, and simply speak with them. They don't always answer, but sometimes they do."

Thomas said.

"And if I pray now, I will be the Blessed One?"

Kael asked.

"If only it were that easy. However, none of the Ten Gods know who you are—this is the first time they see you in their world.

"You're a stranger to them, and you must show what you're made of first. Thus, I am sorry, but you need to retrieve your brother's corpse without any help from them."

Thomas said.

"Can I hire mercenaries to come with me?"

Kael asked.

"It will be expensive. No one will go willingly knowing that they might encounter Rav'akari. And you mustn't hide any information that could put them at risk.

"If you do, you'll be sent into the Arkhayama's Pit to rot for the rest of your life, so don't even think about it."
