The Scrap Tamer

Chapter 192: The Dragon of Negation

The black haired handsome man slowly walked towards the arena where Marcus and Reid still stood.

With every step he took, the pressure he released got heavier and heavier.

With the exception of Owen, Reid and, to some extent, Marcus, all the others felt their knees buckle under the sheer 'weight' of his presence.

Their instincts screamed for them to run,to stay as far away from, whatever this thing was, as possible.

Clara's hand instinctively tightened on Lisa's as sweat dripped down her face while the being approached Reid and Marcus.

For the first time since he fought Reid, Owen's sleepy expression was nowhere to be found, he got the same feeling as he did when he first faced Reid in that simulation.

This was a being capable of pushing him.

In all honesty, he wanted to just jump into the arena and face him but he held himself back, choosing to observe for now.

Null stopped as soon as he got close enough to the two before him before looking at Reid, almost as if he was measuring him.

Reid, on the other hand, was also observing Null with a bit more than curiosity...Well, until Evo's warning came.

[Be careful Reid] she started, [That's Null].

'Null?' he asked in confusion.

[From whatever bit of information I have in 'memory', he is the dragon of Negation, child of the primordial dragon of chaos and the brother of Malrath.]

Reid's demeanor immediately went from curious to cautious as a frown appeared on his face.

Malrath had been more than difficult to deal with. Heck, they couldn't even end it even when his mom ranked up and now a being of the same power was casually let into the base?

Null, almost as if completely oblivious to Reid's thoughts or even the visible frown on his face turned to Marcus.

He took a moment to observe the tattoo like patterns on his arms before saying, "I never thought I'd see another human capable of welding this."

"Though I must say, you have a long way to go before you unleash it's full potential," he paused before adding, "but it's not bad, especially for someone still tethered to their mortality."

Marcus felt like a mouse under Null's gaze, especially when his pitch black irises started glowing as he scanned Marcus' very soul.

"Let me offer you a piece of advice," Null said, his voice dipping into something ancient. "You're going about this the wrong way, that power running through your veins is not meant to be restrained."

This caught Marcus' attention since, according to the training he underwent in... whatever that place was, was to control the berserker's wrath and this being was telling him otherwise?

"You see, the true essence of this form will only be revealed when it completely consumes you," he paused again, his face taking a thoughtful look, "well, it's either you go completely insane or actually wield it properly, becoming an unstoppable force."

Marcus wanted to dismiss Null's words, especially with those last words but there was always this feeling that something was missing everytime he accessed this form and maybe this was the answer.

Null, done with what he was saying to Marcus, turned to Reid. The smile on his face contrasted Reid's frown.

"You seem displeased with my presence," he stated, as if that wasn't already obvious enough, "the fault of a brother of mine I assume."

Reid chose to ignore the fact that Null somehow knew that he was aware of their identities, there was a far more pressing question on his mind.

"What is the child of Chaos doing casually walking into a military base?" Reid asked, his fists clenched.

His reaction was normal since he had a grudge against Malrath, that and he also saw a future caused by both Chaos and it's descendants.

So anything remotely related to Chaos was marked as a threat.

Null chuckled seeing his reaction. The norm was fear, when a mortal faced him or any of his siblings but it seems like this world was full of surprises.

"At first it was because I got bored," he started, "one of my brother's rift opened a bit too close to my castle so I got curious and sent a shard of mine through."

".....And now, Null said, his eyes turning to Elizabeth who stood at the door which lead to the training room, regretting her decision to give him a tour around the base"I suppose it's to court Elizabeth."

Reid blinked. "What?"

Null tilted his head slightly, as if clarifying something completely reasonable."Is that not the word humans use these days? what I meant was, I've decided to stay in this world and pursue her. She's… fascinating, to say the least."

The entire training room went silent.

'What the hell?' was the only thought that passed through everyone's head, well everyone except Elizabeth.

Reid, knowing Null's identity, was even more baffled. A child of Chaos was here to pursue a lady? Was this some kind of weird dream?

"But that doesn't matter right now," Null snapped them out of their thoughts, "because right now, I'm interested in you."

Another wave of silence, this time, with Reid taking a cautious step back.

Null could swear he felt a chill down his spine and the cause was someone standing in the observer's stand.

Looking directly at Lisa, Null let out an amused chuckle before clarifying, " Not like that. I'm not interested in him the way you just imagined."

Lisa immediately turned red, as her thoughts were quickly figured out. Clara would've teased her if they were in any other situation but they needed to deal with this one first.

Null then turned back to Reid, "You see, your aura… it reminds me of someone I fought a very, very long time ago. A mortal, of all things, who was such a thorn in my father's side that he was almost... amusing."

"The only one ever arrogant and powerful enough to earn the title of nuisance from the Primordial of Chaos himself." He took another pause before walking closer to Reid.

He stopped just a few feet away before he spoke again, his voice sounding a bit eager, "so human, would you mind entertaining me with a spar."
