Chapter 17: Oops, The Truth
As the rat walked through the ancient streets, a sudden headache struck, causing it to pause amidst the old walls. It felt as if a wave of information was crashing down on its mind, clouding its surroundings. Before its eyes, a familiar framework appeared—images from the lessons in the Encyclopedia Ball that it always carried. "I know these things," it thought to itself, "but why do I feel this way now?"
A gentle voice echoed from within the shadow of the Encyclopedia Ball: "You are drifting in your thoughts. Wake up, rat. Your journey is not yet over." Hearing the call, the rat shook itself, regaining its focus. When it opened its eyes, everything around it was still blurry, but it sensed that another long journey awaited.
Just as it stood steady, the rat continued to move forward. However, only a few steps in, it unexpectedly touched something hot. A burning sensation shot through its body, and in a reflexive response, the rat turned and fled for dear life. It glanced back and saw a box, its exterior glowing with an odd light. "No way!" it thought, "That's the radioactive box I read about in the Encyclopedia Ball! I touched it!"
A surge of fear filled its heart as images of death, destruction, and horrific fates related to radiation flooded its mind. It quickly pulled out the Encyclopedia Ball and asked, "Hey, Encyclopedia Ball, I just touched something radioactive. What does that mean? Am I safe?"
The voice of the Encyclopedia Ball responded, calm and steady: "Radiation can be harmful, but only with prolonged exposure. Stay calm. If you feel dizzy or have a headache, rest and observe."
But before the rat could breathe a sigh of relief, a sudden wave of disorientation hit it. The space around began to fade, and in an instant, the rat found itself no longer standing on solid ground. When it opened its eyes again, it realized it was standing on fluffy clouds, gently floating in mid-air. A mix of confusion and delight filled its mind. "Where am I now?" it wondered.
As it looked around, the rat spotted a small bush resting on the clouds, its leaves vibrant and green, seemingly radiating life energy. For a creature always seeking knowledge, this was an opportunity not to be missed. It approached the bush and called out, "Hello! Can you talk to me?"
The bush rustled, and a soft voice, like a breeze through leaves, emerged: "I sense your thoughts, rat. You are seeking answers, aren't you?"
"Yes!" The rat felt a thrill of excitement. "I just touched something very dangerous, and I'm worried about my health. I want to know more about radiation, about life and death. Why do such things exist in our world?"
The bush paused for a moment, as if pondering the question. "Radiation is a manifestation of power that nature has bestowed. It can destroy, but it can also bring knowledge and renewal. Everything in the universe has two sides. What's important is how you approach it."
The rat nodded, realizing the wisdom in those words. "So that means challenges and dangers are also opportunities for growth?"
"Exactly," the bush affirmed. "Each time you face fear, you are also opening a door for development. Remember, knowledge is not only in your Encyclopedia Ball. It also exists within your experiences."
Before the rat could fully grasp the depth of these words, a strong gust of wind suddenly swept through, carrying it away from the clouds. But this time, instead of fear, it felt a surge of confidence rising within. Its journey was still long, and although dangers awaited, it was ready to explore new wonders.
With an open mind and a heart full of enthusiasm, the rat took the next steps in its grand exploration journey, determined not just to seek knowledge, but to understand itself and the world around it.
