Chapter 15: Chapter 015: Grandmaster Guo (Vote for recommendation, smash it here)

Long Wu hung his head, not daring to speak. He stealthily glanced at Guo Yi, who still looked as serene and detached as a grandmaster beyond this world.

Tang Zhan immediately understood what was going on.

"You scoundrel, you actually dared to offend Grandmaster Guo!" Tang Zhan's face was as cold as frost.

"Secretary Tang, I was wrong!" Long Wu's face was a picture of embarrassment.

"What's the use of telling me?" Tang Zhan glared at Long Wu and said, "Aren't you hurrying to apologize to Grandmaster Guo!"

"Yes!" Long Wu repeatedly nodded. He walked up to Guo Yi, bowed with hands folded in front and said, "Grandmaster Guo, I am truly sorry, I... apologize to you. If you're not satisfied, punish me as you see fit!"

With that, the room fell completely silent.

All eyes were now fixed on Guo Yi.

Liu Ting's beautiful eyes were wide with astonishment; her mouth agape, almost as if she could fit an egg into it.

'Grandmaster Guo?'

'To have the power to grant life or deal death.'

So this is the source of your confidence?

Eight years since we've last seen each other, Guo Yi, just what have you experienced?

Although Liu Ting did not know the full extent of Tang Zhan's background, anyone who could make Eastern Brother and Long Wu show such respect definitely had a background far from simple. And what was most shocking was that even Tang Zhan showed much respect towards Guo Yi, even addressing him as Grandmaster Guo!

"Damn it, who the hell is this 'Grandmaster Guo'?" Hou San furrowed his brows and said, "Isn't he just a down-and-out young noble?"

Smack...

Hou Daqiang slapped Hou San hard on the back of his head, warning him sharply, "Shut up!"

Hou Daqiang had been around the block for many years; what kind of people and events had he not seen?

Although he had never met Tang Zhan, how could he not have heard of the reputations of Eastern Brother and Long Wu? This demonstrated that Tang Zhan was no ordinary person; even he showed great deference to this young man, which indicated that the latter must have an extraordinary background. And here was his thoughtless nephew, still daring to insult him. Truly seeking his own death.

The group of classmates was also tremendously shocked.

The entire focus of the room was now on Guo Yi.

Guo Yi slowly walked towards Long Wu and said with an airy tone, "Killing you would only require one move. Today, Tang Zhan vouched for your life, so I will give him this face!"

His words were light, but the pressure was immense.

Long Wu, who had seen all kinds of people, had never encountered anyone with such a domineering presence as Guo Yi. With each step Guo Yi took, Long Wu felt as if an additional mountain were being placed on his back, causing the sweat on his back to pour out. Not daring to lift his head, and it was not only him—everyone else felt that immense pressure.

"Grandmaster Guo, may we... speak outside?" Tang Zhan hastily suggested.

"Hmph!" Guo Yi turned and left the private room.

The people inside the room instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

"My God!" Long Wu collapsed onto the ground, his back drenched through with sweat.

"Let's go, quickly!" Hou Daqiang grabbed Hou San and hastened out, with others also scared into fleeing.

Tang Zhan followed Guo Yi out, urgently saying, "Grandmaster Guo, my father fell ill yesterday, please, I ask for your help to save him. The Tangs will be immensely grateful!"

Guo Yi continued forward without paying heed.

"Grandmaster Guo." Tang Zhan bit his lip and said, "My father has lived his life with integrity and done countless good deeds, if for nothing else, I hope you will help him for this reason."

Guo Yi stopped in his tracks.

Tang Zhan's face lit up with joy, and he hurried over, almost pleadingly saying, "Grandmaster Guo, if you can save my father, the Tang family will never forget this kindness!"

"Very well!" Guo Yi glanced at Tang Zhan and said, "Today you helped me once; I, Guo Yi, never owe anyone. Consider this a repayment of the favor. Tomorrow, I will visit your residence and prolong Elder Tang's life!"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Tang Zhan nodded repeatedly.

After finishing speaking, Tang Zhan hastened to say, "Grandmaster Guo, may I have your phone number?"

Guo Yi gave the other party a number, and Tang Zhan held the phone as if it were a priceless treasure, his heart bursting with joy.

"I'll have someone pick you up at Modern Huafu tomorrow!" Tang Zhan said eagerly.

"Hmm!" Guo Yi turned and left.

Although his tone was cold, Tang Zhan didn't feel a thing; it seemed only natural to him. A Grandmaster, after all, has a bit of a stubborn streak, doesn't he?

Before long, a voice scolded, "Stop right there!"

Guo Yi froze in his tracks, recognizing the voice; it was indeed Liu Ting's.

Liu Ting had just witnessed Guo Yi's display of prowess and was far from calm inside. She had followed him all the way out.

Guo Yi turned to look at Liu Ting and asked, "Are you looking for me?"

"With such skills, why don't you seek revenge?" Liu Ting's eyes were cold as she stared at Guo Yi.

Guo Yi said nothing.

"You must be playing tricks, deceiving us all!" Liu Ting's expression twisted as she hysterically shouted, "Guo Yi, answer me! Mu Zhiruo was forced to leave her home and wander far away because of your family's downfall; Chen Anqi lives with the trauma of scars because of you; Wei Dailin was crippled for life because of you—how tragic; and Zhang Xiaoke was even more unfortunate, murdered by scoundrels, his body sealed in concrete and sunk to the bottom of the river. So many people have suffered because of you, some having their families destroyed and lives lost. Yet you remain indifferent and aloof, do you even qualify as a man?"

Guo Yi looked at Liu Ting with icy eyes, filled with a murderous aura.

"I haven't been indifferent or unresponsive." Guo Yi walked slowly toward Liu Ting and then said, "It's just... I don't want them to die too quickly. I want them to endure the most painful death in this world, to lose everything like I did, to be displaced and have their families torn apart."

"Good, I'll wait for you," Liu Ting said coldly as she looked at Guo Yi. "I'll wait for you to fulfill your promise!"

Guo Yi turned and left.

At that moment, hot tears slid down.

Although Guo Yi was portrayed as someone without desires, heartless and unrighteous, hearing Wei Dailin had been crippled because of him, and that Zhang Xiaoke had been cemented in a barrel by villains and thrown into the river, his hatred swelled immensely. His inner pain became even more intense. Both Wei Dailin and Zhang Xiaoke were once just ordinary friends of his, but they had risked their lives to save him at a crucial moment, and because of that, they met with foul play.

With each step Guo Yi took, the fallen leaves on the ground swirled up. His furious rage had become a wall in the air, impenetrable, gathering the fallen leaves along his path.

Liu Ting watched Guo Yi's retreating figure.

Her eyes were filled with complexity.

'I will surely repay your kindness when I return!'

'I grant you a chance.'

'With me around, you shall be safe for a lifetime!'

Guo Yi's words echoed continuously in Liu Ting's mind.

"Grandmaster Guo..." Liu Ting awoke with a start and said, "Is your pride stemming from this?"

As the lights began to shine at dusk.

Outside the great entertainment venue of North and South Jiangnan.

Hou Daqiang threw Hou San at the entrance and then left on his own, intent on apologizing to Chen Xiaodong.

Hou San patted his chest.

"Damn, what kind of Grandmaster is this Guo Yi?"

"Exactly!"

"He's nothing but a down-and-out young master!"

A group of classmates clamored in agreement.

Hou San frowned, puzzled about what was going on. Also, who was that middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses? Why did the two big shots of Jiangnan City show him such respect? And why did this middle-aged man address Guo Yi as Grandmaster?

No, Guo Yi wasn't any sort of Grandmaster. He must have been playing tricks, proclaiming himself as one on West Street. As for the middle-aged man, he was either mistaken or had been deceived by Guo Yi. That's why he acted the way he did. Guo Yi was now nothing more than a fallen dog. He, Hou San, could crush him at any moment.
