The Rise of the Black Plain

Chapter 123: Days of Fights

Soon the third day of fighting also arrived, and the people in the capital of the Cromwell Kingdom were immersed in constant euphoria.

Numerous places were placing bets on the results of the battles and even the final order of the ranking of the Spiritual Tournament. People truly enjoyed watching and betting on battles.

It was something that could make the blood of many boil!

And while the spectators enjoyed each of the ongoing fights, the experts from the Flaming Empire sects had already identified some names that they wished to bring to their respective factions.

In every fight, even if someone lost, as long as he or she had a good talent, level, and proficiency in fighting, then there would always remain a chance for them to be chosen by one of these sects.

Right now, the fighting arena where the tournament was taking place was already packed, with some fights already happening on the stage all this long!

During the first battle of the day, Luke Nash and Mona Miller had an exceptional battle, lasting almost 40 minutes, during which they used every ounce of the spiritual energy in their bodies.

It was a fierce battle, both the contenders maintained a delicate balance almost the entire time during the battle, but in the end, the one who had more spiritual energy won!

And despite both of them being at level 41, Luke had advanced to this level not long ago, while Mona was almost at the cusp of reaching level 42!

So, by the end of the fight, the young master of the Nash family ended up losing to Abby's friend. And even with the use of a low-level grade-2 weapon, he only managed to fight Mona on an equal footing!

Anyway, after this great start to the day, Mona was the first competitor in the tournament to qualify for the semifinals, which were scheduled to take place the following day.

After that first round had caused a high surge of emotions among the spectators witnessing the battle, the second fight of the day, which was between Kara and Roger, started.

And as anticipated by all, Kara won the game. However, this was not an easy victory for her either, after all, Roger's innate ability was genuinely effective in combat, making this battle even more interesting, despite there being a significant difference in levels than the first battle of the day!

After the end of the beautiful ginger's fight, it wasn't long before Minos took the stage for his battle.

And seeing his arrival, the whole crowd present at the venue was thrilled and erupted in emotions since most of them liked to watch Minos' fights.

That was because the young Stuart used extraordinary techniques, which left his opponents vulnerable to almost every single move he carried out.

Therefore, most people were curious and wanted to observe Minos' fights carefully to understand the young man's actions better. And even if today's opponent was on the same level as his opponent during the last round, everyone present still wanted to eagerly pay attention to this fight.

And as expected, as soon as the fight started, just after the exchange of a few blows, Minos' young opponent was tossed away from the stage in defeat!

With that, the first three fights of the day came to a conclusion, with two fiercely competitive and an easy one-sided victory. Finally, it was time for the long-awaited match of the day between young Davy and Troy.

Both of these competitors were already at level 44 and would undoubtedly have been the favorites for this tournament before the competition started. But unfortunately, many things had happened, and now only one of them could continue in this test!

There was obviously a significant disadvantage for Davy, who had lost his arm to Minos in the second stage of the competition.

Nevertheless, as the two took the stage, the whole arena fell into silence, and even the pulsating sound of a few spectators' beating hearts could be heard...

...

Meanwhile, in one of the main VIP rooms within the arena, the eight Spiritual Kings were comfortably seated, watching the match.

"Ahh... It's really a pity that this young man lost his arm at the beginning of the competition. Otherwise, he could have won this fight," remarked a man with tanned skin and gray hair, with a sympathetic expression.

Upon hearing him, the others nodded in agreement. "In fact, if it was in another edition, it wouldn't have been hard for him to get first place!"

"It is truly unfortunate for him..."

They lamented Davy's condition, although the young man managed to cause some trouble for Troy, he was still being continuously pressured and cornered. And even if he had made a good impression and had a good chance of going to one of these sects, his position in the final ranking of the competition would not be good!

Many participants might not know this, but they didn't receive a random technique when winning the Spiritual Tournament. No, in fact, that was a competitor's right after entering one of the sects.

Thus, whoever achieved first place upon entering one of the sects would have the privilege to choose one of the Silver-grade techniques available in the sect, including a cultivation technique.

But for the participants who couldn't make it to the top, even if they entered one of the sects, it might take them many years before they could obtain a Silver-grade technique!

That's because they had to earn enough merits in order to receive such an opportunity!

Even young Ruth, who possessed three techniques of this level, had obtained them only after winning an internal competition within the Gray Clouds Sect. In addition to that, she was also a member of one of the most prominent families in the sect, so she could also count on that for getting additional support.

However, these recruits had no such chance.

First, they came from other families. Second, they could not participate in the internal sects competitions since there was no such event for cultivators who were above level 50 and above 18 years old in those sects!

So, these eight experts felt sorry for Davy. This could genuinely delay the young man's cultivation speed by several years!

It wasn't long before the fight finally came to a conclusion.

As expected, Troy won, claiming the last spot in the semifinals!

It had been quite a struggle for both of them, Davy had spent most of his energy, while Troy had to exert himself hard to achieve this result.

Anyway, after the match concluded, the audience immediately erupted again in chatter while eagerly waiting for the draws for the semifinals.

"Haha, today's fights were excellent. Will there be a fight between Minos and Troy tomorrow?"

"Idiot! Don't say such a thing. I hope that doesn't happen. Those two have to reach the finals!"

"Hmm, that's right. Let's hope it doesn't happen!"

And while the crowd in the arena were discussing the best matchups of the fights for the semifinals, suddenly a large screen in this arena showed the result of the draw.

On the fourth day of the Spiritual Tournament, Minos and Mona would have the first fight of the day, leaving the final to feature Troy and Kara!

Seeing this result of the draw, many people expressed dissatisfaction, since according to them, it would be effortless for Minos to win his match. However, that was not a thought shared by the majority. After all, Mona had already achieved a lot by reaching the semifinals.

So, whoever was to fight with Mona would have a smoother path until the last day of competition since the powers of Minos, Troy, and Kara were very similar to each other!

Therefore, for many people in the crowd, it made no difference who Mona fought against.

...

"Ehh, I wonder which sects these young people will join…" one of the six men whispered.

Hearing this, someone chimed in, "Haha, it would be amazing if Minos and Troy were to join my sect!"

"Hehe, you can forget about it. If Minos goes to a sect, it will surely be the Gray Cloud Sect," a woman interjected with a smug on her face.

"Oh? Are you that confident?" another woman among the group asked curiously.

"Of course, since his mother is an elder of the sect!"

"What? If that is true, then Minos does not have the right to participate in the Spiritual Tournament." a black-haired young man said with disappointment. If that were true and Minos had such a background, it was no wonder that the young Stuart was so strong!

"Calm down. I did not say everything. His father raised him in the northern region of the Central Continent, so he didn't receive any resources from the Gray Clouds Sect."

"But his mother might still have given him a significant amount of support!"

"As far as I know, that also didn't happen. Apart from his cultivation techniques, which even I am unsure if they were given by his mother or not, I'm sure she didn't nurture him with any resources from the sect."

"Oh? Interesting. Imagine if he chooses one of our sects over yours. Wouldn't that be a great shame for your sect? Hahahaha," a young blond man taunted with a provocative tone.

It wasn't uncommon for some children to feel a certain amount of resentment for the absence of their parents. Throughout history, many youths had already done things like this, even joining the enemy forces of their parents!

Upon hearing that comment, Sally frowned and pondered about it. 'I hope this doesn't happen...'

She knew that Minos had refused to go to the sect with her mother since she had asked Maisie about it. And now that she had remembered this, she couldn't help but start thinking that Minos might indeed end up doing what the young blonde had said.
