Chapter 576: Chapter 576: Another Attempt to Poach
Receiving a call from Angelina Jolie from Cambodia, Corina quickly informed Brad Pitt of the recent events before hastily leaving the hotel. Brad Pitt felt a wave of frustration. Couldn't that woman consider the situation here? Did everything have to be done and said right now? Was her business more important than his?
He couldn't help but think of Jennifer Aniston. No matter what, Aniston always accommodated him...
Filled with frustration, he exited the main door of the banquet hall, entered the corridor, and pulled out his phone to call Angelina Jolie, ready to have a serious discussion with her.
Unexpectedly, Angelina Jolie didn't answer the phone. After several attempts, she directly declined his calls.
Brad Pitt's anger surged. He initially intended to argue with Angelina Jolie, and her refusal to answer only fueled his rage.
"Alright," a clear female voice said nearby. "I'll wait here then."
Hearing the voice, Brad Pitt instinctively turned his head. A girl in her twenties, who had been stopped by security for not having a party invitation, caught his attention.
He first looked at her face, her icy blue eyes captivating. His gaze then traveled down to her chest, which rose and fell like the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
Finally, he took a thorough look at her.
The girl wore a short, tight-fitting red dress. Her face, chest, hips, and legs were all top-notch.
Brad Pitt couldn't help but stick out his tongue and lightly lick his lips. He recognized this busty girl; he had noticed her chest at last month's Oscar ceremony and was immediately attracted. Unfortunately, he was with Angelina Jolie then, and the girl was with Matthew Horner.
Now, with Angelina Jolie and Matthew Horner both absent...
From the beginning of his fame to his relationship with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt had always been as much of a playboy as Matthew, if not more.
He had even fooled around with the nanny in the room of the child he had with Angelina Jolie...
A man who didn't even spare his own nanny, filled with anger towards Angelina Jolie, was unlikely to make a virtuous choice when faced with a woman he had long desired.
Brad Pitt walked towards Alexandra Daddario, cursing Angelina Jolie and Matthew Horner under his breath.
He recalled Matthew Horner's moment of glory in the banquet hall, contrasting it with his own desolation. A thought crossed his mind: if he could seduce the woman who had walked the Oscar red carpet with Matthew Horner, it would surely be a slap in Matthew's face.
Moreover, this busty girl was truly enticing.
Brad Pitt adjusted his clothes slightly, approached the security personnel, and greeted Alexandra Daddario, "Hi."
Alexandra Daddario looked at Brad Pitt, puzzled as to why this big star was greeting her. She politely responded, "Hello."
"This is my friend," Brad Pitt said to the security personnel. "Let her in."
Hearing this, Alexandra Daddario felt a hint of caution. After quickly recalling, she confirmed she had never interacted with Brad Pitt before and didn't know him.
"Miss, you may proceed," the security personnel said politely.
Alexandra Daddario, however, did not move. Having a large chest didn't necessarily mean lacking brains. Spending years around Amanda taught her many things.
Brad Pitt flashed a charming smile and said, "Hello, I'm Brad Pitt. And you are...?"
"Alexandra Daddario," she replied politely.
"Miss Daddario..." Brad Pitt posed in what he thought was the coolest manner. "May I accompany you inside?"
Frankly, Brad Pitt's appearance was very appealing and quite effective on women, which is why he was so popular among housewives.
But Alexandra Daddario was unmoved. Seeing a man even better looking than Brad Pitt frequently, she had developed immunity.
"No, thank you," she replied politely but firmly. "I called my friend, and he'll be here soon."
Brad Pitt didn't give up, "You could go inside to find him."
Alexandra Daddario's gaze moved past Brad Pitt, looking towards the banquet hall's exit.
Matthew had just stepped out of the hall. Seeing Alexandra Daddario looking over, he smiled and nodded, then noticed the man standing in front of her, back facing him.
The man's back seemed familiar, but he didn't dwell on it. He walked briskly towards them, overhearing the man as he approached.
"Miss Daddario, here's my number. If you ever need help, feel free to call. My production company, Plan B, is about to invest in some films, and we need outstanding actresses like you…"
Matthew frowned slightly. The man's intentions were clearly dubious.
Any normal man would be displeased in such a situation, and Matthew was no exception.
"No, thank you," Alexandra Daddario replied calmly yet firmly. Then, seeing Matthew approach, she smiled, "You're here."
Brad Pitt turned to see Matthew approaching, his handsome face showing no trace of embarrassment.
Poaching someone else's partner or fooling around with married individuals was something Brad Pitt had done countless times.
Matthew instantly recognized Brad Pitt but ignored him. He walked to Alexandra Daddario's side and asked with concern, "Did you wait long?"
Alexandra Daddario shook her head with a smile, "No, just a short while."
As she spoke, she slipped her hand into Matthew's arm, linking her arm with his.
Only then did Matthew address Brad Pitt. Although he was quite annoyed, even angry, he maintained a calm and polite demeanor, saying, "Hello, Pitt."
Brad Pitt, also not one to lose his cool easily, replied, "Hello, Matthew."
Matthew nodded and said nothing more, leading Alexandra Daddario towards the banquet hall. Brad Pitt watched their retreating figures, thought of Corina's mention of the Wachowski siblings, and turned back into the hall.
Once inside and after exchanging greetings with a few people, Matthew asked, "Are you alright?"
Alexandra Daddario shook her head lightly, "I'm fine." She was smart enough to explain, "Brad Pitt tried to chat me up, offering work and roles as an incentive."
Matthew felt a surge of anger. Recently, there had been a lot of gossip about him and Alexandra Daddario, and Brad Pitt had seen them together at the Oscars. He didn't believe Brad Pitt was unaware of their relationship.
Was this bastard trying to cuckold him?
"It's alright," Alexandra Daddario noticed Matthew's fleeting displeasure and gently tugged his arm. "He just said some ridiculous things."
Even as she said this, she felt a bit pleased because it was clear Matthew cared about the situation.
"Matthew…" Zack Snyder approached them, the small director looking flushed. It wasn't clear if it was from alcohol or excitement. He greeted Alexandra Daddario, "Hi, Anna."
After she responded with a smile, Matthew bumped fists with Zack Snyder and asked, "How's it going?"
Zack Snyder asked, "Can I swear?" Without waiting for a response, he exclaimed, "It's fucking awesome! All the studio bigwigs in Hollywood are inviting me. I feel like the most popular person in the world."
"You deserve it, Zack," Alexandra Daddario complimented.
Matthew nodded, "Enjoy the moment."
Zack Snyder laughed but remained clear-headed. He then said, "Matthew, how about we collaborate again? You know I've secured the rights to film 'Watchmen' from Warner Bros. and DC Comics."
Matthew shook his head, careful not to embarrass Zack Snyder, and whispered so only they could hear, "Sorry, Zack, I'm not interested in starring in a superhero movie."
Zack Snyder didn't push further, saying, "What a pity…"
After chatting a bit more, Matthew excused himself and sought out Helen Herman. She quickly warned him, "You've got a tail."
"The same guy?" Matthew asked.
"No," Helen Herman gave Alexandra Daddario a look. "Don't look around, keep acting naturally, and don't alert him."
She then said to Matthew, "It's Brad Pitt. Since you brought Anna back to the hall, he's been following you both."
"What does he want?" Alexandra Daddario immediately thought of earlier events. "Is he still not giving up? Do I need to splash wine on him?"
"What happened?" Helen Herman asked curiously.
"Brad Pitt was harassing Anna," Matthew briefly explained, and Helen Herman warned, "Don't act rashly."
She knew Matthew wasn't a saint.
Matthew frowned slightly, recalling what Helen Herman had mentioned earlier. He said, "Brad Pitt's situation isn't great. He desperately needs an excellent project to make a comeback. He previously tried to take the lead role in 'Hancock' but failed. Could their interest in me be related to this?"
