The Rich Second-Generation Villain With No Morals

Chapter 47

Chapter 47: You’re Making Me Anxious, Jiang Lei, You Fool:

“Goodbye, Teacher Qi!”

“Teacher Qi, your pronunciation is the most standard I’ve ever heard!”

“I’ll definitely come back for your class tomorrow!”

“Teacher Qi is truly amazing—not only beautiful but also so knowledgeable. I should introduce my son to you. He graduated from California University!”

With the three free English lessons over for the day, the students who had been drawn in by the flyers were full of praise as they left.

They complimented Qi Xueyao’s appearance and her teaching skills.

Dressed in an elegant Chanel-style suit skirt, Qi Xueyao smiled with satisfaction.

It wasn’t the compliments that pleased her, but the fact that these students were highly likely to return and pay for the classes tomorrow.

That would mark the true profitability of her training program.

“Today, 178 people attended our free trial classes. If even half of them sign up, we’ll make over 700 per session, a few thousand a day, and even tens of thousands in a month!”

After seeing off the students, Qi Xueyao was elated and began imagining the income from a smoothly running training center.

The earnings were exciting, but more importantly, financial independence would give her the confidence to stand up to Qi Lin.

She could even move out of his house after a fight, no longer having to endure his attitude.

Beside her, her future boyfriend, Jiang Lei, seemed a little jealous.

“Xueyao, you won’t forget our agreement once you start making money, right?”

Qi Xueyao was confused.

“What are you talking about?”

“Didn’t you say that once our training company is established, you’d agree to be my girlfriend?”

“You did say that, but that lady just now wanted to introduce you to her son, a California University graduate. Compared to him, I only graduated from Huake University… I can’t compete with an international elite. Plus, that lady was covered in jewelry—clearly from a wealthy family.”

Jiang Lei sighed, feeling a little insecure.

Hearing this, Qi Xueyao was both amused and annoyed.

“What do you take me for? Do you think I’m some gold-digging woman who only cares about money? No matter how excellent her son is, what does that have to do with me? And can you be more confident? Huake University is great too! It’s not inferior to that so-called California University.”

“Jiang Lei, you’re not like the ambitious person you used to be. We’ve barely started this business, and you’re already losing faith?”

Jiang Lei was just testing her. After all, they weren’t officially together yet, let alone married. He was afraid she might leave him in the future.

But hearing her response, he grinned.

“I was just joking. Forget it, let’s not talk about this. You’ve been lecturing all afternoon—you must be hungry. Let me take you out for dinner to make up for what I said.”

“Now you’re talking.”

Qi Xueyao rolled her eyes at him.

But in her heart, she suddenly thought about the meals at Qi Lin’s house.

Lobster, king crab, Spanish ham, Wagyu beef, tempura…

Those dishes were far better than whatever Jiang Lei could afford.

Right now, they were still in the startup phase, and Jiang Lei didn’t have much money. At best, he could take her to a street food stall.

“Ugh, what am I thinking? No matter how good the food at Qi Lin’s house is, I’m still just living there under someone else’s roof, forced to smile and endure him. Jiang Lei is my future boyfriend—shouldn’t I be willing to go through hard times with him?”

Realizing her thoughts were drifting, Qi Xueyao shook her head, trying to clear them.

The two of them walked out of the classroom, chatting and laughing.

But suddenly, a figure appeared in front of them.

Jiang Lei didn’t recognize the young man.

Qi Xueyao, however, froze, her face turning pale.

Jiang Lei noticed her odd expression and asked curiously,

“Xueyao, do you know him?”

Before she could answer, Qi Lin stepped forward and casually threw an arm around Jiang Lei’s shoulder, grinning.

“Brother-in-law, nice to meet you! Let me introduce myself—I’m Qi Lin, Xueyao’s younger cousin from the same village.”

People always like someone with a sweet tongue.

Especially when they’re called brother-in-law.

Jiang Lei was instantly flattered.

“Oh, so you’re Xueyao’s cousin? She’s mentioned you before. She’s staying at your house, right?”

Jiang Lei finally understood, and a smile appeared on his face.

Qi Xueyao had mentioned Qi Lin before, but not in a good way.

She had always complained that he was a lazy, good-for-nothing rich second-generation heir.

But right now, Qi Lin was giving Jiang Lei a great first impression.

“If I were rich, I wouldn’t work hard either. If I had a choice, I’d be a carefree rich second-gen too.”

“This cousin of Xueyao’s actually seems pretty nice. Maybe she just doesn’t like people who aren’t ambitious.”

Jiang Lei thought to himself.

“I’ve heard a lot about you from Xueyao. She always says you’re a handsome, talented graduate from Huake University. Now that I’ve met you, I see she wasn’t exaggerating. Your looks are almost on my level!”

Qi Lin completely ignored Qi Xueyao’s pale face and continued teasing Jiang Lei.

His words were so flattering that Jiang Lei felt a bit embarrassed.

“Did she really say that about me?”

Qi Lin smiled mischievously.

“Would I lie?”

Jiang Lei was so flattered that he beamed with pride. He immediately opened up.

“I was just about to take Xueyao out for dinner. Since you’re her cousin, why don’t you join us? We should have a drink together.”

Qi Lin chuckled.

“Sounds good. But Xueyao’s parents asked me to pass on a few words to her. Brother-in-law, do you mind giving us a moment?”

Family matters weren’t really Jiang Lei’s business, especially since he and Qi Xueyao weren’t married yet.

“No problem! I need to organize today’s student registrations anyway. I’ll head to the office first. Just call me when you’re done talking.”

Jiang Lei agreed readily, completely missing Qi Xueyao’s desperate signals for him to stay.

With that, he turned and walked away.

“You’re making me anxious, Jiang Lei, you fool!”

Qi Xueyao was utterly exasperated.

She immediately realized that Qi Lin had come here with bad intentions.

Now that Jiang Lei was gone, she was in serious trouble.

Panicked, she tried to slip away.

But Qi Lin blocked her path with a playful smile.

“Xueyao, I haven’t even finished delivering your parents’ message. Where do you think you’re going?”
