The Return Of The Conqueror Of The Cosmos

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Weight of Worlds

The next morning.

The sun filtered in softly through the wooden blinds of Shen Hao's window. Outside, birds chirped like nothing had changed.

But inside his chest, a storm raged.

He stood quietly, staring out at the sky—blue, open, endless.

His mind was anything but calm.

Why now…? Why us…?

Nothing made sense. The mysterious figure, the impossible healing, the growing power inside him. And worst of all—how small he suddenly felt in the vastness of everything.

Suddenly—

"Shen Hao."

The voice behind him was calm, but carried weight.

He turned around.

Mo Han stood there, one hand behind his back, the other stroking his beard as usual. His eyes, however, were different today—colder. He was thinking deeply.

Shen Hao broke the silence.

"Master… these past few days… I've realized how weak I truly am."

He clenched his fists.

"There are beings out there with power we can't even imagine. My race—humans—we're not ready for any of this."

Mo Han nodded solemnly.

"You've reached Level 5 of the Beginning Realm. That's impressive for your age. But power… true power… is far, far beyond where you are."

He paused, then added:

"There are entities in the universe—beings so powerful, so ancient—that even I wouldn't dare offend them. They could destroy entire galaxies with a heartbeat. Collapse dimensions with a whisper."

Shen Hao's eyes widened.

"Then… why haven't they?"

Mo Han's voice lowered.

"Because to them… your race is beneath notice."

Silence.

"That's the only reason Earth still exists," he said. "To the elite cultivators of the universe… your people are insects. Too weak to be worth crushing."

Shen Hao swallowed hard.

His hands trembled.

"…So we've survived only because we're useless?"

Mo Han nodded.

"Exactly."

He looked out the window beside Shen Hao, watching the clouds pass.

"But that may be changing now."

Shen Hao tensed.

"What do you mean?"

Mo Han didn't turn.

"You saw that mine. And those elemental cultivators."

"Yeah…"

"They were serving someone. Someone powerful. Someone high-ranking. To control that many elite elementals… that figure must be at least peak Level 9 of the Demi-Conqueror realm."

He paused.

"Possibly… even a full Conqueror."

Shen Hao's heart skipped a beat.

"WHAT!?"

He stepped forward, voice panicked.

"A Conqueror-level being?! On Earth?! Why would someone like that care about us?"

Mo Han turned sharply.

"Calm down, brat!" he snapped.

"I said it's a possibility. Not a certainty. But one we can't ignore."

Shen Hao was breathing fast, his thoughts spiraling.

"This is insane… Why now? Why Earth? Why me?!"

He looked at his hands.

They were steady—but felt powerless.

"Damn it!" he growled.

"I'm not strong enough. Not even close. We're all gonna be wiped out if I don't do something!"

His voice cracked.

"I need to get stronger. I have to. Fast. Faster. FASTER! Or else—!"

"That won't help."

Mo Han's voice was firm.

"Losing your mind won't save anyone. Not your home. Not your people. Not yourself."

He walked forward slowly.

"I know you want to protect your world, Shen Hao."

"Everyone wants to protect what they love."

Shen Hao looked up.

His panic froze in place.

Mo Han's expression shifted. For the first time… he looked conflicted.

Then, he said something that made Shen Hao's heart stop:

"That's why I have a solution."

The world seemed to pause.

"A… solution?"

Mo Han nodded slowly.

"There is a way to accelerate your cultivation. Rapidly. But it will not be easy."

Shen Hao took a step forward.

"Tell me. I'll do it. Whatever it is—just tell me!"

Mo Han looked him dead in the eye.

"And said....."
