The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 456: Unrequited Flames of Doom

[SICARIO]

"What in the world is going on out there?" Elodie asked when the pack started getting blood rains. It was something that was uncalled for and something that even she couldn't explain.

She wanted to say that there had to be a reason, but then with all the madness they had had to deal with, there was no denying that this right here was the chaos they didn't need. Perhaps it was just right on time for them this time, right?

"Someone is getting naked," Hudhayfah said with a light laugh as he watched from the windows. it had all been so sudden, and they still hadn't been able to decipher what the fuck was going on. Perhaps they would have a way out of this one later.

The Sicario wolves who had been outside when the rain had begun, rushed to the nearest shelters as they waited it out. They were familiar with the blood rain and frankly, a part of them was glad that this time, the rage wasn't coming for them.

The woman in question was not trying to have their heads off their necks, so they could relax. But at the same time, they were curious about whoever was dumb enough to trigger her to that point.

It was insane and unhinged a little too openly because to them, no one in their right mind would ever want Awuor Hawi's blood rain anyway.

"You shouldn't be saying that!" Elodie said and Theo chuckled, while Drew and the sailors who had managed to come to the pack house from the operations building stared at the duo like this wasn't what they had subscribed for.

Well, with Hawi there was nothing anyone would ever willingly subscribe to, especially if they were sane enough to make the brown decisions.

The woman was a bomb on her own and there she was out there the more everyone knew that they had to steer clear of the pack that she loved with all of her.

"Isn't that the truth though? Anyway, we have been standing here for more than an hour. The rain should be over soon so we can clean up and go on with the responsibilities," Hudhayfah said and Theo just facepalmed.

He was never going to get used to the Savasci knights no matter how hard he tried. They always had a different set of reasoning and frankly, that's some scary ass shit out there.

But perhaps that was the kind of madness needed to be around Hawi who had proven to them more than once that she was not ready to be saved. Her mental state was always in question, not that she was ever worried about that one bit.

This was nothing to her and Hudhayfah had been with her long enough to know that.

"See, I told you it would stop," Hudhayfah said three minutes later when the skies cleared out and the sun started shining.

The blood rain that had been there earlier, disappeared, not to mention the fact that this time, the only blood left on there was the one on them and not the one on the ground, because the blood on the ground cleared up and turned clear.

It was a sight that even Hudhayfah himself had never seen before.

The blood always stared for assign as they let it and they always had the rough task of cleaning up and yet this time, standing there watching the madness unfold, he was certain that there was more to this than they could figure out anyway.

"This place is getting crazier than I ever thought it would be. Are we clear or leave? Because you and I both know that you have nothing on us that could get you to assume that we killed Jabali.

"Besides no one in their right mind would even want to fight that psycho," Drew said to Elodie who was still taking in the sight before her. She had seen more than enough in one day and frankly, she was terrified of what would be coming next.

It was almost like they were trapped in a series of plagues and the only thing they could do about it all was nothing other than stay on the sidelines and watch helplessly. It was all getting a little too bold and unhinged, that she didn't blame Drew for wanting to leave.

This was the kind of chaos that even she hadn't ever been mentally prepared for.

Nothing would ever make it better for her and she knew that. So instead of trying to make it work when there was no surety that this would be the last bout, Elodie stayed silent.

She didn't know what to tell the man really. She wouldn't let him leave and he already knew why. But at the same time, Drew was right, there was nothing she could charge them with at the moment.

There was just more than they all couldn't handle at the same time and they couldn't be blamed for that anyway.

"You can't leave, Drew," Hudhayfah said, like he was the only voice of reason. He could see Elodie holding back because of what had happened already and Hudhayfah didn't want the two of them fighting again.

It was pointless for the cause if Hawi was out there dealing with the psychos while they were here together and yet couldn't even manage to hold themselves close.

It would truly be a shame, and that was the one thing that Hudhayfah didn't want them to have regrets over.

"We can at least try. We have no reason to be here. Kane is still accusing me of what happened to the warrior and she clearly doesn't trust me. Even if I wanted to trust a lot of you, I have nothing to be here for this time.

"I left Sicario years ago and didn't plan on coming back. I need to be out of here because the longer I stay here the more I might lose my cool and it wouldn't be fair to Elodie and the people of Sicario.

"It's obvious you all worked hard to make it a better place and I know it might not be easy with me and my crew here," Drew admitted even though it was disappointing to an extent he might not have wanted to come here, but he wanted to stay truly, for the sake of Rio.

He had seen how Rio looked at Theo when the sailor thought no one was watching and Drew knew that his sailor wanted to see what a bond with the werewolf general would be like.

The Sailor had wanted to accept the mate bond so desperately but they were still on opposite sides despite everything that had happened.

"You don't even have a ship yet. Where will you go, even if the borders could open? Which side of the realm would you be in when everywhere is highly protected and doesn't let anyone in?

"Will you get to the waters again? But on what?" Hudhayfah asked and the sailors let out softly growls.

They already knew that they were disadvantaged, but they would survive like they always did. They always found a way to make things better and regardless of the chaos at the moment, they would find a way.

"We have to leave before Mbali dies and you pin that blame on us truly. Nolen of us is interested in the politics of power and we are inn–"

"No one is leaving, Andrew," Rukiya stated.
