The Reincarnated Mixture Magic Types Dragon Prince

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: A Legacy Rekindled

The wind howled across the mountaintop, but Karen Dragon stood firm. Clad in silver-black armor adorned with ancient symbols, he overlooked the valley below—a valley hidden from the world, untouched by time.

A valley that would become sacred once more.

He had returned from the Temple of Night's Edge with more than knowledge.

He had returned with a mission.

---

The Hidden Valley of Vael'Thar

The hidden valley had once belonged to the Black Shadow Dragonborn—Vael'Thar, the "Veiled Sanctuary." For millennia, it had remained sealed in darkness, protected by a cloak of enchanted mist. Only now, with the awakening of Karen's bloodline and the unlocking of the ancient seal, had it become visible again.

Karen had chosen it as the birthplace of a rebirth.

Using the ancient Shadow Magic taught to him by Vael'Nir, the shadow memory, Karen weaved the barrier back into place—only those carrying a piece of his magic could enter.

Now, the rebuilding would begin.

---

The First of the Reclaimed

It had taken him fifty years to travel the realms in secret. Fifty years of searching, watching, sensing. Not for warriors or scholars… but for those whose souls sang in the same language of silence and lightless truth.

He found them.

The First Five.

Naela, an orphaned Spiritborn with the rare ability to walk unnoticed between crowds.

Toren, a half-elf with no magic, but unmatched instinct and reflex.

Brika, a beastfolk girl who could speak to shadows and see through illusions.

Kaien, a mute human boy whose drawings shaped reality.

And Lirae, a fallen priestess who had once wielded Light Magic—until her soul chose the twilight.

Karen gathered them one by one, bringing them to Vael'Thar.

There, he trained them in secret.

---

Shadows and Balance

Karen stood before the First Five in the shadow-lit training chamber deep beneath the valley. They knelt before him, clad in simple robes, watching his every move.

"Shadow is not evil," he began, voice calm and echoing.

"It is forgotten. Feared. Misunderstood. But shadow exists to shape light, to hide what must remain unseen, to balance the world."

He summoned a ribbon of darkness in one hand, and a spear of light in the other.

"The world does not need more gods… It needs guardians. Silent ones. Unseen protectors."

He raised the ancient blade Umbrasil, its obsidian edge glowing softly.

"And that is what you will become."

---

The Trial of Reflection

To awaken their Shadow potential, each initiate had to complete the Trial of Reflection—an ancient test that forced them to face the part of themselves they feared most.

Naela entered the shrine first and emerged weeping but stronger, her steps silent as a ghost's.

Toren saw himself failing over and over again—but learned patience and control.

Brika faced her monstrous form and tamed it.

Kaien, with no words to speak, drew his past on the walls… and erased it with a single tear.

Lirae faced the broken faith in her heart—and rebuilt it from the pieces.

Each of them passed.

And with their awakening, the valley shimmered brighter with shadowlight.

---

A Visit from the King

One morning, as mist still blanketed the valley, a golden rift shimmered open at its edge.

Karen immediately recognized the signature of the one arriving.

Kai Dragon.

The Demigod King stepped through the rift with calm eyes and folded wings. Clad in regal black and gold robes, he looked older—but only in presence, not in body.

"Karen," he said, smiling faintly, "I sensed you opened something."

Karen bowed respectfully. "I did, Father. I found the truth of my people."

Kai looked around at the glowing sigils and silent statues. "This is… Vael'Thar?"

Karen nodded. "The sanctuary of the Black Shadow Dragonborn. And now the heart of something new."

Kai's expression turned serious.

"And what will you do with it?"

Karen met his gaze without hesitation.

"Rebuild. Train. Prepare. The world may think peace lasts forever—but you and I both know that even silence hides growing storms."

Kai nodded slowly. "Then you have my blessing."

---

The Oath of the Shadows

Under the silver moon that night, Karen gathered the First Five around a ceremonial flame made of darklight.

He held out his hand, and each of them placed theirs upon it in turn.

"You are no longer forgotten," Karen said. "You are no longer hunted, orphaned, or broken."

"You are now Shadowbound. Protectors of the balance. Blades that strike only when needed. Guardians of truth."

He drew a symbol in the air—an intertwined spiral of shadow and light—and marked it on each of their hands.

"This is your legacy now."

"And together," Karen whispered, "we rise in silence."
