The Regressor’s Younger Brother’s Insanity

Chapter 9: Clash with the Branch’s Strongest

Clang....Clang!

Aether crossed blades with the two elite warrior-class knights. This time, they were slightly pushed back.

They were using drugs, temporary boosters to enhance their internal energy. But even so, their martial realm was far beneath his.

In this world, knights follow a strict path of cultivation. One must reach Enlightenment and gain the qualifications to break through the barriers called Walls, that separate each realm.

The progression is as follows:

Sword Expert (Low)

Sword Expert (Mid)

Sword Expert (peak)

Sword Master (Low)

Sword Master (Mid)

Sword Master (peak)

Transcendent (Low)

Transcendent (Mid)

Transcendent (peak)

Unrestrained (low)

Unrestrained (mid)

Unrestrained (peak)

Beyond that:

Sword God

Life and Death Realm

Ascension to celestial being

After ascending to a Celestial being, there's a whole new Divine Realm.

In his past life, Aether reached the Life and Death Realm.

Now, he has gone back in time.

He's fifteen again.

At this point in his life, he had just reached the mid-stage of the Sword master realm.

He's not as strong as before. But he knows how to utilise his ability to the fullest.

Clang Clang...Clang

They exchanged blows six times before stepping back.

Their real strength was at the peak of Sword Expert, but after taking the drug, they felt as strong as a Low-stage Sword Master.

Only one level below Aether.

Then Aether used his family's secret technique

'Noctvain sword art: first form'

Like a roaring black imugi, his sword shot upward. Then came crashing down with great force.

Boom!

The impact shook the floor and threw both enemies off balance.

The sword that had been stuck in the ground suddenly flew back into Aether's hand.

An invisible thread was seen. It was called a Mana Thread.

It's a special technique that uses thin threads made from mana.

With enough control and strong mana, the user can pull weapons, trap enemies, or even swing the thread like a whip to cut through things.

Slice...slash..

Using the thread, he swung his blade like a whip. Wherever the sword thread moved, the floor bent and twisted. As an Imugi, crawling across it.

The two warriors tried to block and defend.

But slowly, cut marks started to appear all over their bodies.

Their movements slowed and fear filled their eyes.

Just as Aether was about to cut off their heads, his senses alert.

he turned to his right But before he could react,

Bam!

A powerful punch hit him hard and sent him crashing into the wall.

Boom

The attack came from a man who looked to be in his thirties. Standing behind him was the branch leader.

This was the man the branch leader went to call for help.

Cough! Cough!

Aether dropped to his knees, blood dripping from his mouth as he coughed.

'This guy is strong...Maybe at the peak stage of Sword master realm.' Aether judged his martial realm.

"Bogura, be careful he can use weird trickiery" The branch leader warned.

At his words, the man named Bogura stepped forward and unleashed a deadly fist technique.

Boom!

Aether jumped to the side, barely dodging it. He rolled on the ground and quickly got back on his feet.

But the moment he looked up, a fist was already in front of his face.

Bam!

The punch landed clean. His head snapped back. A few of Aether's teeth broke in that strike.

Aether quickly raised his sword to defend, but

Crack!

Bogura's next strike shattered it in a single blow.

Aether's eyes widened in disbelief.

Then Bogura's fist glowed with aura.

'Mountain king fist technique: Fifth form'

Bam!!

Aether was sent flying, crashing through the wall and slamming into another corridor.

Aether and Bogura were only one stage apart, but that one stage gap was massive.

Because the higher the realm, the wider the difference becomes.

Then, for the first time, Bogura spoke.

"You came here with that level of power?" His voice was filled with disappointment.

Cough! Cough!

As Aether was coughing, Bogura grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground.

He noticed the human-faced mask Aether was wearing. Bogura reached out and torn it off.

As the mask came off, Aether's real face was revealed.

!!!

Everyone's eyes widened in shock.

They thought the mask was his real face.

After all, someone who could kill without blinking had to be an adult.

But when the mask was torn off, they saw a face so beautiful, it was hard to believe.

His skin was fair and smooth, his features delicate, many would easily mistake him for a girl.

He looked more like one of the continent's most beautiful women than a warrior.

And yet he had fought with such cruelty.

Even Bogura was surprised.

He had trained for 30 years just to reach the peak stage of Sword Master.

But this boy, barely 15 years old, was already at mid-stage Sword Master realm.

"Who are you?" Bogura asked curiously.

"..." Aether stayed silent.

Bogura looked at his face and said,

"With a face like that, you must be a noble's son. Which family do you belong to?"

But Aether still didn't answer.

Annoyed, Bogura tightened his grip around Aether's neck, choking him.

Just then, out of nowhere, a glass bottle filled with poison appeared in Aether's hand.

Seeing this, Bogura tried to snatch it away,

but Aether let it drop.

Crash!

The bottle shattered on the ground, and the poison quickly spread.

Sensing danger, Bogura jumped back.

"This bastard's insane! Trying to kill himself and take everyone with him!"

Bogura shouted, filled with anger.

Then, through the smoke, he saw something strange,

someone pulling out daggers from thin air.

It was Aether.

He was using his system inventory.

Bogura was shocked.

He should've been dead.

Bogura swung his sword to cut his head but Aether was suddenly behind. It was so fast that Bogura cut his afterimage.

From behind Aether slashed at his feet from.

Slice!

Bogura fell to his knees.

Then he looked up…

Aether's wounds were gone. Fully healed. Not even a single cut left.

'How can he heal so fast? Not even the empire's strongest can do this…'

Bogura thought, fear rising in his heart.

"You… you're a monster…" he said.

Aether replied calmly,

"Typical mindset. When you can't break a wall, you call it a monster, just to feel better about yourself."

Hearing that, Bogura frowned, his expression darkening.

* * *

In a high mountain range, many people had gathered.

In front of them stood a man in his forties. He looked up at the tallest peak and spoke.

"So, his mana was sensed from here?"

"Yes, Left Guardian. The mana is still visible. There's no doubt...it belongs to young master Aether."

A knight beside him clarified.
