The Regressor’s Younger Brother’s Insanity

Chapter 12: Reunion

"Left Guardian, what happened?"

At his question, the Left Guardian raised an eyebrow. "Young master… were you not aware of what you were doing?"

"Ah…"

As the Left Guardian said that, Aether quickly realized what had happened. He had been thinking about his enemies, and without realizing it, he had unleashed his killing intent.

"ahem.... I guess after being tortured by them, I unknowingly let out some killing intent."

He used the cultist torture as an excuse, hiding the real reason behind his rage.

"Yes yes. Of course you'd be furious at them.

The Left Guardian brushed it off, though he still found it bizarre.

'How can he exude such overwhelming killing intent? So deadly… even I felt fear.'

"Anyway, let's wake everyone up."

The Left Guardian jumped down from the carriage and began checking on the others.

After some time, everyone regained consciousness and the journey resumed.

* * *

They used the teleport waypoint and arrived at the Noctvain family teleport waypoint.

As they stepped out of the portal, the entire city came into view.

A vast city with no end in sight, home to over 100,000 people. At its center stood one of the Empire's Seven Great Families, the Noctvain family.

Law and order were upheld by the Noctvains.

Aether and the warriors, including the Left Guardian, entered through the rear gate to avoid drawing too much attention.

Even so, people lined the streets, watching with curiosity as two carriages passed through the center.

The news about Aether's kidnapping was kept secret, known only to the household. So, the people of the city didn't knew.

After some time, they reached the Noctvain estate. It was a large area with many mansions, training grounds, gardens and more.

As they reached the main gate, the servants quickly opened it. A marble path led to several mansions inside.

The carriages entered and stopped in front of the main mansion. Aether stepped out.

As soon as he did, he saw a crowd gathered near the entrance. Then he heard familiar voices.

"Brother!"

"Brother!"

It was his siblings, his little brothers and sister.

Four of them ran toward him, all with black hair and green eyes just like Aether. Those green eyes were a trait of their bloodline.

Aether stood still, feeling overwhelmed. Just two days ago, he had watched all of them die right in front of him.

The four of them embraced Aether tightly and burst into tears.

"Brother, I'm sorry for being so weak.."

"Me too brother..."

"Me too brother"

His little brothers were triplets. Because of their perfect sync, everyone called them High-bro, Middle-bro, and Low-bro.

Their names were Noctis, Nero, and Nyros Von Noctvain.

"Brother… waaaaaaaaaaa!"

His little sister also burst into tears.

She was the youngest of all the siblings, Lyra von Noctvain. She is eight years old.

He slowly knelt down and hugged her tightly.

"I'm here now," he whispered.

But Lyra's crying only grew louder. She punched him repeatedly, tears streaming down her face.

"You dummy...sob..sob...Lyra cried for you so much, but you didn't come, you dummy. You're a bad brother..bad brother..bad brother.." Her voice trembled, choked by tears

"Sorry Lyra, forgive this brother of yours. i promise, I'll always be by your side ." As Aether said those words, the memories of his past life came flooding back. He couldn't hold back his tears any longer.

'Even back then, I failed to protect them and they all died trying to save me....'

The triplets, watching their big brother cry, burst into tears as well and hugged him tightly from behind.

Even the maids and servants watching the scene from afar wiped their eyes, unable to hold back their tears of joy.

After their heartfelt reunion, the siblings finally began to calm down. But they stayed close to Aether, clinging to him like glue.

Just then, a cheerful voice rang out.

"For the past twenty days, they haven't eaten properly. They've remained silent and stayed up late every night practicing swordsmanship. They truly care about you.. So, don't run off again and make these little cuties cry!"

The man's tone was light, but his words carried genuine warmth.

He was Theron von Noctvain, the younger brother of Aether's father, and the current vice-patriarch of the Noctvain family. A kind-hearted man who deeply cared about his family.

"I greet the vice Patriarch. Sorry for the late gretting as i was emotional"

"Hoho, no need to apologize. I'm truly happy to see you siblings together again," the Vice Patriarch said with teary eyes.

Aether lowered his eyes and thought,

Why do they love me so much? I don't even deserve it...

Just then, Aether sensed someone rapidly approaching.

His instincts kicked in. He turned toward the source and saw a woman moving so fast, it looked like she had teleported.

Swooosh

She stopped right in front of him and pulled him into a tight hug.

"My child…"

It was none other than his mother, Seraphina von Noctvain.

Her lips were dry, her hair messy, and there were dark circles under her eyes. It was clear she had been completely devastated since the day he was taken.

"My child, my child...how are you? Are you hurt anywhere? I'm sorry... I'm sorry"

She was so emotional, she could barely speak.

Aether could tell she had been bedridden, worn down by constant worry over his kidnapping.

He gently reached out and wiped away her tears.

"I'm fine, Mother. All thanks to your prayers. I told you, your son will be alright, as long as you are there for me."

She broke down even more, crying louder as she clung to him.

She was the first to know about the kidnapping. She carried a pendant imbued with Aether's mana. When the cultists sealed his mana with mana Suppression, the pendant's power was abruptly cut off. Instantly, she knew something had happened to her son.

Without wasting a second, she formed multiple search parties and desperately searched for Aether.

"Come here, my darlings," she said, reaching out to Aether's four siblings.

They rushed over, and their mother pulled all five of her children into a tight embrace.

"Mommy, please don't cry," said Lyra, Aether's little sister, trying to comfort her. "I scolded brother, and he promised he'll never leave us again."

After crying for some time, she wiped her tears and gave a warm, gentle smile.

"Welcome home, Aether."

In his past life, Aether had lost his mother early. It had been so long since he last saw her face.

His voice shook with emotion as he spoke.

"I'm beyond happy… to see my family again... I'm truly home now."
