Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Every touch from you disgusts me
Qin Zhao arched her eyebrows, "Are we dating?"
"I know you can't accept it right now, but you have to face reality eventually. I'm not interested in you anymore, so let's part on good terms."
She took out the marriage certificate from her bag, "Sorry, I'm married. Who do you think you are?"
"???"
Xie Han was instantly dumbstruck.
What the hell, Qin Zhao got married?!
The corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily, "When did you get married?"
"Six months ago."
"You're married and still coming on to me?"
"Just playing around with you, why so serious?"
Qin Zhao faintly heard Xie Han curse under his breath, angrily turning away and walking off.
The Movie Emperor, notorious for his playboy antics in the industry, never expected to be played by someone else.
Qin Zhao looked down at the marriage certificate in her hand, her expression becoming somewhat strange.
The man on the marriage certificate was handsome and aloof, not one to waste words with a smile.
It was that scumbag Chu Yan!
She didn't know if this Chu Yan was related to her "Evil Disciple," but she felt disgusted every time she saw his face.
So, a divorce was a must!
"What reason should I find for divorce?"
Qin Zhao sat in the resting area, deep in thought.
If Chu Yan found out he was cuckolded, hence her wish for divorce, it would surely be the end of it.
She needed a decent reason, a peaceful divorce would be better.
Qin Zhao was so engrossed in her thoughts that she failed to notice at the far corner, a tall silhouette was staring intently at her.
The cool "Phoenix Eyes" scanned over the sign near the resting area, which read 'Obstetrics and Gynecology.'
A trace of icy coldness flickered through his eyes.
"Married and still flirting with men in the entertainment circle, such bad luck!"
Xie Han passed the corner, his face still gloomy, unable to resist muttering to himself.
Suddenly, the back of his collar tightened.
Someone had grabbed the back of his collar and aggressively dragged him into the adjacent stairwell.
Bang—a loud noise.
The person kicked the door shut.
His vision plunged into darkness, and a cold hand gripped his throat tightly.
A deathly chill enveloped Xie Han, causing him to widen his eyes in difficulty to breathe, his body trembling slightly with fear.
"What do you want to do?"
The man in the darkness was indiscernible.
Obviously taller than him, he gripped Xie Han's neck firmly, pinning him against the wall.
His voice was as chilling and low as a demon's whisper.
"Did you sleep with Qin Zhao?"
"No."
Xie Han answered in fear.
Hearing this response, the man's aura seemed slightly less terrifying.
Xie Han gasped for air, quickly adding, "I just held hands with her, we didn't even kiss! Every time I got close to her, I felt uncomfortable!"
The man released his grip, giving him a detached glance, "Get lost."
Xie Han opened the door and scrambled out, running for his life.
A few minutes later, a doctor with an icy demeanor in a white coat emerged from the stairwell.
Chu Yan casually removed the rubber gloves from his hands and slipped them into the pocket of his white coat.
"Chu Yan, I have something to discuss with you."
Qin Wan, having come up with a reason for divorce, approached him upon seeing him.
He looked down at her from above, his gaze cold and detached.
This look was different from the one the "Evil Disciple" gave her.
After all, the "Evil Disciple" had to pretend to like her, so he wouldn't use such an indifferent gaze.
"What's the matter?"
"I want to... with you..." Divorce.
Before she could finish, Chu Yan's gaze turned colder.
The remaining two words inexplicably got stuck in her throat.
Qin Zhao felt a chill run down her spine, and her scalp turned cold.
"Dr. Chu, it's not good! The patient in Room 217 suddenly experienced massive bleeding, cardiac arrest, we need to perform emergency surgery immediately!"
A nurse rushed over, shouting as she ran.
Both Chu Yan and Qin Zhao's expressions changed.
The patient in Room 217 was named Qin Wan, she was Qin Zhao's own aunt.
"Prepare for surgery immediately."
A cool voice came from behind, Chu Yan passed by Qin Zhao and went to the operating room with the nurse.
Qin Zhao followed them and just saw Qin Wan with a respirator, being pushed by the nurses into the operating room, everyone's face was grave.
Her slender, pale fingertips unconsciously clenched the corner of her garment.
The operating room door was firmly closed in front of her, and Qin Zhao's heart slowly clenched.
Perhaps it was because she had taken over the body of the original owner that she felt such empathy for her relatives in danger.
Moreover, this Aunt Qin Wan had a special significance to her.
Aside from the original owner, she had a younger sister in her family.
The sister was born in the same year as her, only by a few months.
Growing up, the parents' favoritism was all given to her sister, and she was like an invisible person at home.
With her parents indifferent, all the affection of her childhood came from her aunt.
The original owner made a mess of things in the entertainment industry, creating various scandals, because her aunt had a terminal illness, hid it from her, and refused to see her anymore, making her feel abandoned by the whole world.
That's why the original owner did all sorts of outlandish things to get media exposure, trying to draw attention from her family.
A few days ago, when she went to the hospital to find Chu Yan, she bumped into her hospitalized aunt and found out the truth.
Seven hours later, the operating room door finally opened.
"How is my aunt doing?"
Qin Zhao had been waiting outside and now approached anxiously to ask.
She unconsciously reached out and grabbed Chu Yan's sleeve.
Chu Yan was wearing a mask and cap, his eyes were the only part visible, a pair of clear, cool and indifferent Phoenix Eyes.
He glanced down at her hand before slowly saying, "She is out of danger for now, but the cancer cells have spread, and the situation is not optimistic."
Hearing his voice, Qin Zhao finally came to her senses.
Noticing her own action, she quickly withdrew her hand, speaking distantly, "Sorry, I was too agitated just now. What do you mean it's not optimistic?"
"Once the cancer cells spread to the brain, we are powerless. Chemotherapy can extend her life, but only for three to six months."
"So you mean my aunt can only live for three to six months?"
"Mhm."
Noise came from the operating room, and the nurses wheeled an unconscious Qin Wan out.
Qin Zhao stood in place with a complex expression, feeling a suffocating oppression in her heart.
It was like watching her family die at the hands of an Evil Cultivator years ago.
How could she not hate Chu Yan?
If given another chance, she would still join forces with others to kill him!
Evil Cultivators who disregard human life deserve to die!
Chu Yan took off his mask, revealing a face so handsome it seemed to have been carved by the gods. He wore the sacred white coat, but to Qin Zhao, it seemed ironic.
An Evil Cultivator with blood on his hands and no compassion for human life was now a doctor saving lives.
Did he deserve it?
At the entrance of the operating room was a bottle of alcohol gel; Qin Zhao turned around, squeezed a large amount of the gel, and carefully cleaned her hands.
Every touch from him made her feel disgusted.
Chu Yan remembered before the surgery, she had said she needed to speak to him, and he walked towards Qin Zhao.
Just as he was about to ask, Qin Zhao hurried away swiftly, heading to Qin Wan's ward, as if he were some kind of virus.
Dr. Chu, a person of scholarly and indifferent demeanor, stared at her departing figure and furrowed his brows deeply.
"Dr. Chu, there's another surgery next."
An assistant came over to remind him, and Chu Yan withdrew his gaze and went back into the operating room.
