The Rebirth of Harry Potter

Chapter 30: Chapter 29: Harry on Top

Malfoy controlled his broomstick carefully as he flew into the sky, immediately drawing the attention of all the students. When he noticed the envious gazes of dozens of students, a deep sense of satisfaction swelled within him. Yes, this feeling was truly amazing! Now he understood why Harry always loved showing off—so this was why!

(Harry innocently: "Do I?" Malfoy: "You dare say you don't?!" )

Just as Malfoy had anticipated, he was soaring above everyone, looking down on Harry. However, what he hadn't expected was that Harry's face showed not the slightest discomfort. This made Malfoy furious—he had wanted to see Harry embarrass himself because he couldn't fly! Why was he still so relaxed even though he didn't dare to mount a broomstick? Was his skin thicker than the walls of a Chinese fortress?! (Luo Bei: "Friendly reminder—fortress walls vary in thickness, usually between 10 to 20 meters.")

Harry was about to mount his broomstick and try the sensation of flying, but when he saw Malfoy's grim expression, he was confused. I didn't even kick you in the little Malfoys, so why are you looking at me like that? Harry figured Malfoy must be sick again—otherwise, what was with that I'm out to get you look on his face?

Malfoy suppressed his anger. No problem. He would make sure everyone saw Harry's true colors. No matter how well he covered up, it wouldn't matter then.

He tugged at the corners of his mouth, making his expression as arrogant and self-important as possible. After coughing twice, he plastered on a fake smile and was about to speak loudly:

"Well, what's the matter, are you—"

But before he could finish his sentence, all the students suddenly gasped and looked up at the sky in shock.

Malfoy raised his head—only to see a chubby boy plummeting from above!

When Malfoy had flown into the air, many students had been tempted to try it too. The first to act was Neville. He pushed off the ground, and the broomstick carried him straight into the sky. But it was obvious he wasn't as calm and collected as he had imagined...

Once he was airborne and had no footing beneath him, Neville was instantly filled with fear. The wind howled past his ears, the world below seemed distant, and he could see nothing but endless sky on both sides. Neville made the exact mistake Madam Hooch had warned them about—he clung to his broomstick for dear life. And so, the broom kept flying higher and higher.

Everyone below watched in alarm as Neville clung to his broomstick in terror, rising further and further into the sky.

Unintentionally, Neville glanced downward—everyone on the ground had turned into tiny black dots. He could overlook Hogwarts, the grasslands, and the Forbidden Forest. The ground seemed impossibly far away. Neville's face turned pale as he opened his mouth—then he let go.

Sliding straight off his broomstick, he plummeted toward the earth!

With his back facing the ground, his little hands flailed weakly, desperately trying to grab onto something. His fall was both tragic and pitiful...

Some of the more timid students had already closed their eyes, unable to bear watching what came next.

Malfoy looked up in shock. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a flicker of movement—something black streaked past him with a fierce gust of wind.

He glanced down—Harry was gone!

Could it be—?!

The moment Harry saw Neville falling, his gaze flickered to Madam Hooch, who was running toward the nearest student. But will she make it in time?

There was no time to think.

"Shit!" Harry cursed, dropping his broomstick onto the ground. He swung his right leg over and kicked off with all his might—like an arrow shot from a bow, he rocketed into the sky!

The wind roared past, making his black robes flap wildly. The gentle breeze from earlier now felt like razor-sharp blades slicing against his face, forcing Harry to squint. His expression was cold and determined, eyes locked onto Neville as he plunged.

Harry was going as fast as he could—so fast that most students only saw a dark blur streaking through the sky. They didn't even catch who it was.

He was about to reach Neville. Their two figures seemed like they would crash into each other at an insane speed.

But Harry had already considered this—he couldn't just grab Neville directly, or they would both end up with broken bones.

Just as he was about to collide with Neville, Harry twisted in the air like a black lightning bolt, shifting his trajectory from a straight dive into a smooth arc. His movement was fluid—seamless!

Swinging around to Neville's upper right, Harry yanked his broom handle sharply to turn, accelerating again toward Neville. Now, both of them were falling toward the ground!

Neville was below.

Harry was on top!! (Luo Bei: "Keep your minds pure, people...")

Faster! Faster!

Harry's broomstick was now in a full vertical dive. The distance between him and Neville was closing—but so was the distance between Neville and the ground.

Would he make it in time?!

The students unconsciously held their breath, as if even the sound of breathing might interfere with Harry's rescue. Their eyes remained unblinking, fixated on this dangerous yet exhilarating moment!

Harry turned his face just in time to narrowly avoid Neville's tears. Damn it, can you not be so disgusting? I'm saving you here! Luckily, Neville hadn't had a runny nose recently, or else… Ugh!

Ten meters, nine meters, seven meters, five meters… two meters…

Harry finally reached Neville. He stretched out his hand—got him! With a swift motion, he scooped Neville up while his broomstick passed underneath, hooking Neville onto it. Gripping the top of the broom tightly, Harry yanked it upwards with all his strength. Hold on!

The broom successfully changed direction, but due to inertia, it still rushed toward the ground. The tail end didn't have time to pull up and skidded violently along the ground, with nearly half of the twigs being scraped off!

But—they were safe!!

Harry, with Neville hanging off his broom like a limp noodle, leisurely circled once in the air. His posture was nothing like that of a beginner. Slowing down, he gradually descended to the ground.

What Harry didn't know was that somewhere inside the castle, someone was standing by a desk, watching him through a glass window with excitement.

In fact, the moment the chubby Neville fell from his broomstick, she had already grabbed her wand and stood up. Then, she noticed a figure speeding toward Neville, and that made her want to keep watching—because for the past few days, she had been tormented by a single question!

And now, this figure ignited a thought in her mind.

If this person is a Gryffindor student, then it's truly Merlin's blessing!

But the result shocked her. Initially, she would have been satisfied with just a decent performance, but the reality had far exceeded her expectations!

As Merlin once famously said:

"I only wished for a single tree, but I was given an entire forest!"

This person wasn't just outstanding—he was abnormal!

Instantly mastering the fastest speed, maintaining absolute composure, demonstrating wisdom, making seamless turns, executing smooth maneuvers, reacting with lightning reflexes, and possessing undeniable courage.

Professor McGonagall was certain—at this age, when it came to flying a broomstick, Harry was the most talented person she had ever seen. No one could compare!
