The Real Mrs White

Just like that,before the ending of my two years stays in London which was October, i was having close to one thousand dollars,in my account,Imagine,the joy and no,I never spent a dime,who could believe that I left Nigeria ,and now I was having this huge amount with me,"Well,kayla good job." I congratulated myself.

Since Avia was out of town because of her studies,I was treated like the new daughter of the house,theo and I became close,to the point where I was allowed to drive Avias car and use her belongings,one that she permitted of course; since wearing clothes or shoes,that she left behind,I took it all,and now I was having enough of property.

"I mean,It's crazy,when I first came here two years ago,I had few bags fill with torn clothes,undies and torn shoes,but now I was having two closets filled with brand-new clothes,shoes,and everything I could ever want. I can't wait to share it with Aiden and filora .The last time I spoke with them,which was months ago; they wanted new shoes." I smiled stupidly

"Who are you talking to, kayla?" The tiny but manly voice asked.

I turned to see theo ,oh! I totally forgot that he was still here,"Ah,No one. I like to speak to myself sometimes,so It's no big deal."

"Oh,okay." he continued playing with his phone,then paused,"but please,don t do that outside,it will make people think you are a crazy person." he smiled

"Hmmmmm,okay,sure."

The following day was a weekend and also the end of the month,which to me meant two things,to receive my pay and to take Theodore out for fun.

Before the ending of the month,I got my alert,ah which was like a piece of melodious music to my ears,I still got my extra though,she made it like a regular thing but it to be expected.

The harvest of the vegetable was promising,it was beautiful to the eye,tasted great as well,to the point where neighbouring restaurants made her their suppliers of vegetables and species.

She was making a lot not just from the restaurant but also from the farm; I guess she wanted to share it with me, too.

But the joy in my heart right now was not just because I was making and saving a lot of money,it was because I might be able to go back home before the end of this year.

Then again,I don t know why, but whenever little happiness and peace find it into my heart,sadness always accomplices it.

I started to feel weird like something was going wrong but because I didn't know what it was and the fact that this was the first time,I was having such a strange feeling,I didn't bother to check or observe anything.

I continue ignoring it, but as the day goes by,it only worsens. But I didn't mind and continue working hard,with the restaurants and the farm,harvest,after a while the strange feeling stopped,and I just convinced myself that it was nothing and went on living my life,with my goals in sight.

Winter came,followed by summer,it was another Christmas celebration,few,or a month from now it was going to be Christmas and because I had planned to celebrate it with my family in my country,I worked ahead of time,so as not to make Mrs. Berry angry.

Avia returned home,for her month break and we both,went out having fun and shopping,of course,nothing came out of my pocket but hers,since shopping and having fun,or living a better life by myself was not the main reason I was working myself to the born,I didn't venture into my savings or let myself long for anything that needed to be bought with money; I just left a boring life,even at that I was comfortable and never complained.

Just because I wasn't,didn't mean others weren't, Avia decide to take a rest at a café,so I followed behind her; while she ordered sweet Americano,I went for just plain coffee.

We sat down in silence, waiting for our order, and when it finally came,Avia looked from her foaming sweet Americano to me. "Seriously,isn't this a little much?" she took a sip of it

I raised my head to her,"Really,then you should tell the waiter to change it for you if it is too sweet." I told her, then turned to the waiter to signal for it

"Oh! kayla,that's not what I meant," she signed

"Okay! Then what do you mean?" Avia looked at her confusedly,

Signing again "kayla for the past two years going to three years,that you have been here,how many times have you gone out shopping or having fun or even done something tangible for yourself?"

"What do you mean 'shopping or funisnt that what we are doing?"

"Yes,It sure is. But I am asking how many times YOU have taken yourself out or even just enjoyed it once without working on the farm or restaurants or even sitting at home. Just when last did you go to the saloon or even party? Well,that s if you have been to one."

Seriously ,okay, just .....ahhhhh, that s not really important,I am fine just being like this,so you don t have to worry." kayla smiled at her, but she wasn't happy with the question,as she pondered why Avia was questioning about her activities?

"Really? Are you kidding me right now? kayla, for pits sake,when you first came here, you were complaining about your hygiene,so how the hell is a saloon not important?" she said, screaming
