Morning light cast dappled shadows on the stone floor of the hallway. Roy, with Law in tow, paused at the door, a faint smile on his lips.

"Hmm?" Law looked up, confused, just as Roy pushed the door open—

"AMBUSH!!"

The moment the door opened, two black blurs shot out from behind it! Ace, his hands coated in a thin layer of Armament Haki, wore a battle-ready grin. Luffy launched a flying kick, shouting, "GUM-GUM ROCKET KICK!", as they both lunged at Roy from either side.

Law's pupils constricted, and he instinctively took a step back, but—

Thump! Thump!

Two crisp sounds echoed in the air. The next second, large bumps appeared on both Ace's and Luffy's heads. They squatted on the ground, clutching their heads and wincing in pain.

"An ambush?" Roy retracted his fist, a teasing smile on his face. "With this level of skill, you dare to ambush me?"

"Damn it! He found us again!" Ace pouted, rubbing his head. "I'll get you next time!"

"Ow! Roy's punches hurt even more than Gramps'!" Luffy wailed, his lip trembling.

Just then, the kitchen door opened, and the aroma of stew wafted out. Belle-mère, holding a steaming pot, smiled warmly. "Oh, Roy, you're back?"

"Big Brother Roy!" Nami and Nojiko peeked out from behind her, their eyes sparkling as they shouted in unison, their faces full of anticipation.

Roy smiled and nodded at them. "I'm back."

Ace pouted, a hint of complaint in his voice. "Why were you gone for so many days without a word? I thought you'd been sent on another dangerous mission!"

Luffy, clutching the bumps on his head, nodded vigorously. "Yeah! Yeah!"

Roy laughed helplessly and ruffled Ace's hair. "Alright, since you two have so much free time, I'll have Instructor Zephyr give you extra training this afternoon until you're satisfied."

"Bring it on! I'm not afraid!" Ace said stubbornly, though his eyes darted away.

Luffy nodded eagerly. "Yay! Yay!"

It was then that Ace finally noticed the white-haired boy standing behind Roy, watching them quietly. He frowned. "Hey, who's the new kid?!"

Law's expression was calm; he just glanced at him without a word.

Roy chuckled and placed a hand on Law's head. "He's not a kid. He's four years older than you."

Ace was stunned. "Four years older? Seriously?"

Roy smiled and added calmly, "Let me introduce you. This is Fleet Admiral Sengoku's grandson, Trafalgar Law. He'll be living and training with us from now on."

"NANI?!!!" Ace and Luffy's eyes both went wide, their jaws nearly hitting the floor.

"Fl-Fleet Admiral Sengoku's grandson?!" Ace stammered, pointing at Law. "You mean the grandson of that old goat-beard geezer?!"

Law's lip twitched as he replied coldly, "...Are you being polite?"

Luffy, on the other hand, bounded over excitedly, his eyes shining. "Wow! Does that mean you're super strong too?!"

Law raised an eyebrow and replied coolly, "Stronger than you."

"Hey! You bastard!!" Ace instantly flared up and was about to pounce, but Roy held him back by the head. "Alright, alright, that's enough!"

Just then, Belle-mère shook her head with a smile. "Let's eat first. If you keep arguing, the food will get cold."

"Yeah, time to eat!" Nami and Nojiko quickly helped set the table, their faces cheerful.

Roy looked at the lively group of kids, a warm smile in his eyes, and ruffled Ace's hair again. "That's enough. From now on, Law is our new family."

Ace pouted, and though he looked reluctant, he finally muttered, "...Hmph, I'll become stronger than him anyway."

Law glanced at Ace, a slight curve to his lips—a confident smile for the future. "Family, huh...?" He repeated the word silently, his gaze softening.

Suddenly, Roy looked up at the sky, a gentle emotion in his eyes. "Speaking of which, it's been a while since I went to see Mom and Dad... I should take this bunch of kids for a visit sometime."

On the dining table, the feast prepared by Belle-mère nearly covered the entire surface. A whole roasted suckling pig, golden and crispy, emanated a rich, meaty aroma. A mountain of braised beef glistened with fat, sizzling pan-fried fish fillets were arranged neatly, and meatballs drenched in sauce shone temptingly. The scents of various side dishes and bread mingled together, making one's mouth water.

Law stood by the table, his eyes slightly wide, clearly unprepared for the "battlefield" before him. "...Do seven people really need to eat this much?" he subconsciously asked Roy, a hint of hesitation in his eyes.

Roy seemed to read his mind and smiled, ruffling his hair. "Don't worry, eat as much as you want. There aren't many rules here. No one will laugh at you."

Nojiko and Nami were busily setting the table. Nami even gave Law a mischievous wink. "Don't be too shocked in a minute~"

Law: "...?"

The answer came a moment later. "ITADAKIMASU!!!"

At Roy's command, Ace and Luffy lunged at the table like tigers. "This meat is mine!" Ace's hands shot out, stuffing a whole chicken leg into his mouth in an instant while his other hand shoveled meat from a platter onto his plate.

"MEAT, MEAT, MEAT!!!" Luffy simply pulled the entire platter of roasted pork in front of him and took a huge bite, his cheeks puffing out like a hamster's, his face covered in grease.

"You two, don't clear the table in one go!" Although Roy's movements were more elegant, the food on the platters was disappearing at a visible rate as his knife and fork flew.

Law: "..."

The cool-headed boy's expression completely crumbled, his jaw nearly hitting the table. Is... is this even humanly possible?

Belle-mère couldn't help but chuckle. She patted Law's shoulder. "Shocking, right? I was the same way the first time I saw it." She placed a large piece of roast beef on his plate, her smile gentle. "Eat up while it's hot. Any later and it'll all be in those two's stomachs."

Law stared at the steaming beef on his plate, then back at the rapidly emptying platters on the table. He finally picked up his fork with a stiff movement and took a careful bite. "...Delicious." In that moment, his eyes lit up, as if a layer of ice had quietly melted.

Nami sidled up with a grin, her eyes crinkling. "What do you think? Belle-mère's cooking is better than even the head chefs at the Marine cafeteria!"

Nojiko also smiled, handing him a glass of juice. "Don't just eat meat. Have some juice to wash it down."

Law nodded, his movements still a bit stiff, but the corners of his mouth had imperceptibly turned upwards.

Across the table, Ace and Luffy were now fighting over the last meatball, one holding a fork, the other yelling, "That's mine!", both with several fist marks on their heads. Roy calmly drank his soup, occasionally reaching out to rap them on the head. "No fighting at the table!"

"My, my, what a lively bunch..." Belle-mère watched them, her eyes full of a soft smile, as if she were seeing the warmth of a true home.

Law quietly ate the food on his plate. The sounds of Ace and Luffy's bickering, Nami's teasing, Belle-mère's gentle laughter, and Roy's exasperated but tolerant scolding filled his ears.

Is this... what a family feels like?

He slowly looked up, his gaze sweeping over everyone at the table, a warmth he had never felt before in his eyes. Finally, his eyes rested on Roy. "...It's not so bad," he murmured, then quickly looked down and stuffed the beef he had just picked up into his mouth, as if to hide the slight, softening smile.

The sea breeze gently blew through the window, caressing this warm scene and scattering the gloom in his heart. This meal tasted sweeter than any other.
