"Here's the thing about making deals with mysterious sorceresses: you always leave with more questions than answers. Case in point, I've apparently unlocked a sliver of my power, but I still have no clue what that actually means—or what it'll cost me."
---
By the time we return to town, the sun is starting to rise, casting the streets in an eerie golden glow.
Kira looks exhausted but resolute, while I'm barely holding myself upright. Blobby has been uncharacteristically quiet, sitting snugly in my bag.
"You're improving," Kira says as we walk.
"Great," I mutter. "Let's celebrate by sleeping for the next week."
Kira smirks but doesn't reply.
---
At school, the day drags by like a bad dream. Reina immediately notices my zombie-like state and bombards me with questions.
"You look like you haven't slept in days," she says, frowning. "Are you sick?"
"Just…did some late-night studying," I reply weakly.
"For what? You never study."
I glance at Kira, who's sitting nearby, pretending not to listen.
"Special project," I mumble.
Reina narrows her eyes. "You're hiding something."

"Reina's like a bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out lies. Unfortunately, I'm more like a raw steak in this scenario."
---
The day finally ends, and I practically collapse into my bed the moment I get home.
That night, I have the strangest dream.
I'm standing in the middle of an endless void, surrounded by swirling energy.
In front of me is a massive, coiled dragon, its scales shimmering with a kaleidoscope of colors.
"Who…who are you?" I ask.
The dragon's eyes open, glowing with an intense, otherworldly light.
"I am you," it says, its voice echoing through the void. "And you are me."
---

"Okay, cool. Talking dragon me. Totally normal. Definitely not questioning my sanity right now."
---
"What does that even mean?" I demand.
The dragon doesn't answer. Instead, it lunges toward me, its energy flooding my senses.
I wake up with a start, drenched in sweat and gasping for air.
Blobby is perched on my pillow, staring at me with what I can only describe as concern.
"Boss? You okay?"
"No," I mutter. "I think I just met my inner dragon. And it's terrifying."
---
The next morning, I decide to confide in Kira.
"You dreamed of the dragon?" she asks, her expression unreadable.
"Yeah," I say. "It said it was me, and I was it. What does that even mean?"
Kira sighs. "It means your power is awakening. The dragon isn't just a part of you—it is you. The more you connect with it, the stronger you'll become. But…"
"But?"
She hesitates. "The stronger you become, the harder it will be to stay…human."
---

"Great. Add 'losing my humanity' to the ever-growing list of problems. At this rate, I'm going to need a therapist—and probably a new bag of snacks for Blobby."
---
Before I can respond, the ground shakes violently, and a deafening roar echoes through the town.
Kira immediately tenses. "That's not normal."
"No kidding," I say, grabbing my bag.
Blobby pokes its head out, looking unusually serious. "Boss, this feels bad. Really bad."
---
We race outside to find the sky darkening unnaturally, swirling with black clouds.
In the distance, a massive figure emerges—a creature unlike anything I've ever seen. It's part dragon, part shadow, and entirely menacing.
"What the hell is that?" I ask, my voice shaking.
"The Enforcer's master," Kira says grimly. "The Shadow Dragon."
---

"Okay, new rule: if something has 'shadow' in its name, I'm officially not a fan. Also, why does it always have to be dragons? Why not, like, a giant puppy or something?"
---
The creature lets out another roar, and I feel a wave of pure fear wash over me.
Kira draws her blade, her eyes blazing with determination. "Stay back. I'll handle this."
"Are you insane?" I snap. "You can't fight that thing alone!"
"I don't have a choice," she says. "If it gets to you, it's over."
---
Before I can argue further, the Shadow Dragon lunges toward us, its massive claws tearing through the ground.
Kira leaps forward, slashing at it with her sword, but the creature barely flinches.
"Blobby," I whisper, my voice trembling. "What do we do?"
Blobby hesitates. "You have to use your power, Boss. It's the only way."
"I can't control it!" I protest.
"You don't have to control it," Blobby says. "Just trust it."
---
Narration Mode Activated
"Right. Trust the terrifying dragon god power inside me. Because that worked so well last time. But hey, what's the worst that could happen? Oh, right. Death."
---
Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and focus, reaching for the energy deep within me.
It responds immediately, flooding my senses with heat and light.
When I open my eyes, the world looks different—sharper, more vibrant. I can feel the dragon's power coursing through me, wild and untamed.
---
The Shadow Dragon turns its attention to me, its glowing eyes narrowing.
"You dare challenge me, little one?" it growls.
"Not really," I admit. "But here we are."
With a roar of my own, I charge forward, unleashing a blast of energy that collides with the creature, sending shockwaves through the air.
---
For a moment, everything is chaos—fire, shadows, and raw power clashing in a dizzying display.
But then, as quickly as it began, it's over.
The Shadow Dragon lets out a final, anguished roar before collapsing, its body dissolving into darkness.
I'm left standing in the middle of a crater, my entire body trembling with exhaustion.
---
Kira approaches cautiously, her expression a mix of relief and awe.
"You did it," she says.
"Yeah," I reply weakly. "But at what cost?"
---
Meanwhile…
In the shadow council's lair, the leader watches the events unfold through a glowing orb.
"He's stronger than we anticipated," one member says.
The leader smiles coldly. "Good. Let him grow stronger. It will make his fall all the more satisfying."
The camera zooms in on the orb, revealing Akira staring at his trembling hands, the dragon's power still flickering around him.
