Chapter 749: The Golden Master of Bounty Hall
"Right, boss, is that task of yours ready for release now?" Zhou Wenmo didn't delve further into the matter of the ancient Qing Tian, since Tang Rao would occasionally spout things she couldn't understand anyway.
"Yep, almost there, just need to pay for it, right?" Tang Rao asked.
"That's right." Zhou Wenmo nodded.
The detailed requirements of the task had already been sorted out by her; as soon as Tang Rao paid one hundred million Immortal Stones, the task would officially be released.
If Tang Rao didn't select ten cultivators from the Luo Xian Realm under forty years old by then, the Bounty Hall would refund the Immortal Stones on a pro-rata basis.
"Alright then, help me make the transfer." Tang Rao took out the bounty card and handed it to Zhou Wenmo.
Zhou Wenmo was very quick with her operations, taking less than two minutes to complete the process before handing the bounty card back to Tang Rao.
"Ding!" As soon as the task was released, a crisp sound echoed throughout the Bounty Hall.
"Boss, tasks worth ten million or more get announced, and everyone in the Bounty Hall will hear the task summary. I think it won't be a problem to recruit ten people, and the quality should be very good," Zhou Wenmo said with a smile.
"Not bad at all." Tang Rao nodded. It was just like a server-wide announcement in an online game. The Bounty Hall was doing a pretty good job in every aspect, and he actually wanted to strike up a partnership with the Bounty Hall.
Using Illusion City as the platform, the Bounty Hall's range of task acceptance and release could be greatly expanded in the future, and both Illusion City and the Bounty Hall could make a huge profit.
However, Tang Rao didn't feel assured. After all, he didn't even know who owned the Bounty Hall.
Soon, a voice rang out across the entire Bounty Hall, starting to broadcast Tang Rao's task.
When it announced the reward of one hundred million and that it was to be divided among ten people, with the task being just to serve as guards for two months, the whole Bounty Hall exploded, everyone exclaiming in shock.
A mission worth one hundred million Immortal Stones, the implications were huge.
It should be noted that even cultivators of the Luo Xian Realm would typically only take on tasks at the hundred thousand level; tasks worth over a million were much harder to come by, often time-consuming and more dangerous.
Immortal Stones were not as easy to earn as one might think.
Splitting one hundred million Immortal Stones among ten people was an enormous temptation for Luo Xian cultivators.
Of course, the task had its restrictions; only Luo Xian cultivators under forty could apply.
In the Land of Immortals, Luo Xian cultivators in their thirties might not be considered top geniuses, but they were still fairly impressive. Even in some mid-level forces, they could be considered pillars of the community.
However, within those mid-tier forces, the idea of earning ten million Immortal Stones in two months was unimaginable; it simply couldn't be done.
For a typical mid-tier force, yearly earnings of twenty or thirty million Immortal Stones were already very impressive.
One could imagine how terrifying Tang Rao's hundred million-plus task was.
"Wen Mo, I have a question for you," Tang Rao finally spoke up after pondering for a while in Zhou Wenmo's room.
"Go ahead, boss." Zhou Wenmo was in a good mood, as finalizing Tang Rao's task would significantly boost her status within the Bounty Hall.
"So, uh, who established the Bounty Hall?" Tang Rao inquired.
"The Golden Master." Zhou Wenmo replied.
"The Golden Master? You're not telling me that's their actual name, right?" Tang Rao was startled. Someone capable of opening a place like the Bounty Hall must be extremely influential and wealthy, so the title of Golden Master was warranted. But surely, that couldn't actually be their name?
"Name... that, I'm not really sure about. I only know that the person behind the scenes is called the Golden Master, but as for who they are or what they look like, I haven't a clue and have never seen them," Zhou Wenmo said, shaking her head.
"Oh, can you get in touch with the Golden Master?" Tang Rao asked.
"I can't do that; I'm ranked too low. If it were someone from the higher-ups, they might be able to make contact. Someone like Han Jiuqing should be able to," Zhou Wenmo replied.
Tang Rao was familiar with Han Jiuqing; Zhou Wenmo had mentioned him before, the old man who had come along with Lu Shengkai when he had intended to cripple Lu Tianhao.
Han Jiuqing was Lu Tianhao's godfather and had a good relationship with Lu Shengkai.
However, even though Lu Tianhao wasn't killed by Tang Rao himself, after all, he had still tormented Lu Tianhao before, and Tang Rao wondered what Han Jiuqing's attitude towards this would be.
If he was very displeased with Tang Rao, it might not work out.
"Wen Mo, how are your relations with Han Jiuqing?" Tang Rao asked.
"They're okay, Mr. Han is Lu Tianhao's godfather but he's decent as a person. He looked after me a lot when I first joined the Bounty Hall," Zhou Wenmo replied.
"That so, then can you feel him out for me, see if he's willing to arrange a meeting with the Golden Master for me? I'd like to discuss some partnership with your Golden Master. If he asks about the amount, tell him it's over ten billion," Tang Rao said.
Ten billion...
Zhou Wenmo swallowed hard, not really knowing what to make of Tang Rao; a collaboration worth over ten billion was simply terrifying.
Although she was unclear about how much the Bounty Hall made in a year, it definitely wouldn't exceed two hundred million Immortal Stones. Tang Rao's mere mention of over ten billion was astonishing.
"Alright, boss, I'll go talk to Mr. Han," Zhou Wenmo nodded.
"Okay, I'll wait here for you," Tang Rao replied. If he could reach an agreement with the Bounty Hall, it would greatly enhance both the promotion of Illusion City and his money-making capabilities.
About ten minutes later, Zhou Wenmo returned.
"How'd it go?" Tang Rao asked.
"Mr. Han suggested that you go and speak with him personally," Zhou Wenmo said with a shrug, noting that Han Jiuqing didn't seem too pleased when she spoke to him about this matter.
"Then, he's not out for revenge, is he?" Tang Rao muttered.
"He wouldn't do that, Mr. Han isn't that sort of person. Besides, Lu Shengkai wasn't seriously harmed, Mr. Han won't target you. However, he might not be willing to help you contact the Golden Master; his expression wasn't great when I went to see him," Zhou Wenmo explained.
"I see, then take me to him," Tang Rao said, getting up.
"This is the place, I won't go in," Zhou Wenmo quickly brought Tang Rao to Han Jiuqing's room.
Tang Rao knocked on the door, and from inside came two words, "come in," the voice sounding quite somber.
"Boss, I'll wait for you outside," Zhou Wenmo said to Tang Rao.
"No need, you go back first. I'll leave as soon as we've finished speaking. I still have to cook dinner..." Tang Rao said with a look of resignation.
He didn't want to be a chef, but Xiao Yun, that stubborn girl, demanded that he make delicious food; she threatened not to act as a bodyguard if she was not fed, leaving him no choice.
"Uh, okay," Zhou Wenmo felt Tang Rao was quite mysterious, such a powerful individual was still making dinner for a few guards, a truly eccentric person.
"Mr. Han, hello," as Tang Rao entered the room, he saw Han Jiuqing sitting upright and waved a greeting.
"Sit," Han Jiuqing looked up at Tang Rao, stretched out his hand to point at a stool, indicating for Tang Rao to take a seat.
