The Peerless Beauty Stuck With Me

Chapter 664: The Purpose of Kao Shan Sect

"Niu Ben, bring the person up here."

"Yes, Sect Master!" Niu Ben responded, then gestured for Tang Rao to come forward.

"Tang Rao, this is the Sect Master. Remember to bow respectfully later," Niu Ben reminded Tang Rao.

Tang Rao nodded his head, thankful it was just a bow. If you fuckers were going to make me kneel and kowtow, Daddy's gonna ignore y'all.

"Hello there, Sect Master, you're so dashing! The moment I saw you, I knew you were extraordinary. Your presence is so commanding," Tang Rao called out after standing in place and bending slightly at the waist.

Everyone blinked, taken aback for a moment.

That comment, it was so…overly straightforward.

"Ahem, so, you're Tang Rao, right? I heard you're from the Seventy-two Domains of the Nine Realms?" asked He Kaoshan with a cough.

Truth be told, even though Tang Rao's remarks were a bit audacious, they really did make one happy to hear.

"Yes, Sect Master, I come from the Seventy-two Domains of the Nine Realms," Tang Rao nodded.

"Seventy-two Domains of the Nine Realms, right. I recall that two individuals from there have recently ascended," murmured He Kaoshan.

For He Kaoshan, the Seventy-two Domains didn't leave much of an impression; thus, he didn't particularly like or dislike it.

"Yeah, that's right. Hey, Sect Master, may I ask what color the Energy Circle of the cultivator from the Seventy-two Domains who ascended before me was?" Tang Rao inquired.

He always felt that he'd been screwed over by that Energy Circle. My talents are clearly exceptional, so why was it transparent…

After all, Tang Rao believed that his talents must be better than Xiao Xiangruo's. If Xiao Xiangruo's was colored, then it must have been some issue with the damn Energy Circle.

Your dear Daddy Tang advanced to the peak of cultivation twice in less than thirty years; there's no way Xiao Xiangruo's talents can match mine.

She has color while I'm transparent; that's obviously unfair.

"Well, I don't really know about that. I'm just aware of such an event, but as for the color of the Energy Circle, I've got no clue. Do you know this person?" He Kaoshan inquired.

"Not really, I just know her name is Xiao Xiangruo, and she's pretty formidable," said Tang Rao.

Whether the Kao Shan Sect was good or bad and what He Kaoshan was like as a person were still unknown to Tang Rao, so he thought it best not to say too much under these circumstances.

"Alright, then… let's proceed with the induction ceremony," He Kaoshan said, looking somewhat disappointed.

Niu Ben had already informed him about Tang Rao's transparent Energy Circle, so He Kaoshan held no real hope for Tang Rao.

If he were acquainted with Xiao Xiangruo, that might have been of some use, considering Xiao Xiangruo seemed to have ties with some significant power.

Unfortunately, there was no interaction between Tang Rao and Xiao Xiangruo.

Knowing just a name, was utterly useless.

"Okay, Sect Master. Is there something I need to do?" Tang Rao asked.

"I'll tell you in a moment. Let's begin," said He Kaoshan.

"The induction ceremony begins! Those joining the sect, enter!" announced Niu Ben.

Following that, two lines of people walked in.

Yes, two lines, a good hundred people.

Tang Rao paused for a moment, then came to terms with it. Though the Kao Shan Sect wasn't some major sect, it was a sect nonetheless – there would always be people joining.

The Land of Immortals wasn't comprised solely of Immortal Power cultivators.

Just like humans, are all humans really human? Of course not, among humans, many are beasts.

"Reporting to the Sect Master, this time a total of one hundred and two people have joined the Sect," Niu Ben shouted.

"Good, let's begin!" He Kaoshan nodded slightly, and seemed to have gained some authority.

However, even though he tried his best to appear dignified, he still looked odd and shabbily dressed.

There was no helping it, the clothes really were affecting his image.

"The so-called reliance is to rely on others and oneself. In weakness, one relies on others; in strength, one becomes the reliance for others. Ultimately, one must rely on oneself. In life, one must assess the situation, understand one's own heart and nature, and strive for the greatest breakthroughs with the greatest rules. Today, you rely on the Kao Shan Sect, but I hope that one day, you can become the reliance for the Kao Shan Sect." Niu Ben began to recite the principles of the Kao Shan Sect.

Although his words sounded straightforward, they contained profound truth.

With just a few sentences, Tang Rao felt they were quite meaningful.

In weakness, rely on others; in strength, rely on oneself.

"Now, each person shall receive a Sect Token. You may inscribe one character on it, and as for what character it is, you may decide for yourselves," Niu Ben continued.

Tang Rao had never heard of inscribing one's own Sect Token before.

"Guided by the power of the Immortal Path, inscribe the realization within your heart onto the Sect Token. This character will become your mark in the Kao Shan Sect, imprinting your future and your scope. Alright, let's begin," He Kaoshan said, although his instructions were not very clear, they were vague yet made inscribing the character seem very important.

After He Kaoshan finished speaking, people started to inscribe.

Some completed it very quickly, finishing in just a few seconds.

As for Tang Rao, he had not moved yet.

He was considering what character to inscribe, which should embody the essence of the Dao contained in his heart.

There were languages and scripts in the Land of Immortals, and Tang Rao was endowed with them upon entering; the Nine Realms and Seventy-two Domains also had various languages and scripts, many of which Tang Rao understood.

However, after thinking it over, he felt the script of Yan Kingdom made him feel closer and better expressed certain things.

"This will do," Tang Rao finally decided after a few minutes.

Then, he drew upon the power of the Immortal Path.

As for the essence of the Dao to be merged, it was the understanding that Tang Rao had just gained from Niu Ben's enunciation of the Kao Shan Sect's principles, without adding anything else, it was pure and unadulterated.

"Buzz!" The black Sect Token in Tang Rao's hand started to tremble as if it was responding to the Dao essence he had imbued, and Tang Rao's mind suddenly gained something more.

"This is? Kao Shan Heart Method? What the hell?" Tang Rao was taken aback.

Does everyone get this? They probably do, Tang Rao didn't think too much about it.

Soon, the trembling of the Sect Token subsided. On the token, a character was inscribed: "Momentum."

The 'momentum' in assessing situations, of course, Tang Rao's 'momentum' was slightly different from simply assessing situations.

In Tang Rao's view, relying on a mountain means assessing situations on one hand, and on the other hand, learning to rely on the prevailing momentum.

Relying on the major trends as your stronghold, wherever you are, there are mainstreams, there are prevailing trends. If you follow the trend, unless you are extremely capable, it is impossible to break free from it.

To have a strong sense of the overall situation is to secure an unbeatable position.

"It seems that all of you have finished inscribing. Presumably, you have also received the Kao Shan Heart Method," He Kaoshan exclaimed.

Indeed, everyone got it.

"The Kao Shan Heart Method consists of five parts: reliance on people, on the land, on the heavens, on the Dao, and on nature. A person who grasps three parts is outstanding; one in ten understands four parts, a real rarity; and one who understands all five parts is a child of the great Dao, a blessing of Mount Kao. The Sect will not interfere, and in time, you will come to understand," He Kaoshan continued.

However, at this moment, Tang Rao was a bit baffled. Five parts? Wasn't it supposed to be seven parts?
