Chapter 749 - 374: Return to Heng Yuan World_2
Chapter 749: Chapter 374: Return to Heng Yuan World_2
Zhi Ling solemnly instructed, “Little brother, it’s enough that you know. The master hasn’t planned to reveal his identity to White Painting and Big Bull yet, so don’t you blab, okay?”
“I will definitely keep the secret, sister, I’ve missed you so much. It’s been over two thousand years since we’ve seen each other. When the master appeared under his other two identities, he had no Spiritual Pets, and I, I thought…” Zhi Lei looked at his sister, feeling the breath of their connected bloodlines, and couldn’t help but step forward and hug her tightly.
Zhi Ling pushed him away with a look of disgust, “Thought what, that I was gone? You must believe in the master, stop jumping to conclusions. Now, we’re going to go back to Heng Yuan World with our master to see our parents. I wanted to go with you, which is why I had the master tell you about your identity.”
“Thank you, master. Sister, when our parents ascended to immortality, they were still thinking of you…” Zhi Lei hurriedly thanked her with a clasped fist, then looked at his sister with a touch of sadness.
Zhi Ling gently pulled Zhi Lei into her arms, “Come on, let’s go down and see our parents. Master, we’re ready.”
“Let’s go. I’ll take you into the Spirit Pet Column. Zhi Lei, it’s your first time entering, so don’t be nervous. Inside, you’ll be able to see everything that’s happening outside,” Lin Yi said with a nod, noting that Zhi Lei, though his Spiritual Pet, had never entered the Spirit Pet Column before.
Zhi Lei nodded dumbly, while Zhi Ling explained some things about the Spirit Pet Column to him, making his eyes widen in disbelief at such a wondrous thing.
Afterward, Lin Yi took the three Spirit Pets into the Spirit Pet Column, sent a message to several Holy Envoys to let them know he had matters to attend to, and then his figure flashed, disappearing from within the Holy Sect.
A while later, his form appeared on the Ascension Platform deep within the Demon Tribe’s territory, completely unnoticed by the Holy Sect members guarding it.
After Big Bull escorted the Ascending Spirit Beasts to the Holy Sect, those who remained to guard the place were from Tiger Gate.
After transforming, the figure Tiger Gate conjured appeared rough and brawny, but with eyes that darted around sneakily, giving off a cunning vibe. When he first saw it, he nearly couldn’t restrain a burst of laughter.
The reason he came to this Ascension Platform was to use the Ascension Tunnel below to cross through; this way, he could avoid passing through the spatial turbulence.
Even with his current strength, protected by Primordial Chaos Energy, spatial turbulence wouldn’t be able to harm him a bit, but descending from the Ascension Platform would save him a lot of time and energy. Why not, then?
Unlike the Ascension Platforms of the Human race, which are scattered across various locations, the Demon Tribe’s Ascension Platforms are gathered in one place. There are only five of them, half the number of the Human race’s platforms, but each connected to a significantly increased number of Cultivation Worlds.
Lin Yi stood on the Ascension Platform connected to the Heng Yuan World; first, he used “Predict Crisis” and, seeing no reaction from his body, he then activated the Primordial Chaos Energy and vanished from the Ascension Platform, entering the Ascension Tunnel below.
However, he saw that below there were many offshoots from the main Ascension Tunnel, leading to different worlds.
Through the Eye of Emptiness, he looked at the lines of causality to find the direction of Heng Yuan World and flew straight into it. Judging by the lack of reaction from “Predict Crisis,” there should be no Monster Beasts ascending through the tunnel at the moment—he wouldn’t want to have a crash otherwise.
Of course, with his current strength, he could break through the void and leave the space channel at any time, so even if there were Monster Beasts ascending, he could quickly escape.
Within the Ascension Tunnel, Lin Yi could clearly sense the spatial turbulence even without using the Eye of Emptiness and even exercise some control over it. Such is the power of Primordial Chaos Energy.
Soon, there was light ahead, and he burst out of the Ascension Tunnel into the lower Cultivation World. Protected by the Primordial Chaos Energy, the laws of this Cultivation World couldn’t suppress him in the slightest, or rather, they couldn’t even sense his presence.
Upon arrival in the lower world, Lin Yi felt a suffocating sensation, having grown accustomed to the rich Spiritual Energy of the upper Spirit Profound Realm. Coming to the lower Cultivation World was like a fish from the sea arriving on land.
This is also why Cultivators from the upper realms, even if they had the ability to descend, were reluctant to do so; living in an environment with thin Spiritual Energy is a great suffering for powerful Cultivators.
He stood above, observing this world and using the Eye of Emptiness for a deeper inspection, he found traces of formations left by powerful beings; this Cultivation World seemed to be refined by some great powers.
Lin Yi had an epiphany, these Cultivation Worlds should be the places where cultivators are nurtured. The lower Cultivation Worlds held no great dangers, merely strife amongst Human Cultivators.
In the Spirit Profound Realm, there were threats from the Demon Tribe and the Demon race, and even the Insect Race, resembling a proving ground. Only the truly outstanding cultivators could rise above the rest and ascend to the Immortal Realm.
Lin Yi was carrying a longsword, a standard equipment for martial artists. He didn’t choose a more elegant or handsome sword because the majority of cultivators mainly use swords. In the Qi Refinement Realm, they practice with magic swords, and in the Foundation Establishment Stage, they use flying swords. Elegance is the main selling point.
He was no exception. Although he didn’t practice with a magic sword during the Qi Refinement Realm, once he reached the Foundation Establishment stage, he would certainly learn sword control and acquire a flying sword.
Therefore, every swordsman could potentially attract the Flower Thief’s attention. If he wanted to play the part, he couldn’t afford a single slipup.
Upon arriving at an inn called Drunken Fragrant Residence, he found it was indeed bustling just as the inn server had said; there’s even a stable to keep horses and a service for looking after goods.
With his longsword slung over his shoulder, Lin Yi strolled into the inn. His face and other exposed skin were made up to look as if he’d been travelling outside for a long time.
His arrival didn’t attract special attention. However, with his cultivator’s keen senses, he noted that a gaze was fixed on him.
Lin Yi didn’t care, he didn’t even glace in that direction. He was now playing the role of a martial artist and couldn’t appear too percipient.
Many cultivators tend to feel superior when facing martial artists or ordinary people. Some Loose Cultivators in Qing Yun City even bullied martial artists.
Yet he acted completely normal. Seeing the lively scene, he even licked his chapped lips.
At this moment, the inn’s waiter approached. “Sir, you came just in time. We don’t have any vacant tables left. Can you share a table with other guests?”
“Sure.” Lin Yi nodded and then followed the waiter to a seat by the window.
At the table, two martial artists were already seated. He bowed and said, “Pardon me for the intrusion, gentlemen.”
“No, no. Please be seated.” One of the martial artists with a square face said, waving his hand with a smile. The other one was eating his food nonchalantly.
“Waiter, I heard from the innkeeper that the food in your inn is affordable and delicious. Please bring us a few your of signature dishes and a jug of wine,” Lin Yi ordered.
“Certainly, sir. You have come to the right place, the Drunken Fragrant Residence.” The waiter replied with a smile, then instructed the kitchen to prepare the food.
Once the food and wine were served, Lin Yi poured a cup of wine and raised a toast to the two martial artists. “Gentlemen, I raise this cup to you.” He finished his wine in one gulp.
“You have impressive drinking skills. However, I assume you’re new here as you look unfamiliar. Weren’t you in Qing Shi City before?” The square-faced martial artist asked after draining his wine cup.
After his words, Lin Yi felt several gazes fall onto him. Among them was the gaze that had been on him when he first walked in the door. It came from just two tables away.
“I was previously tasked in Chaozhou City and Xi Sha City. The environments there are not so good, so I planned to come to Qing Shi City. It’s close to the Cultivation World, perhaps I can earn some spirit pearls.” Lin Yi replied without hesitation.
He had memorised all the information about the cities ruled by the Liu Yun Sect, including famous local inns and the Flower Moon Land, which are places frequented by martial artists.
“Indeed. Xi Sha City is near the desert. Looking at your face, it seems you’ve been sunburned,” said the martial artist with a square face, nodding as he observed Lin Yi’s sun-dried and tanned face.
He smiled and waved his hand gently, and all the formations ceased operation.
“Who are you?” A deep voice came from above the sky.
“Who I am, you will know in a moment,” Lin Yi’s figure vanished instantly and when he reappeared, he was already in the Dan God’s Cave Mansion.
