The Owl House: Son of Edalyn (Owlphibia AU)

Chapter 23: Rage Unleashed

Despite Anne Boonchuy's loud snoring, the room felt DEAD SILENT

the longer that Olivier Clawthorne continued to stare at Amity Blight.

a full minute passed, and not once did he ever blink...and it creeped everyone one out.

"uhhh...h-hi?" blurted out Amity, finally.

In that moment...the room became colder. So cold, everyone could see their own breath.

Frost grew over the bedroom windows, and a dark aura illuminated from Olivier's body.

Everyone watched as Olivier's unblinking eyes slowly changed...

his white Sclera turned black as if some living shadow had overtaken it.

As this happened, his right Gold eye turned Sapphire to match it's twin,

And finally, Olivier's normally black pupils glowed an icy cyan blue.

Almost as if it was burning like a hot coal fresh out of the fire.

(only in this case, it was less "burning", and more of "Freezing.")

Eda felt chills as she sensed her son's power grow.

It was a magic that felt Dark, and very, VERY angry...

...and it actually frightened her.

"Oh-Olli-"

In an instant, Olivier suddenly disappeared out of his bed as if he 'blinked' out of existence.

Seconds later...he suddenly reappeared, and lunged at Amity Blight with such force,

that Luz fell to the floor, looking up in horror as Amity was pinned to a nearby wall.

Olivier's body was now flaring with a dark energy, his hand gripping tightly around Amity's throat.

Amity gasped, choking mildly. She looked on in shock as Olivier's auburn hair was gradually turning darker in color.

(("YOU...ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.")) growled Olivier, a beast-like growl in his voice.

Amity's eyes widened as she stared into Olivier's own.

"NO, STOP!" called Luz, rushing over.

Luz tried to slap a Glyph Slip onto Olivier...but a stray bolt struck her,

harmlessly knocking her across the room and into Eda's arms (who was quick to catch her.)

It was then that Olivier's hair turned black as night with a purple sheen.

It waved upwards in the air as if being blown by an invisible wind.

As the dark energy radiating from Olivier's body flared up like a dark blue fire,

the ground beneath Olivier himself began to rumble.

Almost As if the earth was trembling from his very presence.

Eda, Luz, Willow, King and even Gwendolyn all stared in shock at this.

With the exception of Luz, they could all feel the incredible rise in Olivier's power now.

It was greater than anything they had felt before...Almost like Ten-Thousand Witches.

The closest comparison that Eda and Luz had at the very least,

as Eda herself when Lilith held Luz hostage and challenged her sister to one final duel.

In that battle...Eda held nothing back. She literally gave everything she had against her own sister,

nearly destroying Emperor Belos' castle (something she took great pride in) in the process.

(and this was all BEFORE Lilith let it slip that *SHE* had been the one

who cursed her as a child all those years ago, and ruined her life.)

And if not for Eda's curse that drained her magic the more she used it...she MIGHT'VE won that battle.

But Lilith was always the cunning one, and managed to survive long enough to win by default.

But this...Whatever Olivier had just turned into was on a whole other level.

As powerful as Eda was back then, the Power Olivier now had was TEN TIMES stronger than that

Enough that Eda suspected that had Olivier met Lilith on that day, the "battle" would've ended in SECONDS.

With such power, she doubted even the Coven Heads themselves could stop him...

...so How in the ACTUAL HELL were they going to stop Olivier from presumably killing Amity right now.

"OLIVIER!...STOP!" shouted Willow.

Olivier either couldn't hear, or wasn't listening.

He just continued to pin Amity to the wall, slowing cracking the wooden surface.

Amity gritted her teeth, feeling true terror as she gazed at this 'Demon Boy' that was once her childhood friend.

As Olivier's eyes turned solid black. Now resembling an Empty Void, than actual eyes.

Amity swallowed hard, dreading her imminent end.

but then...a cyan glow illuminated the room.

a hand glowing with a blue aura gently grasped Olivier's arm.

Olivier looked...and saw Anne Boonchuy, her once bushy brown hair now a blueberry color.

The twigs and leaves in her hair grown out like branches and flowers (almost like a royal crown.)

Amity looked to the Other Human, sensing a powerful magic in her as well.

It was a magic JUST as strong as whatever was in Olivier.

But it felt more soothing...and calmer.

"stop." spoke Anne, looking right at Olivier.

Olivier stared at Anne, his expression unreadable.

"let it go, ollie..." spoke Anne, again. "let her go."

For the longest minute...Olivier and Anne stared at each other.

Both resembling a pair of gods deciding the fate of a 'mere mortal.'

No one dared to do, or say anything.

Finally...Anne reached out with her other hand, and caressed Olivier's cheek.

a light blue magic touched his face, and spread over his body.

Slowly...the dark magic that surged within Olivier faded away, and he gradually reverted back

to the auburn haired, gold/sapphire eyed boy that most everyone knew and still loved.

Olivier finally released Amity...who dropped down, and coughed.

"Amity!"

As Luz ran over to Amity, Olivier's legs grew weak as he dropped to his knees.

Anne caught him, and knelt him down to the floor safely.

Luz and Amity watched as Anne's own glow faded, and she reverted back to a normal human.

Anne embraced Olivier tightly, stroking his hair in a similar way that Eda had done earlier.

"it's okay, ollie...I'm here." spoke Anne, softly. "everything is going to be okay."

Everyone continued to watch wordlessly as Olivier murmured slightly.

He opened his eyes, and looked at his human girlfriend.

"annie?" spoke Olivier.

"yes, Ollie...I'm here." repeated Anne.

"I had...the worst dream." muttered Olivier.

Amity widened her eyes at this. Olivier...Didn't remember what had just happened?!

"olivier?..."

Olivier looked over Anne's shoulder...and widened his now tearful eyes at who he saw.

"M-Mom?!...K-King?...WILLOW!?" Olivier was in total disbelief. "please tell me I'm not still dreaming."

Without warning, King did a flying leap and tackled Olivier.

Anne stepped back, startled at the strange, 'Cubone-like' creature that was hugging Olivier.

"YOU'RE BACK!" exclaimed King.

Before Olivier could react, Willow ran over next and trapped the boy in a bear hug.

Willow smiled tearfully as she lifted Olivier up, and hugged him tightly...

...which made Olivier wince from Willow's literally crushing hug.

"I-WE missed you SO MUCH!" said Willow...who then finally released Olivier.

After catching his breathe, Olivier looked up as his mother approached.

The two stared at each other for awhile, both unsure just what to say to each other.

"Oliv-" Eda was suddenly cut off by Olivier rushing in and hugging her.

"I'm sorry!...I'm so, so sorry mama." spoke Olivier, practically crying.

"I know you must be so mad at me for...for...(*tears up*) I'm sorry."

Eda smiled as she hugged Olivier back.

"I wasn't angry with you, son...Disappointed, Yes. but NEVER angry." began Eda.

"I was more scared, than anything. I had no idea where you were. or if you were even...still alive."

Olivier frowned. "I'm sorry for worrying you...I tried to get back home, I really-"

"I know...your sweetheart told me everything when I met her briefly."

Olivier's eyes lit up and then glanced at Anne for a moment.

"oh...YEAH. She did meet you already." mused Olivier. "DANG, I wish I had been there."

"What matters is that you are here NOW..." said Eda. "you are home."

Olivier looked at his mother again...and noted she now had eyes similar to his own,

with one of her eyes now a dull grey color, instead of both being gold.

"Mom...Ah-Annie told me that-, that you...Your magic. Is it really-"

Eda breathed out sadly. She tried to draw a spell circle with her finger...but it fizzled out.

"yes...In order to save myself, I had to share my curse with-, I...I had to share my curse.

Because of that, my magic is much weaker than it was before. YOU are now more powerful than me."

Olivier frowned, feeling like a total failure for allowing this to happen.

"I know that look." spoke Anne, approaching. "This isn't your fault, Ollie."

"Then why does it FEEL like it is..." grumbled Olivier.

After an uncomfortable silence...Luz stood up, and approached (while Amity kept her distance.)

"Umm...H-Hi." began Luz nervously (trying to be friendly.)

"We've never met, but...I am Luz Noceda. I am Eda's Apprentice, and...I also know Anne."

Olivier looked at the new face in the room. "luz?...OH!, Now I remember. Anne told me about you."

Luz forced a smile. "Ye-yes!, I am a human like her. A-AND I an also do Magic...kind of."

Luz then shows Olivier her sketch pad with symbol drawings.

"I learned of something called Glyphs, and I an use them to trigger specific spells."

Luz then tapped one of the sketches, which caused the sheet of paper to turn into a ball of light.

"Oooooohh..." marveled Anne (STILL very much impressed by this.)

"That's pretty cool." spoke Olivier.

"Yeah, and right now it's the only magic I *CAN* do." commented Eda.

"Glyphs are apparently a very old form of magic that most witches have forgotten about.

But the kid here discovered them all on her own, and we're now experimenting with Glyph Combos."

Olivier grinned. "Sounds like you snagged yourself a good pupil, mom."

Eda smirked back at her son. "I hear you have, too."

Olivier began to blush at this. "ye-yeah...Maddie Flour. She's a Frog Girl who is good with potions."

"Hmm. now THAT sounds familiar." said Eda, chuckling.

Anne chose this time to approach Luz.

The two humans stared at each other...and then hugged.

"It's great to see you again, Luz." said Anne.

"and this time, NOTHING will separate us again." added Luz.

Amity scowled at this, not liking how 'close' Luz was getting with this other human.

(but considering this Anne Human kinda did save her life, she decided not to cause a scene.)

"Ollie..."

Olivier looked to Willow...and froze. "w-willow?!"

Willow smiled sheepishly. "It's...good to see you again. I was afraid that...that you were GONE."

Olivier frowned as approached the thick girl.

"I...don't understand how you can be so happy to see me." spoke Olivier.

"When I left Hexside, I didn't even bother to stay in touch with you...You should hate me."

"I'm not one to hold a grudge...Mostly." spoke Willow.

"and besides, I understood why you left: Too many bad memories."

"It was still no excuse to abandon you." continued Olivier.

"We were friends...and I ended up doing to you just what Amity had done too."

This remark made Amity flinch (and wishing she could turn invisible.)

"...I'm sorry." said Olivier. "Can you ever forgive me?"

Willow smiled...and then hugged Olivier (less tightly this time) "I already did."

Olivier smiled as he hugged Willow back. Anne and Luz also smiled, happy for them both.

...But the happy moment came to a halt once Olivier FINALLY noticed Amity Blight in the room.

"you..." growled Olivier, splitting from Willow and approaching Amity.

(("oh, no...not again.")) spoke Eda and King (both feeling Deja Vu.)

Amity stepped backward, only to be stopped by the wall where Olivier had pinned her prior. "uhhh..."

"what...in TITAN'S NAME...are you doing HERE?!" spoke Olivier coldly (yet oddly calmer.)

"I, uh-"

"You are *NOT* welcome here, Blight." spoke Olivier, glaring darkly. "GET OUT."

Luz quickly ran between Olivier and Amity. "Whoa, now...Let's all just CALM DOWN, and-"

"Why is *SHE* here?" growled Olivier, his colored irises flashing.

"Ollie...do you KNOW this girl?" asked Anne, recalling how angry Olivier was at the girl prior.

Anne then gasped as she began to piece some things together. "wait...is *SHE* the one who-"

Anne was now looking at Amity with a similar angry glare as her boyfriend.

She was well aware of Olivier's scars, and how he got him...just not WHO it was that had hurt him.

Olivier had been vague about it all, but what he DID reveal was that he once had a friend like Sasha Waybright.

a friend who he trusted...only for her to betray him.

If this Amity Blight was that very girl, then Despite having stopped Olivier

from literally ripping her head off just awhile ago, she wasn't about to let her go unpunished.

((*oh, crapbaskets...*)) thought Luz.

"O-KAY...That's enough!" spoke up Gwendolyn Clawthorne (finally breaking silence.)

"Why don't we all go downstairs, and discuss all this over some Tea and Cookies?"

Olivier cast one more glare at Amity Blight...and then huffed.

"fine. Tea & Cookies..." relented Olivier. "But THEN I want her to leave this place...and NEVER come back."

With that, Olivier turned in a huff and marched off.

Anne gave Amity a warning look as well, before leaving with Olivier.

Once the couple were gone, everyone exhaled in relief.

"well...I would say that went about as well as I expected" began Eda.

"But even *I* didn't expect THAT to happen!"

"What even WAS that back there?" mused Willow.

"whatever it was...I MUST ASPIRE TO BECOME IT!" proclaimed King.

Amity said nothing...she just remained still as a statue.

"Amity?...are you okay?" asked Luz.

"no." answered Amity. "I think I need to change my underpants."

Eda and King tried to hold in their laughter...but ultimately failed.
