THE NORTHERN KING

Stable secrets II

“Stop!” catylen called out, but Ida didn't reply and continued to walk down towards the stable doors.

“Stop…please” catylen called out again, this time her voice lower, before catylen could stop him, Forge Walked pass her to grab Ida by the shoulder, Ida turned away pulling her rapier on her waist.

Forge's quick reflexes were all that saved him from having his face impaled by the blade, she sliced at him across the chest, he didn't have an opportunity to dodge.a large slash appeared where her blade passed as he groaned in pain, backing off.

He was confident in his speed, but he swore that he didn't see her wave her blade, especially in this tight space like she was used to fighting in tight space, his broad sword was disadvantaged if only he could reach it before she poked him full of holes.

Ida stood there with her face facing up in front of her and her other hand holding the rein of her horse, she wore a black coat and brown pants with high boots her hair was tied back, he could see the sigil ring on her finger as he stepped back.

“Please stop Ida” catylen called out trying to break the fight, Ida turned to her with a disgusting look as catylen cleared her throat “please your highness I apologize for the behavior of my guard” she called out.

Ida shielded her sword and turned to leave, but catylen grabbed her hand, stopping her. “Please, can I talk to you?” She asked but Ida didn't turn to look at her.

Catylen let go of her and watched as Ida pulled her horse out of the stable, she could have sworn that she heard laughter but simply waved it off, she turned to Forge and then at the door before she ran out.

She stumbled upon Thalia, she jerked back almost falling over as the giant grabbed her lifting her off her feet, she planted a kiss on her lips. Catylen didn't struggle, she knew how useless it was because Thalia was far stronger than her.

“What are you doing here?” Thalia asked, slowly dropping catylen to her feet.

“I—I” catylen stuttered looking back at the stable door before turning again to look at Thalia who was still waiting for an answer.

“I love horses” she blurted out with a smile, Thalia would have known she was lying, but she was too stupidly in love with catlyen that she believed every word that she(catylen) said.

“Oh that's great, I love horses too. Although I can't ride them” Thalia added.

“Oh, that's so sad” catylen commented, again turning to the stable door once more.

“Is something wrong?” Thalia asked, pulling catylen behind her as she turned to the stable door.

“No, no, not at all. I think I left one of the stall open and I want to check if it is locked”.

“Let me come with you” Thalia called out, catylen objected, “come on, if one of the horses breaks free, there is no way you can handle it on your own”. With this, Thalia was already walking towards the stable, she ran after her (Thalia). Her heart was pounding again, Thalia was always on a verge of sudden anger and catylen had seen her anger up close as she once threw a servant down the castle wall for interrupting one of their sessions.

Thalia pushed the door open, her eyes scanned the room, looking to and fro—probably for the stall that was left open. Catylen was behind her, the creaking sound from the last stall drew both their attention as Thalia walked towards it.

“Don't you think it is best we call the stable boys?” Catylen suggested, but Thalia simply ignored her and looked through to find the stall empty, with a barrel on the floor. She turned to catylen with a smile gesturing her to come forward.

Catylen swallowed hard as she dragged her feet drawing closer, different thought ran through her mind, but the most vivid one was the one Thalia had painted for her that if she had caught her with anyone else she would rip her throat out.

Catylen knew for sure that Thalia would do that, she had seen her do worse—like kill a wide boar with her bare hand. She felt Thalia's cold hand grab her, pulling her close. For the first time, she realized that Thalia temperate was cold, far colder than hers.

She had heard that Giants didn't do well in the winter, they were sun creatures and Thalia was no exception, her face was plain, and her red hair was rough with it root pulling out of the twin braids. She wore a black leather jacket with golden buttons shaped in a raven and large red skirt, her belt held her waist revealing her shape that had many turning their heads. For a giant Thalia was beautiful.

She was still lost in thought when she felt her cold lips on hers, she was taken back from the cold, but soon it grew warm as she kissed her back, Thalia pulled her close wrapping her hand around her waist. Catylen didn't struggle, she had to keep Thalia occupied just enough time until Forge was able to sneak past them.

Her eyes urged him to hurry as he walked down the stable pass way, as soon the front door creaked Thalia turned but catylen grabbed her head turning her toward her.

“I'm here” she called out.

“But the door—”

“No but, just us for this moment” catylen called out as she could see Thalia eye light up as she lifted her on the barrel locking lips again.

Catylen could feel pieces of herself slowing ripping apart, how long before she was gone entirely?
