The mother in law gifts me a mountain for a new beginning

Chapter 56 - 200, Lynn takes over 200 Acres of Vineyards!

Chapter 56.  200, Lynn takes over 200 Acres of Vineyards!

Lynn was not angry and did not care about the slander the Kyle family head said about him. At one point or another, Lynn would destroy them through a war. Lynn did not care about what the enemy said as this kind of nonsense in the face of absolute power would have no use in fighting back. They would just be destroyed.

There was another part of the letter that had Lynn concerned. The Marquis of Gauffer and Tellen were related to this matter. Lynn knew them all too well. Marquis Gauffer’s territory was east to Kyle CIty and occupied most of the aquatic nature in the mainland. Tellen was located to the west of Theresa, and he owned two thirds of the Erasso Plain. Each marquis usually employed a military army of at least six corps or more. They also employed a few magicians.

Lynn did not expect that the battle between him and Kumori to involve two marquises, but he remained calm. The agreement between the two marquises should not be directly involved with Lynn. Patriarch Kyle could easily flatter people, and he should have been able to get what he wanted through trading. Marquis Gauffer should have been persuaded by Kyle to aid in the battle and would have made an agreement with Tellel. The marquises would not directly attack Lynn and he did not need to face those powerful enemies right now.

However, Lynn was also alarmed. His army needed to increase their strength as soon as possible, which meant that he needed a large number of gold coins. As long as he had gold, Lynn could have an almost unlimited number of warriors.

After reading the letter Lynn searched through Klizi’s desk, but found nothing else of note. He was only a viscount which made it more difficult to get access to important information. Lynn got up from the chair and confirmed that there was nothing else valuable in the study. After he finished, he brought the half beasts out of the castle. Some of the courageous civilians had already walked out to the street and looked at Lynn.

“Starting today,” Lynn addressed them in a shout, “this is no longer Kumori, but the territory of Lynn! The town will now be renamed to Grape Town! Everyone will work for me and continue to make wine from this day forward.”

The civilains seemed to understand what Lynn was saying as many of them knelt before him.

“Who knows about the vineyard and winemaking? Tell me about it.” Lynn demanded

“Master Lynn, I know,” said a gray haired old man.

“What is your name?”

“I am known as Lanno.”

“Lanno, what did you do for Kumori?”

“I am in charge of the management of the vineyard. Every year I lead someone to plant grapes, but I do not know how to make the wine, Master Lynn. None of us do,” replied Lanno nervously.

Lynn just stated that he wanted to make wine, and all of the people who had the knowledge to do so were the dead members of the Kumori family. The remaining people did not know the process as they only grew the grapes.

“It is not a problem as I can make the wine. Take me to the vineyard and the wine cellar,” Lynn said.

Lanno glanced at Lynn in surprise and began to panic.

“Lynn En, sir. Please forgive me. It was because I did not know. I did not mean to question your wisdom.”

Lynn waved his hand as he did not even care about it and had the man lead the way. He followed Lanno and walked along the road of Grape Town to the edge of the territory. There were plentiful grape racks here that spread so far out that Lynn could not see them all. He was a little surprised.

“How many acres are there?”

“Two hundred acres,” Lanno replied with respect.

“How many grapes can you produce per acre?”

“About three thousand pounds.”

Lynn made a rough calculation that Grape Town could produce six hundred thousand pounds of grapes every year. If the process would be done normally, at least four hundred thousand pounds pounds of wine could be produced. Also, based on the quality of this place’s grapes the price of the wine should also be higher than what Lynn sold before. Even with the price of one silver per pound of wine that Lynn used previously, he would earn at least four thousand gold coins every year. This was quite a feat.

Theresa’s annual income was only forty five hundred gold coins with all of the territory she owned and the taxes she acquired from the subordinate nobles. The Kumori family had the potential to make so much money in a year that it was shocking! It was no wonder that their castle was more luxurious than Ino’s, along with the fact that they could raise so many troops for the war.

According to the letter, Klizi had raised more than one thousand fighters, and they were all well equipped. This was all thanks to the large amount of income they gained. Moreover, they had spent so much money and there were still three thousand gold coins left over. The profit from wine production was simply incredible.

Starting today, the wine business in this town was now Lynn’s! Naturally, Lynn also wanted to obtain his own vineyard, but it was too much trouble to do by himself. Normal grapes would not bear any fruit in their first year, so at the very least it would not be until the next year that his vineyard would be able to be harvested. Grape vines had to grow three to five years before their yield would increase, making for a slow process.

Yet, right now it was alright. There were two hundred acres of readily made vineyards in Grape, and the vines were already at their best! Lynn would directly take over the process and wait until the next year to start brewing the wine. An annual income of at least four thousand gold coins was equal to nothing to what Lynn would make!

“Is there a caravan that had a fixed trade agreement before with Grape?” Lynn asked Lanno. “What was the price for the trade?”

“There is a fixed agreement,” Lanno said while nodding repeatedly. “Ordinary wine would be a little more than one silver coin, while the good quality ones would be three.”

Lynn was a little suprised. The grapes here were of better quality than his, which theoretically should allow for the wine to be sold at a higher price. However, the selling price was the same as Lynn’s. When he thought about it carefully, however, the output was large and Grape would not be responsible for transportation. This would mean that the price would be lowered to pay for the transportation fees.

“All transactions are in accordance with the previous rules. There are no changes, and you will be responsible for contacting the caravan,” Lynn stated.

“I will follow your orders,” agreed Lanno.

Lynn had already seen the vineyard and asked Lanno to take him to the cellar for a quick look. Originally, Lynn expected to have a large number of already brewed wines that could be sold, but his expectations were betrayed. The Kumori family must have sold all of the stored wine for the war, but to Lynn’s satisfaction there was one thousand kilograms of fine wine that Klizi had not been willing to sell.

This kind of wine could be sold for five silver coins per pound, which meant that Lynn had basically picked up fifty gold coins with absolutely no effort. After counting his bountiful harvest, Lynn felt satisfied. He had earned too much this time!
