Chapter 388: The End of Fate's Staircase
```
[Pure White Holy Eyes]
Those eyes, An Su would never mistake them.
The Pure White Eyes are the root-level pupils connected to 'the world', the dazzling pupils without a hint of impurity, as transparent as the world's most perfect ice crystal, folding sunlight into layers of radiant light, the whole world clearly visible within those white irises.
The key point is...
Those pupils are pure white without blemish, at first glance, untainted by any 'romantic' stench.
As pure as ice.
So An Su absolutely wouldn't mistake them, these must be the Pure White Holy Eyes.
If the Azure Magic Eyes are the embodiment of life, then the Pure White Holy Eyes are the essence of Magic itself!
But if it were just the Pure White Eyes, An Su would not be so astonished, let alone shocked.
Even before stepping into the Chaotic Council, An Su had speculated about the various outcomes at the end of the stairs, but the scene he finally beheld still far exceeded his expectations.
Because he saw corpses.
Corpses spread out before him on the steps.
The corpses of Demigods.
Five bodies, intact despite their disarray, piled up on both sides of the stairs, their pupils' light gradually fading, but despite the passing of their souls, the [presence] left by their remains was still deeply imprinted upon the world, contaminated and overwhelmed by filth and catastrophe, the oppressive air of Demigod remains.
The entire Radiant Heaven was desecrated by that blood and those corpses!
An icy coldness, thoroughly engulfing An Su's spirit.
It spread to every corner of his body.
Each corpse was wrapped in a scarlet robe, indicating the identity of these Demigods—known in later times as 'Cardinals', but in the Era of Chaos, every single corpse here, was a member of the Chaotic Council!
Councilors at the pinnacle of the Chaotic Ladder!
Pain, life, human body, mutation, chaos... Apart from the neutral Celestial Bishop and the Shadow Bishop who never appeared, the five Councilors who actually controlled the Chaotic Council, were all killed.
No wonder Avad was close to annihilation and the Chaotic Council still did not make a move, turns out they were all wiped out!
Chaotic Councilors are protected by Chaos Law, who could defy the law and kill five Demigods?
The remains of Demigods piled upon Fate's Staircase, impure blood freely splattered amid the Radiance, yet amongst all corpses and pollution, only those peak Pure White Eyes remained impeccably clean, without the slightest impurity.
Is this the power of the original heir to the throne...
'Merlin Andrei'?
Only a God of Law could possess such pure eyes. Only the most powerful Demigod could achieve the terrifying feat of going 1v5.
An Su looked up at the figure at the top of the staircase, His Highness whose face he also could not see, clothed in a long robe of deep purple that trailed down the steps like strands of light, and hair as fine as light threads fluttering in the wind.
He gazed down slightly, looking over the scenery beneath the stairs, looking over what had become the 'graveyard' of Avad, with starlight and sunlight reflecting and rotating in those pure white pupils.
Occasionally a look of compassion would emerge from the depths of those eyes, perhaps just an illusion.
[Faceless One]!
An Su could not discern Their face, or perhaps They... had no face.
They had no visage—replaced instead by the spiral of pure white Radiance, twisted and covering like a mask, holy and immaculately white.
Merlin Andrei also had no face. He claimed to An Su that it was cooler this way, more mysterious, like a reclusive powerhouse.
—Is that really the only reason?
The figure before him, although not entirely different from Merlin, could be considered identical.
Likewise without a face, the same Pure White Eyes, the same being composed entirely of the most pure white Radiance, without a real body, just standing there as if... the entire world rested before itself.
But An Su, with sharp eyes, instantly noticed the difference.
The person before him had hair, Merlin did not.
So, this was Merlin Andre. from 30,000 years ago... but the timeline doesn't match.
An Su frowned slightly, all the past records of the God of Law were documented; Merlin was a contemporary saint of Bishop Morgan, entered the Radiant Holy See a hundred years ago, would be just over a hundred years old at most... Could it be, the Church's records are forged?
Had Merlin been working an extra 30,000 years?
And was once a 30,000-year-old Little Virgin?
That would be far too pitiful.
An Su frowned, his soul trembling slightly, his spirit constantly reminding him of a detail he had forgotten, a foreshadowing he had long overlooked.
Just as An Su was about to think it over carefully, in the next instant, a mutation suddenly occurred.
The Faceless One withdrew Their gaze, perhaps aware of An Su's arrival, They turned Their head towards An Su, ripples of gentle smiling light emerged, and those Pure White Eyes remained pure and flawless, as They gently raised Their hand towards An Su, smiling and saying:
"Radiance."
They smiled, the Pure White Eyes interpreting the entire world, all light reflected in those eyes, the whole world echoing clearly with Their low chanting,
"Judgement."
[Radiant Judgment]
An Su would not mistake it, this was the genuine Light of Judgment—no one in Nether understood the original work better than him, whether it was the grand Radiance descending from the sky, or the Guardian Angels changing sides, and the hymns echoing in his ears, all clearly unveiled the truth.
He had never imagined that he would see the true Light of Judgment in the Chaotic Church Nation 30,000 years ago.
