The Messenger of Death

Kymani vomited another mouth full of blood. She raised her head and looked at Xander, but as soon as their eyes met, she almost vomited another mouth full of blood. She quickly looked elsewhere, avoiding Xander's terrifying gaze.

'I have been played by this child.' Kymani thought with grief.

"No, you haven't been played by me. I wasn't planning on letting you go through this before, but I had to clear a misunderstanding. Even if the contract is in place, I wanted the two of you to know that I will not place my trust in the hands of criminals." Xander explained his reason for doing this.

'Can he read my mind? Is that one of the conditions written on the contract?' Kymani wondered.

"No, I also can't read your mind. I can tell what you're thinking just by looking at your face." Xander said.

Scar who hadn't even had the chance to reconsider his decision about the contract started to regret his decision. 'Did I sell my life in exchange for 10 blue HD-ECs?' He wondered dejectedly.

Many of the prisoners had been watching what was happening, some had even been eavesdropping on the conversation that Xander and Scar were having, which is one of the reasons why Xander did what he did. He knew that if he didn't show something that could discourage people from coming to strike a deal with him, the rest will attempt to convince him to make a deal with them too.

To avoid all of that, Xander decided to show them what it meant to strike a deal with him.

['Damn! It skipped my mind that you are almost as brutal as Lex… no offense Lex.'] Alex commented.

['None taken.']

['Brutal or not, this should stop people from coming to meet me for something like this again.'] Xander mentioned.

"If you both would excuse me, I am going to take a nap." Xander stood up from where he was seated and made his way towards a cabin. As he walked, those that were in his way quickly made way for him and kept their distance from the devil-like kid…

['Using runes does suck away your blood QI and life force. I feel like I will collapse if I don't take a nap.'] Xander mentioned.

['Was it that strenuous?'] Lex questioned.

['More than you can imagine.']

['Are you going to take a nap? I know that you feel drained after inscribing, but is it necessary?'] Alex asked.

['Yes, have you forgotten the side effect of the healing pills that Nana handed to us?'] Xander replied.

['Oh, that's right, I forgot that it makes you sleep. You ate 3 healing pills… it is understandable that you want to sleep.'] Alex stated.

Xander found a bed and laid on it, closing his eyes and going to sleep as soon as he fell on it.

Argus watched as Xander signed a contract with Scar, he frowned upon the act because to him it was no different from helping a criminal. He was a bit disappointed in Xander. "This kid is too kind." He uttered.

After scar had signed the contract by dropping his blood on the runes, Argus heard Xander giving them a warning and he couldn't understand what the warning was for until Xander inscribed another set of runes and he saw the effects that it had on Kymani and Scar.

"This Alexander is more sinister than I imagined," Argus said with a frown. "I should stop judging this boy by normal standards. He is training under a madwoman, so he is likely to act like a mad man too." Argus muttered to himself.

He didn't know how to rate or make reasoning for the actions that Xander has been taking since he began watching over him. Argus had come to many conclusions about Xander that he had to erase and start again. He then watched as Xander left the deck and went to a cabin.

"At least he's still human and still needs sleep," Argus uttered confidently, as it was the one thing that he was certain of, Alexander being human.

While Xander had gone to sleep, Scar and Kymani healed themselves first before doing anything else. The two of them felt depressed and didn't know what would happen to them in the future. They stood next to each other, on the spot where they had vomited blood.

"Forget it, the deed has already been done. If he chooses to kill us after getting to the island there would be nothing that we can do. No point in crying over spilled milk." Kymani shook her head and tried to rid herself of the depression.

Scar sighed and looked at the energy crystals in his hands. "I am going to absorb the crystals now. I hope that I would be able to break through before we come across another monster." He said and left for a free cabin on the ship.

Kymani watched as he retreated, knowing that she wasn't completely at fault as Scar was the one that insisted that he wanted to make a deal with Xander. A killer like Kymani wouldn't feel like this normally, she had pride in the things she had done, both evil or good, but at the moment she was feeling a bit at fault.

And this is because, despite the way she looked, Kymani has a sense of camaraderie in her for some of the prisoners, and Scar was included in this camaraderie of hers.

Kymani smiled after a while and looked at some of her girls. "Who wants to drink with me and maybe fuck later on after I'm drunk?" She said to her girls. "I don't feel like thinking properly at the moment." She mentioned after bringing out a barrel of the healing wine that she got from Xander.

She placed a cup in the barrel and fetched a cup full of the wine. Kymani stared at the cup for a while before dropping it to the ground gently. She then raised the barrel to her mouth and tilted it a bit, pouring the contents of the barrel in her mouth and subsequently on her body too.

Some of her subordinates came to her side and dragged her off to the cabin. The rest of the prisoners were tasked with clearing the way for the ships. They destroyed blocks of ice that could potentially put a hole or a dent on the ship. They also made sure to travel slowly until Kymani or Scar came out of their cabins, scared that they might encounter monsters that will cause another trouble for them.

A whole day passed in the blink of an eye and nothing noteworthy had happened while they were sailing. No new monster emerged from the sea, it was as if the seas horses were the owners of this side of the sea, and since they had killed so many of them, the prisoners assumed that they had wiped out every sea horse that was on this side of the sea.

Kymani emerged from her cabin half-naked, she had her trousers on, but nothing on her upper body. She woke up with a hangover and felt like shit at the moment. Kymani was well aware that there were men on her ship, but she just didn't care at the moment.

She made her way to the deck of the ship confidently and let the sea breeze blow on her naked upper body. As she breathed in and out, her chiseled abdominal muscles contracted a bit, and her bare chest heaved and fell, giving her whole being a weird attractiveness to it that caught the eyes of many men present.

"You can look but nothing else," She mentioned in a hoarse voice as she raised a hand to comb through her red hair.

And just like she had said, the men could only look at Kymani's unique, attractive body, but they couldn't do anything, nor will they dare to. Out of sexual frustration, some of them sat down and started to meditate, trying to resist the temptation that they were experiencing.

While they were meditating, Xander also came out of his cabin and made his way to the deck of the ship. When he arrived, his eyes fell on Kymani's bareback.

['Why is she naked in front of so many males in broad daylight?'] Alex asked.

['It's called a sunbathing rabbit.'] Al responded.

['I know what sunbathing is Al, my question is why she's half-naked in front of so many people!?']

['Who knows, it is her body. She's a liberated woman and can do as she pleases.'] Al chuckled at his own reply.

Xander only gave her back a cold stare before looking at the sea. Kymani also sensed Xander the moment he arrived on the deck, but she was too embarrassed to look at him. Not because she was topless, but because of what happened yesterday.

She couldn't find the courage to face him at the moment. Kymani retrieved an armless shirt from her ring and put it on…
