The Messenger of Death

Chapter 312: the immortal body

The news that Alex had been taken to the Forest of prisoners spread around the school and even beyond. The Mayor and The Prime Minister heard of it. And when they heard of the reason why he was thrown in there, their nostrils flared with fury. Well aware that the Kawataro family must have done something to anger Alex.

Or so they thought.

Camron's family also got to hear the news and they weren't pleased with it. Lady Ivy worried for Alex like he was a child of hers…

Back at the Academy. In one of the abandoned lab in the underground bunker, that the Seraphim team have been using as a training room.

The members of the Seraphim team trained with a heavy expression on their faces, all except Gustavo. He out of all of them is well aware that Alex wouldn't get killed, based on what he knows about Nana.

Alex's teammates couldn't help but worry for him. "It's just a forest filled with prisoners right? Never mind that The Principal did say that nothing life-threatening would happen to Alex." Camron blurted out.

He had been having frantic thoughts and had been restless since he heard of the punishment that Alex was given.

"It's not just a forest of prisoners, it's a forest filled with vile, ruthless, and dangerous cultivators. Evil people that had committed crimes, ravaging and plaguing the Eastern Continent as they pleased.

They have done so much evil that the majority believed death to be a form of mercy to them. So the academy decided to throw them in a place where they either killed themselves, get killed by the powerful monsters, or get done in by the harsh living conditions of the forest.

From what I've heard, only Sky realm cultivators and above were thrown in there, even the monsters there have the power to battle Sky realm cultivators on equal footing. And there's a record of over 2000 prisoners in there." Gustavo finished.

-Gasp!!!

Drake gasped and pinched his lips. He couldn't imagine what it would mean for a Nirvana realm cultivator to stay, even if it was just for a month.

They now understood that Alex, currently, is the weakest person in the Forest of prisoners.

"That's not fair! How could they do this to him?" Emma cried out, she was starting to get emotional.

"He chose to go to the forest on his own. I just wish I knew why though." Adrian reminded.

"I don't think any of you should worry much… with Nana as his master, I doubt if anything life-threatening will happen to him, with or without assistance from the Headmaster." Gustavo started hesitantly. He began wondering if he could come out clean to the rest of the team.

"How do you know that?" Katherine asked and gave him a questionable look, which caused Gustavo to sigh.

"If you knew a little of what I know about Nana's origin, you wouldn't even attempt calling her 'The Witch Of West'... you'd rather piss your pants, over, and over again." He shook his head at the end of his sentence.

"And what exactly do you know about her origins?" Adrian asked, his curiosity was poking at him.

Gustavo remained silent, not sure if he should tell them about Nana being from the Celestial Plain Realm. 'If I tell them about her origins, I will have to tell them about mine too.' He thought with a frown on his face.

"The folds on your forehead tell me that you're conflicted," Katherine uttered, snapping Gustavo out of his thoughts.

"That's it! How could I have forgotten!?" Camron who had been partially listening to Gustavo and the rest of his teammates had a sudden outburst.

He slapped his forehead a few times before sighing in relief.

Everyone else looked at him as if he had started to lose it.

"Uhh, Cam… Is everything okay?" Drake probed.

"Yes, everything's alright, what could possibly go wrong!?" A smile appeared on his face as he replied. The gloomy aura of his was immediately replaced with a jovial one.

Drake looked at the rest of his teammates. 'Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking?' He thought to himself.

Adrian and Emma seemed to understand what his look entailed, by they didn't entertain it enough to give him any kind of reply.

Gustavo only shrugged his shoulders in response to Drake's look.

Only Katherine gave him a reply that he was looking for. She used her eyes to reply. 'We definitely thinking about the same thing.' She thought.

Katherine then mouthed at Drake, moving her lips without making any sound. 'He's definitely starting to lose his marbles. Say something to him.'

Drake looked at the smiling Camron who apparently was in a daze, before returning his gaze to Katherine and mouthed back at her. 'What the hell do you want me to do at this point? I am I not a psychologist.'

Katherine raised a fist and threatened to punch Drake. 'Do something or I'll make sure you visit a psychologist pretty soon.'

"Fine!" He unintentionally uttered it out loud. However, it's not like the rest didn't understand the conversation that they were having, they just didn't say anything. Only Camron was unaware of their actions.

"Cam, why don't you retire for the night and have a good rest. The past 24 hours haven't been kind to you." Drake urged, speaking to Camron gently.

His attitude made Camron chuckle as he could guess what was going through his friend's mind. "No, I'm perfectly fine. I just realized that nothing bad will happen to Alex. He's royalty, I forgot that he has a strong expert protecting him from the shadows." He revealed happily and started laughing.

"Really!?" Emma blurted out before she too join Camron on the laughter train.

"That explains why he chose to go the forest. I guess we've gotten so close that we ignore our social status and standings." Adrian sighed, feeling relief wash over him.

"Ha, that's better. For a second there I actually thought you were starting to go loco. Katherine even suggested that I-" Drake started but was interrupted.

-Pat!

Katherine slapped the back of Drake's head. "When did I suggest anything to you?" She said feign ignorance.

"Aiish!! This stupid bitch might make me a retard one day with how much she hits the back of my head." Drake swore at her.

"Say what now?" Katherine her fist once again.

"Nothing, nothing." Drake quickly said while putting distance between him and the aggressive woman beside him.

"I thought so." She sneered at him.

"Let's get back to training," Camron said.

"Huh!! Again?!" Drake cried out. "You special people don't get tired of training, do you? I, Katherine, and Gustavo are normal cultivators, you go easy on us." He complained.

"Thanks for calling normal, you earthworm." Katherine insulted.

"What? But it's the truth!"

"Hahaha," Gustavo laughed. "Don't lump me with you, Drake. I'm also sort of special."

"Huh? You? Lazy, know-it-all stalker Gus? Nah, bro, you're more of weird than special." Drake responded.

'Just tell them about it, one way or another we are already on the same bandwagon, if I don't tell them now, I don't know when else I'll be able to. I trust them enough to tell them this.' Gustavo thought, convincing himself to spill the beans.

"Not that part of me, I'm talking about this part of me." Seconds after Gustavo responded, His skin started to transform.

This ability look similar to that of Saram, the monk that had participated in destroying the Capital City. They encountered him on their last mission.

But Gustavo's own was different, Saram turned into a Silver skinned man, and Gustavo, currently, looked like a person made out of pure steel.

"This is what I was referring to." His voice echoed with a metallic tune.

Drake took a few steps back and said; " W-when d-did you learn that crazy Monk's skill?!"

"Don't compare me to that second-grade monk. He only achieved what he could do by refining his blood with his weapon. My ability is an innate one, unique to my clans' people. It is known as the Immortal Body." He revealed, a little offended by Drake's compliment.

"Oh, sorry." Drake apologized as he stealthily made his way behind Katherine, trying to hide behind her.

"Wow," Emma exclaimed. "Can I touch your arm?" She asked as she went closer to Gustavo.

He replied with a nod.

Placing her hand on his, Emma could tell that this transformation extend to his bones.

"Why is it called the Immortal body?" Adrian asked. "And why haven't we heard anything about a clan that is capable of this on the Eastern Continent?" Being the curious type, he couldn't help but ask these questions.

However, Gustavo was expecting questions like and he was ready to answer them truthfully. "It is called the Immortal Body because, at the peak of this ability, our bodies will forever remain undamaged. Even after death.

At its peak, there are few beings that can harm us. Few that could make us feel threatened, but..." He paused and let out a heavy sigh.

His expression changed, alternating from anger to agony before turning neutral…
