Chapter 84: 84 chapters "Technician" Chen Jiuge
"Innate Divine Ability indeed, these little fellows are fortunate," Da Bai, hidden in the air, sighed.
First, I should inform that old geezer and have him take care of it, Da Bai pondered, deciding to notify the Sect Master. This was a significant event beneficial to all Divine Beast cubs within the Sect, and he chose to stay out of it himself.
Chen Jiuge was unaware that his little actions had been discovered. Instead, he was excitedly accepting the gifts brought back by the young cubs, allowing them to enjoy a "spa."
However, it was strange. While extraction wasn't painful for other Spiritual Beasts, it wasn't particularly comfortable either—could this be the unique feature of Divine Beasts? But none of that mattered; what was important was that I've struck it rich! The items brought back by these Divine Beast cubs are generally only enjoyed by Immortals, and I, a mere Divinity Transformation cultivator, am now in possession of them. It's simply fantastic!
More and more Divine Beast cubs learned about Chen Jiuge, the miraculous Cultivator.
As the Sect Master of the Myriad Beasts Sect, Jun Linseng would typically be in seclusion, playfully teasing his Spiritual Beasts, or brewing tea. It was just that recently, his Little Bai Ze had been missing for a while and was probably out frolicking in the wild again.
Should I sweep the area with my Divine Sense? But would that befit my status as Sect Master? Jun Linseng wondered, somewhat conflicted.
"Old geezer, are you there?" Da Bai's voice was very scholarly, even if his words were rather coarse.
Seeing Da Bai appear opposite him at the stone table, Jun Linseng said, somewhat helplessly, "Zhi Duoxing, although you're my Guardian Beast, I'm the Sect Master now. Can you show a little respect?"
Zhi Duoxing, also known as Da Bai, looked down scornfully. "Who here doesn't know the other? Back when you peeked at the other Sect's Holy Daughter taking a bath, it was I who covered for you. Otherwise, you wouldn't be Sect Master now; you'd have been beaten to death long ago."
"AHEM. AHEM. Let's not discuss that. Let's not discuss that. You can call me whatever you want," Jun Linseng said, somewhat embarrassed, using his tea drinking as a cover.
"I've come to you this time with a great discovery," Da Bai said, winking suggestively.
"What discovery?" Jun Linseng grew curious. Ever since he became Sect Master, Zhi Duoxing's visits had been few and far between. He was usually traveling with his wife, only recently returning due to the birth of Little Bai Ze.
As Zhi Duoxing relayed his discovery to Jun Linseng, Chen Jiuge's area became increasingly lively.
The items these Divine Beast cubs brought wouldn't be considered precious by their parents, but they were still beyond the reach of ordinary Cultivators.
Although Divine Beasts were generally known for raising their children in a free-range manner, there were exceptions. For instance, the burly Zhu Li had arrived with his young Zhu Yan, and the stout woman Dang Xiang had accompanied her young Dang Kang.
"Kid, so it was you who tricked my little monkey?" Zhu Li, his eyes as large as copper bells, stared fiercely at Chen Jiuge. His imposing aura made it difficult for Chen Jiuge to breathe.
Dang Xiang chuckled lightly, dissipating the oppressive force for Chen Jiuge. Then, she said disdainfully, "Old monkey, are you stupid? Didn't you even check your little monkey's condition before storming in here to assign blame?"
"Fat pig, what are you talking about?" Zhu Li, the Zhu Yan, retorted angrily.
As a Fierce Beast, a Zhu Yan's temper was highly volatile, completely opposite to that of an Auspicious Beast like a Dang Kang.
"Dead monkey, looking for a fight?" Dang Xiang challenged, hands on her hips.
The gunpowder-like tension in the air intensified. The rising pressure of their auras alarmed Wen Ruo and Bai Yao, who were in a side hall of the palace.
With the arrival of these two, and considering this was Bai Yao's palace, the two beasts didn't dare to fight directly.
The little Zhu Yan, quite unhappy, started pummeling Zhu Li. Seeing his angry child, Zhu Li had no choice but to swallow his anger. "Alright, alright, I get it! Just don't tell your mother."
"Oh, don't worry, I'll definitely tell her," Dang Xiang interjected, twisting the knife.
Among the Divine Beasts in the back mountains, everyone knew Zhu Li was thoroughly henpecked. His wife, the mother monkey, had a temper like a volcano, erupting from time to time. Crucially, she was even stronger than Zhu Li and would beat him up regularly to vent her frustrations.
"You—!" Zhu Li felt a surge of anger, but then, as if recalling something, his indignation seemed to deflate, and he lost interest.
He then checked the little monkey's internal condition. As long as there are no issues, it's fine, he thought.
He wouldn't have known without checking, but one look gave him a shock—the bloodline was purer! Although not by much, it was indeed purer!
Still skeptical, he meticulously checked over and over again. I'm doomed, Zhu Li thought. If Dang Xiang, that damn fatso, tells my wife about this, I'm going to be beaten half to death!
Looking at Chen Jiuge, who stood stiffly, afraid to move, an incongruous and somewhat fawning smile appeared on Zhu Li's fierce face. "This young disciple—no, little brother! What happened earlier was my fault. I hope you won't hold it against me. Please take this Immortal Origin as my apology."
As the Immortal Origin was forcefully pressed into his hand, Chen Jiuge gasped. Good heavens! Even if he realized he was wrong, isn't this a bit too generous?
Immortal Origin was a type of Spirit Stone, but unlike ordinary ones, it was a supercharged energy source condensed from a world where the "Dao" had perished. It could not only accelerate a Cultivator's cultivation but also deepen their comprehension of Laws, making it arguably the best cultivation resource available.
"Just take it," Dang Xiang prompted. That monkey is only giving it to you because he's afraid of getting beaten when he gets home. No need to be polite, she seemed to imply.
Steeling himself, Chen Jiuge activated his Golden Finger under the watchful eyes of at least two Heavenly Immortal-level Divine Beasts. He was genuinely terrified.
After Dang Xiang watched the entire process, she suddenly remarked, "I didn't expect another disciple to awaken this Divine Skill."
"Indeed," Zhu Li (the Zhu Yan) added, his large face etched with a complex expression. "I just don't know if he can survive the Immortal Ascension Tribulation."
Chen Jiuge didn't understand what the two Divine Beasts meant. Have they seen through my Golden Finger? he worried.
After the two Divine Beasts left, more Divine Beasts arrived at Bai Yao's palace, each leading their young cubs.
The adult Divine Beasts were far more lavish with their offerings than the cubs, who had sneakily brought items without knowing their true value.
His routine became: collect resources, then give the Divine Beast cubs a Golden Finger "spa."
Chen Jiuge increasingly felt like a "technician." This feeling was especially strong when the adult Divine Beasts, before departing with their cubs, would look at him with expressions of pity. These looks were eerily similar to the longing gazes he himself had once directed at unobtainable figures after a foot bath in his previous life. It's all so incredibly surreal, he thought.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but eventually, all the young Divine Beasts in the main hall were gone. The resources Chen Jiuge had received now formed a small mountain.
Looking at the two senior martial sisters who had been busy helping him, Chen Jiuge magnanimously pointed at the small mountain gleaming with an infinite, precious light. "Senior Sisters, thank you for your help. Please, take whatever you need."
Seeing the two shake their heads, Chen Jiuge continued, "Senior Sisters, you both worked hard too. One should be compensated for their labor. Otherwise, if word of this gets out, people might think I, your Junior Brother, am a stingy person. Who would dare to accompany me on travels in the future then?"
Seeing Chen Jiuge's earnest expression, the two women stepped forward and selected a couple of items useful for their own cultivation. They adamantly refused to take anything more, much to Chen Jiuge's exasperated helplessness.
Storing away resources that ordinary Cultivators might never see in their entire lifetimes, Chen Jiuge felt a thrill. I think I'm finally about to take off!
