Chapter 18: Chapter 17
The punishment begins...
Elsa and Anna stood at the end of the bed, avoiding each other gazes.
"The punishment will be... two of you will sing for me."
"..."
Then, Elsa and Anna stared at him for a long time with question marks on their heads.
"But we don't know what to sing..."
Elsa said.
However, Anna shifted her gaze at her and said, "We should sing that song, Elsa."
"But we didn't..."
Elsa said with embarrassment.
"We can do it..."
Then Anna started, "Do you want to build a snowman? Come on, let's go and play."
"Let's build a snowman, give him boots!
A scarf and a carrot nose are cute!
Let's skate and sing and twirl around,
Until we both fall on the ground!"
Elsa followed.
"We'll always be together,
Through sunshine, snow, or rain…
Even when you're quiet,
I know you feel the same."
Then, they started to sing together.
"So let's go build a snowman,
And laugh the day away.
Sisters side by side forever—
Come on, let's go and play."
Then, they hug each other.
...
After finishing their song, El gasped in surprise.
'I never imagined they could sing at a young age.'
"Wow."
"Hmph, brother, how could you do this?"
Anna was the first to break the silence.
Then, Elsa also glares at him with an unfriendly expression.
However, she didn't say anything and arrogantly turned her head to the side.
"Hahaha."
Seeing the different reactions of the two of them, El laughed happily.
It was quite fun to tease the little girls every now and then. By the way, Anna could now naturally call him "brother."
Hearing El's laughter and smug expression, the two little girls gritted their teeth in frustration.
They exchanged a glance, and it seemed like they had silently made up their minds about something.
Suddenly, Elsa and Anna simultaneously lifted the blanket from the bed and slapped it right onto El's face.
Even though El was lost in thought, his muscle memory kicked in. When he saw something flying toward him, El instinctively tried to dodge it.
However, the blanket was too big, and half of his face was harshly smacked by the blanket, falling to the bed.
"Hahaha, yay!"
On the bed, Anna and Elsa burst into laughter, high-fiving each other. Then, they both turned to look at the defeated El, laughing joyfully.
After all these events, the relationship between the two little girls had actually become even better.
Their friendship had grown through their song.
"You two! Tsk—"
El put the blanket back on the bed, his face showing signs of discomfort, and he was unable to even smile.
Seeing that Elsa and Anna's relationship had improved, El couldn't help but feel happy inside.
"Alright... I believe you. You just wanted to play with me, right? Here, I'm ready."
El had somehow walked over to the table without them noticing, opened the bottom drawer, and pulled out a thick stack of cards.
They seemed to be made of ice crystals because Elsa could sense a familiar cold magic emanating from them.
"What is this?"
Elsa looked puzzled at El walking over with the card.
On the other hand, as soon as Anna saw the cards, she immediately exclaimed, "Is this... a deck of playing cards? Oh, yes, yes! Let's play with these first!"
Seeing Anna so eager, Elsa was filled with confusion. She really didn't understand what kind of game the exquisite card in El's hand could be used for.
Hearing Anna eagerly urge him to explain the rules of the card to Elsa, El wasn't in a hurry at all.
He appeared relaxed and even asked Anna, "Did you forget what day it is today?"
"What?"
Anna was a bit stunned by the question and didn't immediately react.
"I'm asking you, what day is it today?"
El asked again.
"What day? There's no special day today, is there?"
Anna still didn't know what day it was.
"It's Sunday!"
El said, noticing Anna still didn't get it, and kindly reminded her.
"Sunday? What's Sunday… oh!"
Anna was still a bit confused, but then she finally remembered.
This is the day for magic.
After getting excited again, Anna asked with some doubt.
"Are you ready?"
When he heard Anna's question, El just smiled and said nothing.
What more preparation was needed? In his past life, he had learned a lot about playing cards.
If he wanted to do something cool, he could easily do a little magic trick on the spot.
"Do you know? I always knew that El is the best, he is the most coolest, I like him the most."
Anna's eyes sparkled with stars as soon as he smiled, and she showered him with compliments.
Meanwhile, Elsa, standing to the side, looked completely puzzled, not knowing what they were talking about.
She had thought the earlier conversation was about preparations for magic, but the last words left her unsure how to judge it.
She also didn't understand when Anna's relationship with El had become so close.
"Alright, come on. We're getting ready to perform the magic trick."
He prepared to start the performance.
"Magic trick? What's that? Isn't it supposed to be magic?"
Elsa thought in confusion.
"Okay, I need someone to help me pick a card. How about you, Elsa? This is your first time seeing my magic trick~"
El smiled at Elsa while holding the special deck of cards.
"Huh? Me?"
Elsa was a little confused and didn't know what to do.
"Elsa, it's okay. Go ahead, El will tell you what to do."
Anna, who couldn't watch any longer, pushed her forward.
"Oh, then what do I need to do?"
Elsa felt better after hearing Anna. She just needed to do what he said, which would be easy. She was worried she might cause trouble for him.
"It's okay. Can you check if there's anything wrong with this deck of cards?"
He smiled and handed the deck to Elsa.
"Ah! It should be fine, but... how do I check it?"
Elsa took the deck he handed her, and the moment she touched it, she was shocked.
The cards were in such perfect condition, and the magic wasn't leaking out. Moreover, the cold temperature was even gone.
He sensed Elsa's surprise and simply smiled lightly. After all, this show-off behavior was just too satisfying.
It was totally worth all the practice he did when he was younger, learning low-level magic to control ice.
"Is there a problem? I mean, did El leave any marks on this deck of cards or do something to them?"
Anna kindly reminded her from the side. She noticed the look Elsa was giving him seemed a bit off and quickly interrupted.
"Oh, oh, let me take a look. Hmm... it really seems fine."
After hearing this, Elsa refocused her attention on the deck of cards.
This time, she carefully felt each card, and the magic on every card was exactly the same.
"Huh! This is..."
Elsa suddenly noticed something as she looked at one card.
"Mm, pretty cool, right? He did it. It's amazing."
Anna thought Elsa had noticed something and quickly leaned in to see. But when she looked closer, she realized it was just the card she had been holding.
She thought something big had happened.
Then she began to explain it to Elsa. While listening to Anna, Elsa secretly glanced at El.
"Alright, I've checked. There's really nothing wrong. Here you go."
After Elsa finished her final check and confirmed there was no problem, she handed the cards back to him.
"Watch closely!"
After taking the deck of cards, El shuffled them, mixed them up, and let them pick a card.
"Okay, this time, it's your turn, Anna. You pick a card from here, don't tell me what it is, and then put it back."
El said to Anna, showing her the back of the cards and turning his head away.
"Okay!"
Anna heard this and picked a card. By coincidence, Anna picked the same card that Elsa had seen earlier.
However, the two of them quietly put the card back without showing any reaction.
"Alright!"
"Oh, so now I don't know which card you two picked, right?"
"Yes."
"Well... now I'm going to use magic to find the card you just picked. You both need to watch closely."
"Mm."
The two girls responded.
"Is this the card you two just drew?"
He asked as he flipped through the whole deck. After looking at it, El found the card he was looking for—Elsa's card.
"Wow, amazing! I knew El was the best."
Anna said, already expecting this result.
Elsa, on the other hand, was completely confused and stared at El with big, puzzled eyes.
Logically, Elsa should have been able to feel the magic fluctuations, especially since they were so close.
