Chapter 28
Chapter 1: Do You Admit Your Guilt? I Admit You’re a Fool!
The day has finally come for me to transfer to the academy, after some time has passed since the exam day.
Basically, I had been living a lazy life at Thalagong’s house, but when Thalagong wasn’t around, I checked my second form.
However, there was something unsettling in the atmosphere, even though I wanted to say that there were no issues with my second form…
I stated that there was no problem with the Demon, but since I didn’t know the cause, I could only leave it be for now.
Well, while there are difficulties with fighting monsters, at least I can secure combat ability in the worst-case scenario, which is a relief.
For now, I think I’ll primarily focus on hunting Magical Girls rather than monsters… If there are many serious Magical Girls, then there won’t be a need to hunt them, but since the Demon will gather information, I’ll likely have my chances.
There were two problems I faced during these lazy days.
The first was that for various reasons, my sister… Thalagong would try to take me outside.
As someone who is more of an indoor type, I just wanted to laze around at home.
So, I tried to refuse once, saying “I don’t want to go,” but…
“Is that so? You don’t want to be with me, Inie…”
She looked like she was about to cry after saying that. Since I owed her for helping me, I forced my heart to be cold and went out with Thalagong several times.
‘Too weak, lol’
The Demon had mentioned something like that, but when we were alone, I enacted the tickling punishment.
On top of that, my wardrobe increased with a lot of clothes that I would probably never wear. Occasionally, Thalagong would glance at me, but she mostly wore a hooded tracksuit or a parka.
Honestly, when Thalagong is in her normal form, she has a dignified demeanor, which is somewhat damaging to my heart, but my sense of shame is more important.
The second problem was… Thalagong trying to barge in while I was in the bath. It would be fine if I were just a girl, but I’m a 26-year-old man inside.
I can’t handle being naked around a woman… although I’m interested.
In response to Thalagong trying to break in, I quickly transformed and froze the door with ice.
If it weren’t for the Demon’s advice at that time, who knows what would have happened…
Finally, I was free from that life. I had mentioned hating the academy, but it was probably better than living with Thalagong. In the dorms, I’d at least have a single room.
“Haruna, who are you talking to? Have you finally gone mad?”
(It’s another Fairy dwelling within me.)
Not that there’s anyone like that, but it seems I’ve grown a bit tired.
In any case, I finally arrived at the teleporter near the academy.
I made my way to the academy as inconspicuously as possible, but I couldn’t avoid drawing attention due to the rush hour.
I can use magic to make myself disappear, but it’s forbidden to use magic in public areas without a reason…
As I walked while ignoring the whispers, I finally spotted Prizes… the teacher.
To be honest, I don’t want to call her a teacher, but I’ve got to use the proper honorifics.
As a former working adult, it wouldn’t do to be inadequate… even though I don’t want to.
“Inie-san! This way, please!”
She’s still 28 years old, older than me… even though she doesn’t look any different from me.
“Thank you for waiting.”
“First, I’ll guide you to the dormitory. I’ve already taken your luggage from Thalagong, so please check it later. And you need to take off your hood, okay?”
Didn’t the person who screamed at me for taking off my hood say this? Well, I’ve obtained permission from the Demon, so I’ll just take it off.
“Eep… ahem. Then, please follow me.”
Are you going to scream again? Well, considering the gazes around us, let’s just move along quickly.
The dormitory can be accessed via a dedicated teleporter located inside the academy, and it’s next to the academy.
I thought it reasonable to just gather there, but it seems they gathered at the academy side for an explanation of the teleporter.
“Your room will be Room 105. Please have a quick look, and if there are no problems, I’ll guide you to the classroom.”
Prizes opened the door to Room 105 and checked inside.
The room is a 2DK, which is quite spacious considering I’ll be living alone.
There are also a dining hall and a large bath, but if I can manage in my room, I don’t need to go.
Living alone is the best.
“A booklet summarizing the dormitory rules is available in your room, so please read it later. Do you have any questions or issues?”
“I’m fine.”
“I see. Then, let’s head to the classroom, even though it’s a bit early.”
“Oh, oh! There are actually three Magical Girls that I know! This is going to be interesting!”
Three? The only ones I can think of that I know are at the North Kanto Branch, but Star Nail and Blue Colette should be attending regular middle schools…
Even if Marin is there, who else could it be?
(Can I be told the answer?)
“You’ll find out soon enough, so it’s a secret.”
Will I be able to survive today…?
As I was having that exchange, I found myself in front of the classroom.
At this point, I should mention that because I’m attending the academy as a Magical Girl, there’s no uniform. As for me, I’m in my usual white robe.
I’ve heard that some people dress up in non-combat outfits other than the Magical Girl’s combat attire, but I like this robe, so I’ll stick with it.
“Please wait in the hallway until you’re called~”
The sliding door opened smoothly without the rattling noise I used to hear at my old school, and Prizes entered the classroom.
“Good morning, everyone! Oh! Sweep! Didn’t I tell you not to eat breakfast in the classroom? Honoo and Akatsuki, stop fighting and sit down!”
I’m starting to feel incredibly uneasy… is this really going to be okay?
A few minutes passed, and finally, Prizes’s angry voice stopped.
“Uh, suddenly, we have a new student transferring today. Please come in!”
I don’t want to go in, but I steeled myself and opened the door. The Demon has been holding back laughter for a while now, but there’s no choice but to enter.
There were nine Magical Girl students in the classroom. I began checking from the end, searching for the three mentioned by the Demon. Ah, those are the two I mediated a fight between. And…
“Inny Flowering?”
So Marin really was here. She looks more haggard than when I last saw her; is she okay? I risked my life to save her once. She can’t get easily killed by monsters…
As I grumbled internally, a tackle from Marin sent me flying, my back hitting the board painfully.
“You’re alive, you’re alive…”
She cried when I met her back then, but I’m not used to being cried over by a woman. I can’t come up with any clever words. But well…
“I promised, right? I’m back, though I’m a bit late.”
I had promised to come back, after all.
By the way, could you stop crying already? The stares around are piercing. Also, it seems Marin is referred to as the class president here.
“Ah! For, for now, forget that! Got it!”
Just when I thought she had finally stopped crying, Marin threatened the other classmates. Isn’t she a bit emotionally unstable?
Can’t you, Prizes, do something about her crying already? I’m about to get angry too.
“Uh, this is Inny Flowering, who will be joining your ranks from today. Since she’s a newcomer, please treat her well. Sniffle.”
Thanks to Kaede’s scheme, I had to start over after climbing up to 18th place… Until my staff returns, it’ll be on hard mode, which means I’m starting completely weak in a new game.
Oh, right! I need to introduce myself. I feel like most people are looking down on me, but as an adult, I should greet properly.
“I’m Inny Flowering, pleased to meet you. You can just call me Inie. I’m 11 years old.”
…Huh? Isn’t there usually applause or something after that?
The Demon has been laughing the whole time and is completely useless, I’m so done with this…
“Uh, alright. Then your seat will be… h-hah! Please sit next to Marin.”
I can already see the hierarchy in this class. Is it really okay for a teacher to decide seats under the glare of students? I’m feeling uneasy about what’s ahead, but for now, I’ll just go with the flow.
“Since we have a new student, this morning we’ll be having joint training for monster subjugation, and those who received a failing grade on the recent test will be studying this afternoon. Everyone except Inie, please prepare in the simulator first. I’ll explain the flow of the lessons to Inie.”
Reluctantly, Marin kept glancing back at me while leaving the classroom. I don’t remember talking that much with Marin, so did I do something wrong?
Now, it’s just Prizes and me, and the explanation begins.
Since it’s a school for Magical Girls, the classes mostly revolve around monster subjugation and how to use magic.
It has a fantasy feel like an isekai. It makes sense to emphasize combat in a world where you have to fight to survive.
However, they also take academics seriously. Generally, mornings are for training, and afternoons are for self-study or activities in the affiliated Magic Bureau, but those who receive failing grades on the weekly academic test have direct lessons from the teacher awaiting them.
By the way, the tests vary according to age.
I could technically ask the teacher for help during the afternoon, but it seems there are only three among this so-called rookie class who haven’t received a failing grade.
The first is Marin. There’s no way such a serious girl would fail. The second is a Magical Girl named Rusted Calisten the Alice-Elle. It’s long, so it seems everyone just calls her Alice or Elle.
The last third is a Magical Girl named Take Mikadzuchi. By the way, all three seem to be 12 years old.
As for the other students with failing grades, I’ll get to know them in due time. I can’t memorize so many names all at once.
I could gather that the youngest is 10 years old, and the oldest seems to be 14.
Also, it seems anyone who has been a Magical Girl for less than three years can attend this rookie class.
To sum it up, as long as I pass the weekly tests, I’ll only have to deal with morning practical training.
It’s nice not to have to sit in a chair and attend long lectures.
“Does anyone have questions up to this point? Oh, Inie-san, it seems there will occasionally be special lessons at Thalagong’s request, so keep that in mind.”
I see… So peace will not visit me…
Come to think of it, I haven’t heard from Jeanne yet. I hope she doesn’t contact me at a weird timing…
“By the way, Thalagong seems to be sent around the world for about a month as a consequence of a long holiday.”
(I’m sure she’ll contact me eventually, so just reply casually.)
“Understood. Hehehe.”
“Then, since the other students are waiting, let’s head to the simulator room.”
Prizes swiftly erased the holograms and the written texts she used for explanation, preparing quickly.
My instinct tells me that something will definitely arise during the simulation ahead.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t go, so I follow Prizes, though I’ve been constantly fixated on the movement of her wings.
Touching a woman’s body would be considered sexual harassment, but surely it’s safe with wings, right?
(What do you think about that?)
“As long as it’s a woman touching a woman, it should be safe, so it’s fine to touch, right? Even if Haruna’s inside is a man…”
That’s true… On the outside, it’s safe, but inside it’s not. I’ll wait until later to pretend it was an accident to touch.
Nodding a few times behind Prizes, I reached that conclusion.
As I was lost in such foolish thoughts, we arrived at the room with the simulator.
Everyone was already in the simulation pots, and while the room itself was quiet, the images of the girls on the monitors were rather noisy.
It’s heavy to think that I have to join this group, but what can I do…?
I entered a pot and activated the simulator.
