The Lost king

Chapter 59: CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: "Hand in Hand"

---

EXT. ROYAL COURTYARD – KINGDOM OF AYO – DAY

The great stone platform of Ayo is bathed in sunlight. Banners of all five kingdoms ripple in the wind — Ibadi, Ondolu, Irebi, Owulo, and Ayo — their colors now woven together in one massive tapestry behind the throne.

The crowd is silent with awe, stretching as far as the eye can see.

And at the center of it all, stands Babatunde — not as a warrior now, but as a sage, draped in white ceremonial robes. His back is straighter than it's been in years. His eyes glisten with pride.

Before him: Adeola and Moremi, both in regal garb. Adeola's robe is deep indigo with gold embroidery — the crest of the sun and tree, symbol of Ayo reborn. Moremi's is a flowing blend of white, crimson, and silver, woven with spiritual sigils — both ancient and new.

BABAJIDE

(voice strong, sacred)

By the blood of the land…

By the voices of those who came before…

By the will of the people…

I name you, Adeola Abiola Ayo, rightful heir…

King of Ayo.

The crowd roars. Drums rise.

Babatunde places the golden crown on Adeola's head.

BABAJIDE (CONT'D)

And you, Moremi, Daughter of Flame, keeper of wisdom and heart…

I name you Queen of Ayo — light of the kingdom, guardian of its spirit.

Moremi bows her head as the silver circlet is placed upon her brow.

The cheers echo like thunder.

---

AMONG THE CROWD

Yemi, wearing the royal sash of Ondolu, claps with uncharacteristic joy.

Bayo, standing with warriors of Ibadi, smiles deeply, pride glowing in his eyes.

Femi and Damilola, side by side, nod solemnly — their shared battles reflected in their smiles.

Morenike, in priestess robes, watches with reverence — a soft, almost maternal smile crossing her face.

---

EXT. AYO PALACE – NIGHT – WEDDING FESTIVAL

The palace grounds have transformed. Lanterns float in the air. Drummers play thunderous rhythms. The wedding ceremony begins — a fusion of ancient rites and modern celebration.

Chants rise. Colorful garments swirl.

ADEOLA and MOREMI sit beneath the Tree of Kings, their hands tied gently together with a blessed silk thread.

PRIESTESS MORENIKE (V.O.)

As the kingdom finds peace,

Let love bind what war could not.

Let two hearts lead where armies once marched.

The silk is untied. Their hands remain linked.

They rise.

The music shifts — joyful, fast, explosive. The crowd erupts into dance. Even the rebel legion joins in — Femi is pulled into a dance circle, Bayo lifts a child onto his shoulders, Ayomide toasts with villagers, Yemi laughs with elders.

And in the sky—

Fireworks burst, lighting the night in brilliant color.

Songs fill the air — not of mourning, but of freedom.

---

EXT. PALACE BALCONY – LATER THAT NIGHT

Adeola and Moremi stand above the crowd, the land of Ayo below them, lights glowing like stars on the earth.

They turn to each other.

He offers his hand.

She takes it.

And together — they walk forward.

Down the steps.

Through the courtyard.

Into the crowd.

Into a new world.

---

From behind, we see them walking — hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder.

The music swells.

The people sing.

They rises above them, above the palace, above the kingdoms — united, reborn.
