The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 266: Did This Pie Really Get Completed?

[To Lord Demon King:

Honorable Lord Demon King, I wonder if your endeavors have been going smoothly lately? I hope the sacrifices I offered you have served some humble purpose.

I apologize for contacting you only now. When you receive this letter, I am situated on an unknown land, with nothing beside me but pirates, corpse ghosts, and extinguished hope.

As to why we ended up here, it all started with an incident a month ago.

Since the restart from Seldo Port, our voyage went smoothly… until we entered this strange sea area, where the tendrils of misfortune finally caught hold of our sails and engines.

The compass failed, the stars shifted, thick fog shrouded us, and storms raged… various unusual phenomena caused us to lose direction. However, when we respectfully adjusted our course with reverence for the sea, intending to return the way we came to replenish supplies, we could not see the familiar coastlines or Seldo Port for a long time.

By this point, we had no choice but to accept this harsh reality—we were lost in this vast ocean.

Fortunately, providence did not entirely abandon us, for as we reached the end of the road, thanks to your blessing… we encountered a band of pirates also trapped in despair.

They came at us fiercely, like a starved hyena, rushing at us without realizing who was the hunter and who was the prey. I thought perhaps they might know this sea, so I deliberately slowed our ship, progressively shutting down the steam power, creating the illusion of a malfunction to lure them closer.

Sure enough, they pounced on us with green eyes. However, they never imagined that the sailors on deck were not living men, but your loyal and brave subordinates! The battle lasted less than a quarter-hour before this group of insidious villains became our captives.

Yet, misfortune seemed not to have let us go.

Just when I was about to slowly pry open Ticky's mouth for more information, a tidal wave suddenly swallowed us!

That was no ordinary storm, but something deeper and more sinister controlling the ocean. The giant waves tore apart our masts, devoured the cabins, and we rolled and struggled in the dark deep, eventually abandoned by the tide on this unknown land.

When I awoke, the ocean-going ship granted by you had already been broken, half-buried in the sand. Our enemies, too, were battered by the storm, only thirty or so survived in a wretched state.

Your loyal servants fared not much better, with only fifty remaining active, just slightly better than those living men. Furthermore, the supplies of food and fresh water were washed away, making our survival an urgent issue.

Faced with this dilemma, I made an adventurous decision—to temporarily cooperate with Ticky.

Although he was once a noble of the Aus Empire, he abandoned the faith of Saint Sis years ago and embraced Lord Demon God. As an experienced pirate, he holds rich navigation experience, which is crucial for us.

Of course, this does not mean I completely trust him; everything is for your plan.

After collaborating with the pirates, we attempted to explore along the edge of the coastline, yet we never found an end. All indications suggest that beneath our feet is not an island at all—it is highly likely a continent uncharted on any map!

To uncover more clues, we sent people deep into the jungle. The damp air was filled with the stench of beasts and decay, the black, soft soil beneath our feet was like a vibrant graveyard.

I don't know if I should describe it this way, but since stepping into the forest, I've felt a strong unease, every leaf like the eyes of a beast, coveting us vigilantly.

Your servants fear no fatigue, but they moved sluggishly in the jungle. Whether due to the damp air or some other unknown presences in the forest, they seemed diseased, their bodies growing weaker as if rotting...

The pirates were no different, many fell ill, curled on stretchers awaiting death. Fortunately, due to this, they cast no covetous eyes upon us, allowing us to maintain a temporary and superficial unity.

Yet, these are not our greatest problem.

The greatest problem is that we discovered footprints not belonging to us deep in the forest.

They resemble the Lizardmen of the southwest swamps of Thunder City, yet clearly, the Lizardmen here are much larger, the depth and width of their footprints are astonishing.

This is not good news, especially as we gradually realize that those creatures may have already discovered us, and increasingly frequently operate near us, even making some unfriendly probes.

Drums and low roars echo from the depths of the forest at night, occasionally at midnight, we can hear huge wing beats above, as if a colossal creature is hovering over us.

Our supplies have become scarce, and unknown hostility is spreading toward us.

We salvaged shipwreck, felled timber, and built a temporary camp, but this is not a long-term plan. We cannot venture deeper into the jungle, nor can we leave this coast… we need assistance!

Lord Demon King, if you are willing, please lend a hand, dispatch reinforcements to descend upon this place, and with your might, conquer this unknown land. Although we have not found any valuable treasure here, at least the soil is fertile enough to potentially become a cornerstone of your dominion!
