Chapter 92: Invigoration
"I think you can apply Regenesis to their bodies by converting your raw mana into a healing spell," Jessica suggested. "Your mana invigorates you because it's your own. But using raw mana on someone else will cause mana poisoning. If you convert it into a healing spell and distribute it to every cell in their body, it should cure both hidden and surface-level ailments. I'm not sure what the full results will be, but it won't harm them."
Ranav considered her words carefully. "It's worth a try."
Turning to Vivita, he asked, "Sis, you still have some lingering trauma in your body. Do you want to get rid of it?"
Vivita's faith in her younger brother was absolute. Without hesitation, she responded, "Of course, Lil' Bro. Why would I want to keep any trauma?"
Ranav added cautiously, "It might cause some discomfort. Are you okay with that?"
Healing spells typically didn't cause pain, only hunger, but Ranav wanted to be cautious since this technique was experimental. Vivita simply smiled. "I trust you. Go ahead."
Taking her hand in his, Ranav began channeling his mana. The process caused a strange sensation to ripple through Vivita's body. "It feels like… hundreds of tiny ants crawling under my skin!" she exclaimed, squirming as the sensation spread from her hand to every corner of her body.
Alarmed, Ranav asked, "Does it hurt?"
"No, it doesn't hurt," she reassured him, though her twisting and fidgeting hinted at discomfort. "It just tickles a lot."
"Please endure it for a little longer," he said, focusing on the spell. "Let me know immediately if it starts to hurt."
As the process continued, Vivita began sweating profusely. Suddenly, some black oily substances started seeping out from her pores, accompanied by a foul odor that quickly filled the room.
Ranav endured the malodor but kept his concentration. "Sis, hang in there! I'm almost done. Big sis, open the window… quickly!"
Camilla hurried to open the window, letting fresh air in and dispersing the stench slightly. A few moments later, Ranav finished the spell. Conducting a final check with his Regenesis, he confirmed that all ailments had been cleared. "It's done," he declared with relief.
Vivita wrinkled her nose. "I need a bath. You ruined my dress, Lil' Bro!" Without another word, she dashed out of the room. Camilla followed, leaving Ranav to deal with the aftermath.
Jessica's amused voice echoed in his mind. "Do you want to name this new spell?"
Ranav smirked. "I'm sure you already have a name in mind. Just say it."
"You're no fun," Jessica teased. "Fine. Let's call it Invigoration."
"Good name," Ranav admitted. "Now, let's clean this mess."
The spot where Vivita had been sitting was stained with some black oily residue. Ranav stripped the soiled bedsheet, rolled it up, and set it aside for washing. After replacing it with a fresh sheet, he left the room to air out the lingering stench. When Vivita returned, freshly bathed, Ranav went to clean the stained bedsheet. By the time he returned, the smell in his room had dissipated, allowing him to meditate in peace.
At dinner, Ranav noticed his mother and sisters whispering and casting glances his way. Their behavior was suspicious, and his curiosity got the better of him.
"Mom, what's going on? Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Caught off guard, Naveena hesitated before Camilla stepped in. "Ranav, did you notice anything different about Vivita?"
Ranav examined his sister but saw nothing out of the ordinary aside from her blushing face. "No… she looks the same to me. Except for the blushing," he said, confused.
Vivita's face turned even redder as Naveena clarified, "Not that. Look closely. Her skin is smoother, her complexion fairer, and her hair shinier."
Now that it was pointed out, Ranav noticed the changes. "I see it now. I only intended to heal her body; these improvements must be side effects of the process."
"I don't care how you did it," Naveena said with a smile. "But we want the same treatment."
Ranav blinked. "We?"
"Yes," Naveena said firmly. "Both of us."
"Why? Are you sick?" Ranav asked, concerned. He had checked Camilla earlier and found no serious issues.
Naveena sighed. "You don't understand. Whatever you did, made Vivita prettier. Every woman wants to look her best… and we're no exception."
Jessica chuckled in his mind. "Your Invigoration spell just turned into a beauty treatment."
Ranav sighed. "Fine, but I'll do it before you bathe tomorrow. Otherwise, you'll need to bathe again."
Naveena's face lit up. "Deal. Come back early from practice tomorrow morning."
Camilla grinned. "Thanks, Lil' Bro."
"But promise me," Ranav added, "you won't tell anyone about this. If other women find out, I'll be in serious trouble."
Camilla laughed. "Don't worry. Every woman's beauty is her secret."
The next morning, Jessica guided Ranav into the woods, using maps they had obtained from Tenali Raman. The maps proved invaluable as they navigated to a secluded pool far from any dangerous beasts. Following Jessica's instructions, Ranav scouted the area for potential threats before following a trail of rabbit tracks.
After catching a rabbit, he healed its minor wounds before experimenting with dark magic. Unfortunately, the first few attempts ended in failure, with the creatures succumbing to mana shock. Frustrated but determined, Ranav adjusted his technique. After several more attempts… and the unfortunate deaths of three rabbits, five squirrels, and several frogs, he finally succeeded in applying dark magic without harming the subject.
Encouraged by this breakthrough, Ranav continued practicing until he achieved consistent results. Satisfied, he returned home, where he performed Invigoration on his mother and Camilla. They marveled at the results and agreed to repeat the process weekly to avoid mana poisoning.
The following week, after another round of Invigoration on the ladies, Ranav's father approached him outside the house. After some hesitation, Trinav finally said, "Son, whatever you did to your mother has made her look younger… much younger. Either you do the same for me, or stop doing it to her. I look like an old man standing next to her."
Ranav couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, Dad. You're next."
With that, the entire family became part of what Jessica dubbed the "Beauty Club."
Each day, Ranav ventured into the woods to practice dark magic on poor animals before returning home to meditate, read, or teach his sisters. Life settled into a peaceful routine as he honed his skills and strengthened his bonds with his family.
