The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 791: Come On, Mom, You Like Him

If no one told you, there was no way you could tell one of the three identical beauties was, in fact, the mother of the other two, who are twins.

Queenie Lunara looked exactly the same as her daughters, Queenie and Ohema.

The only differences between them were their eye and hair colors.

Queenie's were now dark red and slowly moving toward red, thanks to her gradually awakening her Asura side, which was related to blood.

Ohema had silver-purple eyes and hair, while Queen Lunara's were dark silver.

Aside from these distinct features, they had the same face, height, and even the same body shape, down to the cup size. That was how identical they were.

In fact, while Klaus didn't know yet, the three ladies treated each other like sisters when in private, so talking with their mother was more like talking to a sister.

"What's wrong, Mom? You look upset," Queenie said when she and Nari approached Queen Lunara.

"Of course, I am upset. Couldn't you two keep it down a little? Must you scream your hearts out?" Queen Lunara said with a smirk.

She had been annoyed for a second there. Something she found bizarre, considering two ladies having sex with their man shouldn't bother her.

"We were having a good time with our man, so of course, making those sounds was our way of showing how amazing he is," Queenie replied with a cheeky smile, wrapping her hand around her mother's shoulder as if they were buddies.

She led her to the side and sat down on a stone.

"Why don't you tell me what's bothering you, Mother?" Queenie asked. "Before you say nothing's bothering you, know that I can sense the tension between you and Klaus. We all can."

"So, what's wrong? And if possible, how can we help?"

Nari nodded from the side, watching the queen turn to look at her daughter.

She could tell Queen Lunara wanted to lie, but she couldn't take that route since Queenie had already stated the obvious.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Queen Lunara, however, checked out and chose to lie. Her lie was blatant, and they could tell even she didn't believe it.

"Oh, come on, Mom. I saw how you were staring at him for the past three days, especially when he took his shirt off.

Those eyes you had on back then were of someone who wanted to rip his clothes apart and devour him," Queenie laughed, causing Nari to giggle.

"I wasn't staring." Queen Lunara didn't like where this was going.

"Stop lying, Mom. I knew you were staring because I was, too, and he's already my man. So you can understand why I believe there's something between you two. I don't know exactly what it is, so why don't you tell me?"

"Do you like our man?" Nari asked the question straightforwardly, making the queen nearly choke on her breath.

"Don't be ridiculous, Nari. Why would I like such a brat?" Queen Lunara answered Nari's question, but the two ladies didn't buy her answer.

It didn't take a genius to know something was going on in the warrior queen's mind. It was like she was having an internal struggle. Her brain and heart weren't communicating properly.

Naturally, Queenie was the best person to handle this, for she'd had her own internal battles, and when she finally accepted them, she became happy.

So she knew something had to be done. This way, her mother would have it much easier than she did. The last thing she wanted was to see her mother struggling with inner demons.

"Look, Mom, Klaus is an amazing guy. He's easy-going and perfect every day. So if he's the source of your struggle, it's better to confront him and get it out of the way.

Trust me, the faster you resolve your inner demons, the better it is for you. I learned that the hard way. So, if he's the cause of this, you should talk it out with him.

He wouldn't devour you from a mere talk, so get to know him and if possible, don't wear this cloth when you meet him. Trust me, you wouldn't want that brat seeing this thickness." Queenie giggled.

"Personally, though, I think you're falling for him, Mom. It makes me wonder about many things. I wish Ohema were here," Queenie laughed.

"Stop speaking nonsense! Who would like that brat?" Queen Lunara still wouldn't accept defeat.

"Come on, Mom, you like him. Just be ready to get devoured by him."

Queen Lunara had had enough, so she flew away before making any mistake she'd probably regret for a while.

However, when she was far enough, she stopped and placed her hand on her chest, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.

Slowly, it started to calm down.

However, images of the time she spent with Klaus after defeating the snake back in Monsterland started appearing in her mind, causing her heart to begin beating wildly again, like a drum.

"What is wrong with me?" she muttered, but she couldn't get the image of Klaus's handsome sleeping face out of her mind.

Her mind spiraled deeper into confusion.

Of course, she couldn't deny the subtle warmth that spread through her chest whenever she thought of Klaus.

His confident smile and the gentleness hidden beneath his robust exterior always make her want to look at him even more. Klaus is affecting her in ways she can't place her finger on.

She shook her head fiercely, hoping to clear her mind, yet the image stubbornly persisted.

"No, this can't be," she whispered to herself, frustration evident in her voice. "I'm Queen Lunara, the Queen of the Moonborns—I don't have time for such distractions!"

Her daughter said the same things back in Stone Valley when Nari was helping her become Klaus's woman.

"I can't get distracted. Not now"

"Plus, he isn't some random person. He is the man of both my Daughters." She muttered, already having a panic attack setting in.

Despite her protests, the memory of the time she spent with Klaus kept creeping back in.

She spent close to a month alone with him, with Klaus sleeping through the entire period. However, while the brat was asleep, she couldn't help but get absorbed in looking at his handsome face.

The more she looked at him, the more it felt like she should stay with him much longer. It felt like she would be okay and protected whenever she was with him.

Unconsciously, her lips curved into a small smile before she caught herself and blushed furiously.

She couldn't deny the truth any longer—she had indeed developed feelings for Klaus, though admitting it openly felt terrifying.

She sighed, leaning against a nearby tree, eyes closed. "Why does it have to be so complicated?" she murmured softly.

She would be lying if she said she wouldn't want to get rid of these feelings. However, a part of her couldn't deny that she shared something with Klaus, and as such, if she dared bury her feelings for him, she would forever regret it.

So for the next ten hours, she sat under the tree contemplating what she must do.

Suddenly, her sensitive ears picked up footsteps approaching, prompting her eyes to snap open sharply. Her heart raced as she immediately recognized the familiar, relaxed aura approaching her.
